It was just as advertised…no, better! Very well appointed and a great property. Would be fun to return in the summer and be able to enjoy the lake. Regardless off season, we’d definitely return. Thank you!!
This was so cute and perfect for a girls trip to celebrate a birthday weekend! The cutest cabin and decor. Full kitchen with cooking supplies and a bunch of board games. We enjoyed the included paddle boat and yard games. Overall could not have asked for a better weekend!
Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed fishing and the the hosts provided a great info and efficient communication. Very comfortable accommodations and the place had everything we needed.
This cabin and property are really fantastic. A beautiful view and plenty of yard space/activities. We had a wonderful time and the host was great to work with. Everything with the cabin was amazing!! We always love checking out the local towns on our trips and this town was lacking on the small town cute factor with not much for restaurants or shops. If you’re going to be at the cabin mainly I would give it 5 stars.
Great location. Light pollution was minimal at a nearby park (6 miles away) which allowed us to view the Milky Way without technology. On a clear night from the back yard we captured excellent photos of the moon with our telescope. Sunsets from the dock were amazing. On a day trip to Bemidji we saw a bald eagle and many deer. In the back yard / lake we saw many duck families, rabbits, otter’s, loons, water snakes and caught 6 different varieties of fish. The weather in July is excellent, no air conditioning required. The house is spacious, open with tons of electrical outlets, usb connections, several tvs and fans. Well cared for and attention paid to the details liked bath towels, bedding, pillows, mattresses, chairs, couch, etc. Everything was clean, comfortable and a lot of incidentals were provided….ie…q-tips, Kleenex, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, garbage bags and plenty of dishes/ utensils. Two kayaks as well as a paddle boat with 4 life vests were provided. The locals were very amicable. One neighbor even rented us his 16 foot fishing boat for a day as all the rental companies were booked. The town (Grand Rapids) has a Walmart, Target, lots of local restaurants, several grocery stores, multiple liquor stores, outdoor stores and a well stocked hardware store within a 10 minute drive.Multiple nearby bike trails provide excellent biking adventures.Overall the property is excellent, the people are friendly, the environment beautiful.
I hate to give this place the review it truly deserves because I’m scared I will never be able to rent it again! What a special place. My husband and I wanted a short getaway to relax and recharge, and we couldn’t have found a better place. The Aframe is absolutely adorable and so charming. The lake is so quiet, and picturesque. Going to bed and waking up to the view of the lake, and the sounds of the loons was magical. We brought our boat, and had a wonderful time fishing and watching all the bald eagles! We also floated around on the beach and hung out on the dock. The cabin was fully stocked, and the grill and fireplace were perfect. We explored the area a bit, and found many beautiful public beaches and trails, but I hated leaving the cabin because it was cozy and peaceful! Thank you for sharing this special place with us! We hope to come back next summer and want to bring our girls with, they would love it!
This cabin was perfect for 4 older adults. Space layout was well thought out. Beds comfy. Quiet. Beautiful view of the lake with easy access. Stairs a bit rickety, but we had no problems. Well stocked kitchen. Cabin very clean with comfortable seating. Enjoyed our stay! Loved Grand Rapids. Thank you!
They loved it, had a great time time! I booked for them for their gift and received quick responses to any questions, most everything in handbook and hist very informative. Friendly and easy to work with, vestigial newly remodeled home on lake with nice outdoor space, loved the kayak’s. Thank though!
Comfortable, clean, cozy. Charming, updated decor, very sunny and light during the day time. Very comfortable beds. We appreciated the lack of scented candles and fragranced things and their care in using cleaning products without harmful chemicals as one of us has asthma. Short hop to Grand Rapids for supplies, eating out etc. We really enjoyed exploring a variety of different walking and hiking trails a short drive away. The nearby Forest History Center was informative, good for adults and should be interesting to school age kids. There was some renovation going on at the neighbors so there was a bit of noise during the day from that, but nothing that interfered with our activities or needs. The only thing that keeps us from rebooking is navigating the spiral stairs between the lower level and the upper level, and no guarantee that arthritic knees would be pain free the week we’d be there. That might be of concern if you’re carrying babies and toddlers, or with young children who like dare devil challenges. There’s also a ladder to get to a bed in the loft area above the upper level.
Overall we had a nice time. Everything worked as offered. The listing is stylish and quaint. There is a very nice ceiling fan in each bedroom and a solid coffee maker. Draw backs are the emphasis on basic rules and no hair dryer. The property company concept also takes away from the personal touch of vrbo. While I understand the need to protect your place, I found the lack of humanity and focus on rules to be oppressive as an adult and a joy killer.
