LAKE LURE LAKEFRONT - INTERNET ACCESS - FIREPLACE - BOATHOUSE AND DOCK SPACE - PAVED DRIVE
STILES LAKE HOUSE has a Modest Exterior and a Lovely Must-See Interior.
AREA WIDE NOTICE: Lake Lure will undergo a drawdown from January 1st, 2024, through the first quarter of 2024(March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet have been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. For more information, click here. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. This will not affect the smaller lakes in the area, only Lake Lure itself.
The modest exterior of this single-level Lake Lure lakefront home surprises with a large, well-appointed interior. You would likely never guess it was a 3 bedroom/2 bath home. It is ideal for a romantic getaway or just a quiet, peaceful escape with friends and family (sorry, no four-legged guests). This home is 2.8 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 4.1 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 16.4 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).
Upon entering, the dining room has seating for 4 (plus four stools at the kitchen bar area) and a lovely sitting area. Beyond is the living area, with additional seating, a gas fireplace, and a flat-screen TV (basic channels). Internet is also available. What the U-shaped kitchen lacks in size, it makes up for in the cabinet storage space while still offering the necessary full-size appliances (refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave).
The king-bed suite has doors that open onto the lakeside deck, providing comfort and a perfect way to wake in the morning. The room also has a cozy club chair and an adjoining full bathroom.
There are 2 additional bedrooms with queen beds, a full bathroom, and a laundry closet in the hallway. This home offers comfortable sleeping for 6. If you want to bring additional guests, the sofa is available, or bring an inflatable mattress.
The Outdoor Amenities Offer Additional Surprises
The rocking chairs on the covered front porch beckon you to come and relax. Their lakeside deck has nice furniture (dining set and rocking chairs) and a gas grill. Enjoy your meal on the upper-level viewing deck of the boathouse, or take in the splendor of the area.
Inside the boathouse are 2 kayaks for your use. The dock is a great place to sit and dangle your feet in the water or bring your boat for use on the lake (see the boating regulations for additional information).
Lake Lure Beauty Year-Round
This home is perfect for every season. In spring, the bushes and trees on the shady wooded lot and down the long drive will begin filling with leaves. Summer weather in the area is great most of the time. Autumn brings plenty of visitors to the area for the extraordinary colors. They are even more beautiful when reflected on the lake. With the absence of leaves on the trees in winter, you will see entirely new landscapes.
Plus, the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area and surrounding communities have so much to offer, including restaurants, shopping, and fun outdoor adventures you and your loved ones will never forget. See the Amenities and Notes for just a sampling of what is available.
This home is 2.8 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 4.1 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 16.4 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).
Several excellent golf courses are nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.
The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure, including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, hiking, museums, and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more. It is only 15 minutes from Bat Cave, 35 minutes from Hendersonville, 50 minutes from Asheville, and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less than 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

Our group of 5 ladies enjoyed a very relaxing long weekend at Stiles House. The location was perfect and quiet, yet not too far from conveniences. The lake was very peaceful. The house has lots of space, but the back deck is where we spent all our time. We loved our stay.
We had a fabulous stay in the Stiles Lake House. It is close to Chimney Rock and some great little spots to explore. If staying close is your thing the lake is perfect for swimming, kayaking and fishing just a few steps away.
My second visit to this location might be my last. Upon arrival and opening the door the air conditioning was broken and management did not notify me. They had 4 portable air conditioning systems in the home. That barely kept the house cool.
The house is really nice and true to the description and pics. The only criticism is that the door to the master bedroom is very light with no lock so privacy is not great. Location is right on the lake and about 15 minutes from Chimney Rock and about 45 minutes from Asheville. Be aware that Waze and Google Maps will both take you past the driveway and down to a private property where you'll have to turn around. There is a lack of variety of restaurants, lots of things close early or are closed a few days of the week and nothing delivers but that's what you're going to get when staying in a small town. Not a criticism just good to be aware of. Communication with the property management company is iffy. Their automated texts with info amd check-in and check-out specifics are nice. Two separate days i tried calling and couldn't get through. Eventually someone called me back after texting. I would stay at the house again.
Overall clean and pleasant experience. We were startled by rotten hole in center of deck covered by a chair. We observed a rotten post. The kayaks were not very sturdy or comfortable, so we did not use them. We wondered why there was a large picture frame with a blue canvas of nothing at the entrance. Very quiet place to stay and sufficient spaces to gather and visit.
The house is perfect! Everything was as listed or better. The deck above the boathouse was perfect for jumping. The kids caught fish right off the dock. Town was super convenient. (Only wish renters could tow tubes behind rental boats!). We'll be back!
This home is very beautiful, bright and has everything you could need for a lake trip. The stairs coming up from the lake are exhausting you will definitely get your exercise. The only thing the BBQ cooks very slowly. Every time you use the oven the fire alarms go off and it is extremely loud and annoying.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Stiles property, particularly swimming in the lake and hanging out on the deck. The house feels a bit like a tree house because the foliage is so lush this time of year (July). House nice, clean, as described. A few minor things that could improve the stay: * Had an 8 hour drive to get there, but couldn't access the property 10 minutes early because the door code is set for 4pm exactly. Seemed kinda silly to be hanging out in the driveway. * There are signs around the house/ on the frig letting you know how much the fines/ fees are for various infractions. Maybe some visitors need reminders but it was a little off-putting. * Ran out of toilet paper on day 2 or 3 of a week long stay (w/ average use, nothing crazy).
Nice quiet place for a week of relaxation. We particularly enjoyed the covered deck. We had a few rainy periods and watching the rain on the lake was very refreshing.
Dishwasher umbrella broken and replaced quickly gas grill dirty and gas cans empty taken care of quickly kitchen faucet loose fixed all. The property managers worker excellent quickly fixed things even on Sunday dinner time (Dason?)
Nice property had a great time
