This was a nice place to stay!
The property was beautiful and the sound of the river was so relaxing! We had a wonderful time there! Some things to note: the master suite is in a loft space that's open to the living room, so not a lot of privacy. Outside, the deck is doesn't have a good way to block off the oversized step area, so we couldn't just let our dogs be out with us, without them being on a leash (one of them is a runner) The internet was fine for normal use, but when my daughter needed to be on a zoom call, we all needed to stop using the internet in order for her to have uninterrupted service, but it was fine for streaming and everything else we needed to do. All of these things are just for information - nothing I mentioned detracted from our stay. We would definitely stay here again - especially in the winter - the area is beautiful and the snow covered trees were magical! Leavenworth is a short drive - we went daily to enjoy the Christmas festivities there. The kitchen had basically everything I needed to make home cooked meal our entire stay (I did bring a crock pot, as there's not one on the property) I asked several questions both before and during our stay and always received prompt, helpful replies. We had a GREAT stay!
Nice big house, beautiful view, with a great location. 15 min drive to Leavenworth and 15 min drive to the snow park sledding area. Beautiful view of the river in a serene environment.
Still a nice place if you dont mind the occasional stink bug or spider, pictures look nicer than the place itself. The paths down to the river is very steep and the current is not safe. If you bring a dog make sure they cant get down there, they could get swept away.
This home is the perfect weekend getaway for fun! Right by the river, in the middle of the woods. House itself is charming, has plenty of space and amenities to enjoy. The driving instructions were clear and we were able to easily locate the house even in the night time. We loved that house offers different sleeping arrangements at each level, but no bathroom at the ground floor. Generally the house seemed clean, but not thoroughly. There were bugs and spiders around, which could be expected in a house in the woods, but needs attention. Bed sheets were clean, but the blankets had large stains, hair and even holes. Again, hair on some of the towels and on the floor around the corners, giving the impression that only a quick touch-up was done after the last guests. The kitchen is equipped with most things you would need, a toaster, coffee maker, full sized oven, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. Also, all the cleaning equipment was provided, including trash bags and dishwasher soap. Only two things were missing on our stay: a lighter/match to start fire with the wood burner and salt. Of course these are not the biggest things to miss, but you might need to be prepared especially for the lighter during the cold weather. The space heaters and wood burner were effective and heated up the space quickly. But be careful with the wood burner, we woke up with mysterious alarms in the middle of the night but couldn't figure out before it stopped. The house is right by the river and also offers great outdoor spaces, including a grill, multiple seating arrangements all around, and a hammock. From the balcony, you can take the stairs down to the river, which also offers another seating area. But the stairs were steep, narrow and had a couple loose ones! Definitely needs some repairs. Overall, we loved the place and enjoyed our 2-night stay.
We enjoyed this place so much! Everyone had fun playing in the creek and exploring the woods. Wild turkeys were pretty cool too! Loved all the wood interior. ** Difficulty seeing the Blue top of the mailboxes. Something more striking or colorful would be helpful. In gratitude, The Miller Family & dogs
This was a wonderful place for our family to stay! Had all the room and amenities we needed. Only downside was no AC but, the place cooled off quick in the evening for comfort while sleeping.
We stayed at this property for our annual family weekend. It was a great cabin. Clean & comfy. Great table for game night. Close to Leavenworth. We will definitely consider this location next year as well. Lots of snow so if your coming in the winter months definitely have 4WD or AWD. My only complaint would be that they don't answer questions posted to the VRBO site in a timely manner. I submitted a few different questions & I received an answer to only 1 of my question I asked a week prior on the 2nd day we were there.
We stayed with our dog and family over the New Year. Our stay left much to be desired. The bad outweighed the good. The good: the home is charming, though bathrooms are outdated, carpet stained (expected with a pet friendly home) and walls could use a coat of paint. It’s a beautiful location tucked away in the snowy woods. We had fun sledding down the driveway and playing in the snow. A nice neighbor removed the snow from the driveway with his snow blowing machine. There is plenty of space with an abundance of beds. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, utensils, bowls and plates. The bad: The bedding was clearly not laundered with dirt, crumbs and hair in the sheets and the bathtubs had soap residue and dead beetles in them. We had to strip the beds and wash the bedding and clean the showers using antibacterial hand soap as no cleaning supplies are provided. The fridge had an odor as did the house. We purchased glade plug ins to help. No dishwasher detergent was provided even though the check out instructions say to start the dishwasher. The TP was single ply and we didn’t have enough paper towels or garbage bags. There is a nice wood stove but no firewood. The trash outside was overflowing when we arrived and wildlife would get into it at night. I contacted the property manager by email about the cleanliness issues and they never responded. If you’re not up for being your own housekeeper before your vacation begins, I suggest you look elsewhere.
This was the perfect cabin in the woods for our family. There was plenty of space, bedding, beds, couches, and a good size family table. The scenery was spectacular. We were very comfortable. The house was a little outdated and could use a tiny bit of maintenance. The water was not good, bring your own drinking water. The supplies (salt, pepper, garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper) were sparce. We had enough to get by for a a few days, but there was no dishwasher soap. The customer service was excellent. The house was clean, the driveway was plowed, and the bedding/towels were clean. We shoveled the deck, but that was fun. At the last minute, we had a dog to bring, and they were very accommodating. We greatly appreciated the early check in, because our plan to hang out in Leavenworth did not work! There was no parking and traffic was a nightmare. If you plan on going to Christmas Town, I recommend getting an Uber.
The location was only 13 minutes from downtown Leavenworth which was great. Although a family friendly home the stairs in backyard that lead to creek are scary and not really kid friendly. House had an odor of a old home. Bed sheets were clean and so was the rest of the house. Sliding door locking system a little questionable.
We didn't end up loving this house like we had hoped, it certainly had it's charm and it's very big, (I think actually sleeps like at least 13?) but there were a few safety issues (no screens in giant windows above the king bed upstairs, and there were massive, toddler-sized gaps in the railing of the loft). I felt that entering through the garage every time was pretty spooky, and since you're right off the highway there really isn't any walkability at all, which was a bummer. It's also SO high up the hill from the creek with steep stairs we didn't even make it down with our kids. This might have been a better fit for a really large group with bigger kids. Also, the house was pretty clean but the garbage bins outside were overflowing and there was a layer of dog hair on the couches that I guess just was beyond fixing.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property overlooking the beautiful Peshastin creek. Plenty of room, loved having our dog, beautiful views, outside deck was awesome. We loved it.
Beautiful location right on Peshastin Creek which was roaring. Kitchen cabinets and drawers need some organization. Also suggest providing aluminum foil and ziplocs.
