My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at Buttercream Villa. The house is lovely--it is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. It was very clean. The pool is wonderful (we arranged to have it heated, which enhanced its wonderfulness.) The lanai is perfect for outdoor dining and watching the birds and wildlife that gather by the lake. The home is welcoming: When you walk in the front door, you are greeted on the right by a collection of books that appears to have been carefully curated for vacation reading and on the left by helpful information about the house and the surrounding area. Booking, checking-in and arranging for the pool to be heated were all easy. We felt very fortunate to have found this place--we are a bit concerned that this review will make it more difficult for us to reserve it again in the future.

We were so pleased with the location of the home, central to all the fields for my son's baseball tournament. The neighborhood was clean, quiet, safe and friendly. By far the best thing about the home was the outdoor space. We had a few issues that I will outline below, but overall I would say if they improved on some issues, we would definitely stay again. At first glance, the house seemed quite clean. The host texted upon our arrival and I even gave 5 stars. We unpacked our groceries and I set a box of donuts on the countertop in the kitchen. I went back an hour later and the box was covered in ants. The second evening I was sitting in the living room discovered ants when they began to crawl up my leg. Moving the area run and couches I found a lot of crumbs that had not been cleaned. So I found some bug spray under the sink in the kitchen and attempted to clean them up. I hate using bug spray. I complained to the host who offered to send a cleaning team. I didn't feel comfortable doing that, so I cleaned it up myself. The area rug needs replacement or REALLY needs a deep cleaning. It needs to be hung up and beaten to get all the crumbs out of it. I know this is Florida but I really think they may need to find a new pest control provider to treat the perimeter outside the home. We do that where we live in Texas and never need to treat for ants inside because they do such a good job outside. A/C unit struggled to keep up and now I'm out of space to write more.

The space was great. It was as described in the posting. It smelled fresh and was clean when we arrived. The pool was fantastic. Perfect for a family of five. We paid to have heat turned on and loved it. Vacasa was very responsive to my questions and sent someone out promptly when a door handle broke. We would stay here again. The neighborhood was quiet and nicely kept. It was also very close to restaurants, stores and beaches. The deck furniture was newer and nicer than what was in the posting. Bring beach towels as there weren’t many.

Plenty of room at this house, lots of sofa space as well as tables and chairs, inside and on the pool deck. Bedrooms (sleep maximum of 6) limit the occupancy number for this house, otherwise it could handle more. Trash container is too small and should be upgraded. Pool was great the first night and then it was chlorinated (in my opinion over chlorinated) and our grandchildren started getting multiple rashes from excess chlorine. Vacasa, or the contracted maintenance company wouldn't acknowledge the excess chlorine, but after another visit from the pool service company a few days later, the pool water was adjusted with added water and what appeared to be some chlorine neutralizer (noticeable salty taste in the water - probably from sodium thiosulfate). This proved successful and the skin rash problem disappeared. Unfortunately, this correction required way too many phone calls to get corrected and we lost 3 days of pool time. Were it not for this pool problem, I would have given this place 5 stars.
