Beautiful property with plenty of room to spread out. The only downside was that the water heater couldn't keep up for 8 guests.

The home was beautiful nd spacious. All items needed were provided, down to hand soaps. Beds were comfortable. We did have several issues arise while there. I will list below: 1. Dead animal smell in downstairs bedroom (twin bedroom)2. Rodent droppings in drawers in kitchen3. Shower handle in bedroom above garage broke off. Had to shut water off. Not fixed during our visit. 4. Same room, heating did not work. 5. Gas tank to fire pit only allowed less than an hour of burn time. Second tank empty. 6. No lights at the steps to hot tub. 7. Dryer upstairs did not dry clothes. Took 2 hours per load. Requested access to the downstairs laundry (as shown in pictures) no response from text with code 8. Stink bugs throughout house. 9. Items delivered for next guest greater than 24 hours before our departure. 10. Kitchen floor was dirty. Babies feet were black after 30 minutes of arrival. I feel if the house had been prepared before our arrival, Most issues would have not been present.

Horrible place to stay! Havn’t felt worse about any other vrbo stays until this one. To start with, the property rental management company provides the worst customer service anybody can possibly imagine- we reached the property at 7:30pm and had trouble finding the key to enter the property in the dark. I tried to contact Vacasa but did not recieve a response for almost an hour. While I was provided a code, I wasn’t informed that it was a code to the lock box for the key and not an keypad entry. To speak of the property itself, all of the bedrooms except for the master and one guest bedroom are located in the basement which has a musty odour that is hard to ignore. The beds are tiny and cannot accommodate 11 people as advertised. The decor is horrible and includes huge animal staties and wall hangings all over the place, including the backyard. The trees in the backyard haven’t been trimmed and so the advertised view is false. Finally, when asked for an extension due to a health emergency (inspite of offending to pay for the extra hour), we were denied. So yeah, no more vrbo and no more vacasa!

A unique place. A small high-end, old money estate feel. Very cool. Artwork everywhere. Pause and look at each piece!

Nice older home with lots of character. Poorly maintained and many lights out. Downstairs kitchen lights didn’t even work. Tennis court in disrepair. All the entertaining features are non operational.

This home is a fortress! We arrived on Thursday the day hurricane helene was coming to Waynesville. We arrived, the house was clean and beautiful. Friday morning we woke up and both roadways down the mountain were washed out, the garage flooded from a support wall breaking due to water flooding down the mountain. We lost power around 10am Friday but the generator kicked on almost instantly which was great. We were able to conserve our power to only cooking. We hung out on the beautiful back porch. The home could use more shovels and supplies incase of an emergency. On Sunday we were forced to evacuate the home. We had to help build a road to get our vehicles off the mountain. The neighbors on the mountain are absolutely wonderful and we all worked together to get us off the mountain. Waiting to see if Vacasa is going to give us a refund for forcing us to leave. The home has comfortable beds, great amenities and a fabulous property.

Overall the house is a great place to spend a week! We spent many mornings and evenings on the back porch (though closer to sunset since it gets pretty warm while the sun is above the horizon but it's gorgeous once the sun sets and the fireflies come out). There's tons of room in the house, including a nice studio above the garage and amenities like the billiard table and tennis court (bonus - there's a basketball hoop). If you do a lot of cooking, bring your favorite knives and maybe a pan or two. The kitchen is stocked but the knives and pans are worn. We also had an issue with the refrigerator on the main floor not keeping a cold temperature, but we were able to use the one in the basement. Someone else mentioned the musty smell in the apartment above the garage. That smell is likely sewer gas from the shower, and we had to keep the bathroom door closed to prevent it from spreading to the rest of the room. With a little TLC this place could really shine but even with the issues above, it's still an amazing house and we'd recommend it.

The house was wonderful and was very clean when we arrived. We had 12 family members stay-from 19 to 70, and everyone enjoyed the eclectic uniqueness of the home. There are issues that need to be addressed on this property that have obviously been ignored for some time. The main fridge is barely cooling. The freezer works fine, but the ice drawer is broken and should be fixed or at least labeled. The bottom oven in that kitchen doesn’t close, either. The kids finally found a remote control in the closet by the master bedroom that operated all the tvs. There are probably 20 remotes laying around the house that don’t work to operate any tv. At the very least, the non-operable remotes should be thrown away and the one that does work should be labeled and put somewhere easy to use. This day and age, a common area tv that people can use to log into their streaming services would go a long way. A few other issues is that there was only one dishcloth in the whole house and we could have used more of them, as well as potholders and more towels. I don’t believe that there were working lights by the hot tub, which made it dangerous at night. Lastly, there is a strong sewer smell in the room above the garage. From the reviews, it has been an issue for some time. We had to leave the windows open to make is somewhat tolerable. There is also a heavy sewer smell in the backyard, especially in the morning. As i said, we had a wonderful stay for the most part, but there is general maintenance and upkeep of the property that needs to be done.

All in all it was a wonderful stay, beautiful views and a beautiful house. Bring extra towels, toilet paper, paper towels. etc. They give you enough to start but not finish. :-)

Big and spacious. Plenty of amenities to keep family entertained. We had multiple issues that caused inhabitable sleeping arrangements for 3 of my guests and no help from Vacasa with issue. Ceiling tiles missing with insulation exposed and leak in one bedroom. Missing bedding for 3 of my guests. Begged and pleaded with Vacasa to help but only got promises and no one ever came. The house has mold and rotting sheet rock. May have a plumbing issue because the apartment over garage had a musty odor.
