Very wonderful vacation home and the hosts were so nice. They were also very generous and flexible with our last minute emergency booking. I wish we had had more time to hang out on the beach as it was gorgeous and so well-equipped with toys and gear. I would love to come back with my family to enjoy the big yard. The furnishings weren't all brand new but it felt like a home that had been well-loved and was cozier for it. Highly recommend. There's also an amazing bakery close by and lots of wineries and antique shops.
The property is absolutely stunning. They have a small cottage and about 3 additional guest rooms. We rented the cottage, but I imagine that even when the guest rooms are full, there is still plenty of room to social distance since the property is pretty big. They have really old trees, lots of green space, beautiful, abrupt stone steps to the beach with benches on the side and a beautiful view from the beach. The beach is absolutely wonderful. All the adjacent properties have private beaches and you can walk on the beach for miles. I imagine that even in summer, it will not be too crowded. We stayed a week-end in March and it was cold and rained one day, but the house was very pleasant and warm and they have a fireplace, which is not featured in the pictures. It was very cozy inside and warm and so we had a great time even when it rained. The cottage has a lot of light and big windows that open, which would be a plus in the summer. The air conditioning seems to be window units, but I cannot comment on it since we did not use it. The furniture and things inside the house were older, but we absolutely felt at home. It was super super clean, so I had no concerns regarding COVID-19, even though I brought my own cleaning stuff. They provided soap, and toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, a few garbage bags, and salt and pepper. Bring your own towels, There are no towels of any kind in the house. Another thing to note is that the bed on top of the stairs has a pullout bed underneath it (again, not shown in the picture), so it sleeps 2. There is a futon downstairs that can be used as a bed, but you would have to request extra sheets and blankets in advance or bring your own. Overall, we loved the cottage vibe and we would come back. I highly recommend this for a small family that prefers a laid back style rather than a luxurious one.
My family and I loved our stay at thIs lake house! Everyone was so kind! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. It was warm and comfy with windows everywhere to look out of. We loved walking out of the door onto the bluff, the view is gorgeous! The land is very well kept with beautiful old tall trees! My children enjoyed the swing that hung from one tree. We enjoyed having bon fires! There were so many beach and sand toys for my kids to play with at the beach, even in the middle of March they had a ball. Then to have your own private beach right in the back yard was the best part! There’s so many more details I could say, it was just very special. We are in love! We hope to come back in the summer. Thank you to Paul and his family! You guys are great!
This is a great house for a getaway to the Lake Michigan shore. The grounds are large and well maintained. The Lats have thought of many details to make for a great stay. lots of dry firewood for fires, chairs at the top of the bluff to enjoy the view of the lake, bicycles, kayaks, beach chairs etc. The beach is spacious and along a quite stretch of shoreline. This house is simply furnished with the basic needs but comfortable and very clean.
