Spacious home with private pool, hot tub, pool table & central AC

Highly recommend this house for vacation! Very clean and has everything you would need for your stay. One complaint is, I asked for the pool to be heated and it was not. Despite them telling me the heater was on, I know it was not! (I know about pools) Never kicked on once when we were down there. Pool service came out three days later, never addressed the hot tub, level way below jets. Tried to catch the pool service after we got back from the beach, was in and out before I could catch him. No refund for the heat charge, after multiple attempts of getting someone to come to the house to discuss the matter, no one came. Should of been more vocal about my complaint, but I on was on vacation. Just didn't want to deal with it. Recommend getting a new pool service!

We had 9 adults, 1 child and this home was adequate for us. It is tastefully decorated, plenty of seating in living and dining areas. The kitchen area is small but is adequately stocked, refrigerator is large. Although a 2nd full size refrigerator in the pool table room would be very helpful, we had to keep ice in a cooler down there all week to accommodate our needs. The bedrooms are small but provide alot of storage in dressers, hooks and closets. The only down side to us was only 1 bathroom for 3 bedrooms of adults to share especially when getting ready to go out or after a beach trip. We appreciated the outside hooks for towels and wet bathing suits. We spent alot of time hanging out at the pool as the hike over the dunes was a little rough for me being disabled. The pool is in need of an update but we enjoyed our time there. There's ample seating at the pool and on the decks.

The House of the Rising Sun was spacious, clean and well equipped. It was close to both the bay and the ocean. There was plenty of seating for the eight of us. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

My family and I loved our stay here. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed! We would love to see the mattresses replaced as they are noisy and not very comfortable. Also, the pool had not been vacuumed out before our arrival and was really sandy. Otherwise, we had such an amazing time and made wonderful memories (regardless of the weather from Tropical Storm Debbie). Thank you!

since the ocean was winding and rough the grandkids loved the pool and we felt comfortable since the deep end was only 5 1/2 ft. deep. Pool was kept clean as well as hot tub. Vacasa had the home clean and spotless. Loved the top living space...very open and spacious. Has billard table and plenty of bedrooms and one is great for kids since it has bunk beds. Overall a great stay.

This was our first time to the Outer Banks and although we came during the off season there was still plenty for us to do. Waves is smack dab in the middle of the Outer Banks so we did have to travel a bit North when we wanted to see horses and some historical sites. But there was NO traffic this time of year so it was very easy. We felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves, because we did! :) We didn't swim but we did fly kites and enjoy exploring the beach for shells and found a few hiking trails in Avon that we enjoyed. The house was lovely and although my parents didn't like how many steps there were we all really loved the house and felt right at home.

We had an amazing time at House of the Rising Sun. It had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. You can't go wrong with this house. It's in the perfect area. Thank you for opening your home to us and we cannot wait to come back next year. Vicasa was amazing and I highly recommend them as your rental agent.

We enjoyed staying at this house. Our in-laws are in their 70's so they struggled a bit with all the stairs to get in and out of the property but managed ok. We didn't pay extra to heat the pool so it was still a bit cool to enjoy it in May. We enjoyed the bulk of our time sitting on the beach and enjoying the relaxing waves. The beach access is just at the end of the street. We loved that there was not much traffic on this street. We also enjoyed going to eat at Waterman's Restaurant on Saturday so we could watch all the kiteboards. The three levels of the house allowed everyone room to relax. We liked the keyless entry so we could check-in when it was ready and we weren't worried about losing house keys. The top decks were great in the evening to watch the sunsets.

Not too happy with this house. The decks were on the wrong side of the house, there was absolutely no sun on the main deck at all. And the only deck to receive sun was a tiny deck. We ended up sitting in the driveway to get sunshine. The bathrooms were too small including the bathroom in the main bedroom. None of the tv’s worked properly! We asked for someone to come out for three days to fix the tvs but no one ever came. We ended up signing into our own apps to watch tv in this house. And it would have been nice to have some comfortable seating at the bottom level where the pool table was. But I did love the big open area on the main level. We were really disappointed about not having use of the deck.

Upon arrival the house is nice looking but there was inaccurate advertising about there being a basketball hoop and hair dryer as there was neither. We were also greeted by some dead roaches around the house which was alarming. We notified the management but other than apologies nothing else was done. The house is somewhat outdated but comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare meals, the beds were comfortable, the house was a short walk to the beach, the road was quiet, the enclosed pool area was inviting but the pool table was falling apart. Overall it was a good stay but we likely won't rent this home again.
