Kings Beach, California
Beautiful, cozy home with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and hot tub.
The home has 3 levels:
The Bottom level has a queen size bed, 2 sofa-chairs, and en-suite bathroom (with shower). This room has 3 small windows and 3 doors (one door to outside (house-side entrance), one door that leads to the stairs to go upstairs, and one door to the bathroom).
The Main level has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with cathedral ceilings and opens onto a brand new large deck with Lake Views and BBQ area. On the deck there is a table, 1 small Weber BBQs, and an 8 people L-shaped sofa with a table. IN the summer we install sunshades. The Living room offers a 55 in flat panel TV with satellite and HBO, stone fireplace, Sony Bluetooth speaker, and wireless Internet. The kitchen has been updated with a Wolf stove, stainless steel French doors fridge, and a beautiful black granite counter, with 6 bar stools. The original wood kitchen cabinet were kept in order to maintain the rustic "Tahoe cabin" look that we love! There is a hand-made table (built with recycled wood from a late 1800s house on Telegraph Hill) , which comfortably sits 8 people. The kitchen is fully equipped, including spices, dishes, pots, microwave, etc.
Off the main floor there are 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom (with bath). Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed, a large window and a glass door that leads onto a private deck overlooking the forest. Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed, and 2 large windows. There is plenty of closet space in both bedrooms. Additional linens, towels and blankets are stored in these closets. Additionally, we supply shampoos, soaps, toilet paper.
The top level has a loft, one master bedroom and one bathroom with black granite counter (with bath). The loft has amazing lake views, 2 full size futons, a coffee table and 2 sofa chairs.
The Master bedroom has a queen size bed, a twin size bed, an additional twin mattress (under the bed) and a toddler mattress (behind the bed) and it opens onto a private deck, which overlooks the forest.
The Hot tub is located outside, is accessible from all levels, and has a view of the lake and the forest. The hot tub is serviced by a professional hot tub cleaning company.
There is a 1 car garage, 2 cars can park in the driveway, and there is an additional 2 car parking at the street level (only in the summer months).
The house is located in Kingswood Estates (Kings Beach) at the edge of the forest -a hiking trail starts just behind the house. You will see chipmunks, bunnies, Steller's Jays and other local wildlife from the decks.
The house is a 2 min drive to the lake and Safeway, 8 min drive to Northstar, 20 min drive to Squaw Valley, and 5 min drive to the casinos in Nevada.
Please let me know if you would like an early check in and late check-out.
We do not offer long term season rentals (December to March).
Very spacious home with lots of room for everyone. Clean and well-appointed. Owner communicates well! One thing to note: the main entrance to the house is through the lower level, which is one room that has a bed and is therefore listed/advertised as a bedroom.
The property location is the best---- for winter and summer activities! We spent a full week there the last week in December, skiing and snowboarding at North Star and Incline.....a very short drive to both....and to the lake too. Many great recommendations for eating nearby too. Paola was so easy to communicate with the entire time. Graciously had a lot of wood available for the wonderful fireplace----which we used every day.... The decks were great, though during our stay, were covered with snow. As the description indicates, this is a 3 story home, with the entry on the ground floor----and the stairs could be difficult to maneuver for very young or elderly. Also, the driveway was pretty steep. Having the garage available for our car was a huge asset! Plenty of paper products available as well as kitchen and bathroom supplies. The living room, dining area, and the loft area---terrific for a large group. We all enjoyed our stay and the home very much!
The large deck was a very nice place to hang out. Lots of sitting areas and tables. A mix of old with the new. Beds were comfortable and a nice touch were the toys and books for kids. The only oddity is the fact you need to walk through a bedroom to get to the main living area at each level. This is a plus if you want to take a walk while everyone is still a sleep.
This home was unbelievably spacious for our two families and cozy enough to provide memorable family memories like having meals together in the beautiful deck. Nestled in the woods, it felt as a truly beautiful and comfortable getaway! We recommend this property for your family!
Paola was super - communicative and kind. We got 10 feet of snow in the December snowstorms in the Sierras, and yet the driveway had been cleared for our cars to get through to the house entrance. The hot tub was excellent as was the heating system. The location is very convenient for the ski resorts and amenities in the area. The house is large enough for over 10 people. We wished we could have used the deck in the sunshine but it was under literally 10 feet of snow! A magical winter wonderland. Highly recommended.
The property was just as described, and perfect for our multi-family ski vacation! Great for kids. Hot tub is nice after a long day of skiing. Paola is very responsive and easy to deal with. Thanks for a great stay!
Paola was absolutely great and understanding. We originally had the property booked for the end of August when the fires were happening, Paola graciously allowed us to reschedule our reservation. Paola was also kind enough for us to check in earlier and check out later. I love that the property had everything we needed in terms of utensils, plates, cups and even body wash, shampoo and conditioner. It was very thoughtful. It was a great experience.
Our family group of 6 adults, 4 kids, and 2 dogs stayed in July. The house was big enough to accommodate all of us comfortably with futons to spare! The deck and main living space are great and we had plenty of room to eat and play. The kitchen was well equipped to make big family style meals. We appreciated the games and books. Overall the house was very kid and pet friendly, aside from a set of stairs open on one side. The house was a short drive to the beach, and we really enjoyed evening walks on the forest service trails easily accessible in the lovely, quiet neighborhood. The house does not have A/C, and most of the windows do not have screens. In the 90+ degree heat the house got very hot during the day. It did cool down at night - but then we had bugs through the open windows. The upper and lower bedrooms have minimal ventilation options and were warm pretty late. There were two portable fans, which we put in those rooms. I think this would be a cozy house other times of year, but we probably would not rent in high summer again. Also, the only entrances to the home are through bedrooms up narrow stairs - the couple staying in the room with no door had to go through other people’s bedrooms to get in or out - not a big deal for our group but worth knowing in advance.
Paola’s house was perfect for a spring skiing trip to Northstar. Paola was very helpful and communicative. House could comfortably sleep 10 and was reasonably priced for the area. 5 mins from the grocery store and lots of cool hikes close by. Would definitely recommend!
Our host, Paola, was very responsive and helpful. We loved the hikes right from the front door, and our son found places to fish nearby. The lakefront at King’s Beach is also a nice scene. Don’t miss the Mexican market in town! All in all, we had a great stay.
