Here is your chance to experience an amazing straw bale home in one of Bend's best locations! This eco friendly, lofted home is the perfect perch for either work or play in Bend. Located on a quiet street just a block from Drake Park you can walk to coffee every morning, walk to your river float every afternoon and truly experience the relaxing routine of downtown Bend living.

On the main floor, you'll find the king bedroom, complete with high thread count linens, European bedding andwarm, radiant heat floors and a mini split heat and A/C unit for the perfect temperature year round. The built in dresser snugs right into the stucco and straw bale walls. You'll find the full bathroom down here as well with a big tub and shower stocked with earth friendly soaps and shampoos to start off your stay. Colorful tile and creative finishes around the tub will also catch your eye. All the floors downstairs are heated so your toes will always be happy. A stacked washer and dryer is also provided. The kitchen and dining room also are the perfect spots to start your gourmet meal, or lounge for morning coffee as you plan your day in Bend. The wood stove is is such a treat for cool nights. We'll start you off with a bundle of wood for your stay.

Upstairs is the amazing, open loft space with queen bed in the sleeping area and a queen sofa (no sleeper) in the TV area. The loft is also the 2nd bedroom. The loft is completely surrounded by windows so you can truly bring the outside in! TV and a computer work station, with monitor included, are also located up here. The 2nd mini split unit heat and A/C unit is here so you'll always be the right temperature.

The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils for both the cook and the baker. We always supply basic oils and spices for your use too. You'll always be set for making a recovery dinner after your surf, swim or ski! The dining room seats 6 easily. You'll find all the usual appliances (oven, stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, but no dishwasher) plus more.

The sweet front porch extends across the entire front of the home. Grab a chair, start up the BBQ and sit back and relax. This is a quintessential Bend location! A hot tub is located in the fenced yard, perfect for the apres work/play soak. We do ask you to be whisper quiet in the hot tub after 10pm.

Located 1 block from the Galveston Bridge and the Galveston shops just beyond, this is definitely a walkable location. The postage stamp sized yard is xeriscaped and lawn free. A short fence will be installed later in June to completely surround the home. Perfect for lounging around with friends or for a mellow pup. Downtown is about a 10 minute stroll. This location earns a Walk Score® of 86 and there is a locked gear shed for your bike/skis/etc if you'd like to bring toys.

There is 1 FREE and dedicated parking spot in the alley. If you want or need to a 2nd parking spot on the street, please let us know when you reserve. We'll start the process to get you a street parking permit from the City of Bend (about $50 per month). There is also a QR code in the home for you to use if you only want a to purchase a few days of paid street parking.

On this quiet street you'll be mere steps from all the vibrant and bustling fun happening on the river and in downtown, especially in the summer. The Mirror Pond float tube take out is just a block away at Drake Park. Various festivals and events visit Drake Park during the summer months. Winter time is more serene as the Deschutes River slows and the park has dustings of snow.
