Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although the home was very large and would accommodate a lot of people, the communication prior to our arrival was extremely off-putting. There was a contract that required my initials in 43 different spots. The contract itself was intimidating. I was even required to provide the names of all my family members attending the 2 night stay. This, in my opinion is over the top and because of this, I will stay away from renting from this company in the future. The individuals I spoke with prior to our stay, were both understanding and affable and sensitive to our needs. Thank you for that. The house itself, once again, had more rules posted throughout the house along with the requirement to have us strip the beds and take the garbage out to the bin on a certain day. Again in my opinion, this is not what I pay a high price for; this is my vacation time. If I wanted to do housework, I'd have stayed home. Not appropriate at all.
Our group enjoyed the overall location and spaciousness of this lake house. It's close to everything we wanted to do, plus was in a beautiful setting on top of it! The kitchen had everything we needed, and then some. Beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have garage access to store our bicycles. We would definitely stay here again.
Plenty of room for everyone, great lake views, lots of games, kayaks and paddle boats we could use. Loved the firepit by the water. Well stocked kitchen. Great communication with the rental company.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was lovely and the location was ideal. Spider Lake is quite beautiful and we enjoyed the use of the kayaks, canoe, and pedal boat as well as swimming off the raft. It was also close to Traverse City and near enough to Interlochen Arts camp where one of our family members teaches in the summer to make it the perfect place to all get together. The house was extremely well kept and looked better than in the photographs. There was plenty of room for everyone to do things together and to separate at times. The kitchen was well equipped and having 2 refrigerators was great. We had room for everything and were able to cook almost all of our meals there. We hope to stay in Tippicanoe Lodge again next year.
House and location were great. Everything VRBO advertised was accurate. Accommodated 11 mature adults Living area roomy: kitchen well stocked. Issues: Living area VERY dark. 2 lamps with 3 way capability and 60 w bulbs: one overhead chandelier did not work: leaking shower head: remotes missing batteries: driveway plowed, but not scraped; therefore very icy. Dishwasher did not work. Three calls to Up North Rental Vacations to report issues: One call spoke with Lindsay who said owner would be by to address issues. Two calls re dishwasher: left messages. NO RESPONSE FROM UP NORTH RENTALS. Customer service lacking and therefore we will neither return to nor recommend this property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Second year for our group at this house. It is a great rental with plenty of room for 10 adults. The home was clean, in great shape and provided everything we needed to feed everyone on multiple occasions. The view of the lake was amazing from the kitchen & family room. The beds were comfortable and the game room provided enough activities and space for everyone to gather! Highly recommend.
Enjoyed our time at Tippecanoe residence. Very clean and spacious
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, a wonderful lakefront property! We had a great time on the lake and were pleased by how convenient the house is to Traverse City amenities. While the house served our large family well, we were disappointed with how it has been maintained, particularly on the outside. We stayed last year during the same week, and found many of the same concerns - broken furniture, cluttered unkept sunroom, damaged solar lights and dirty unsafe water equipment. Inside we found a disorganized kitchen (we addressed ourselves and left it in a much better state), cluttered utility closets (they just need to be emptied), slow drains and leaky faucets. It is worth noting we contacted Visit Up North and they promptly sent someone to address some of the immediate issues, but we felt most should have been identified and addressed BEFORE our arrival. Despite these complaints, we plan to rent again in 2023 - the size and location can't be beat! We look forward to seeing property improvements next year.
It was a very nice house and a great location. The kids went swimming in the lake even though it was cool when we were there. We alll had a great time.
Everything was great! Terrific location and Spider lake is a great all-sport lake. Would stay there again!
