We would not stay here again. I wish I had some info before I rented this house, so I hope this helps someone else for planning. The location is good, it’s in a cute little housing plan. There is no ocean or water view and it’s a pretty long walk or short car ride to the beach. To remedy this we rented a golf cart and made it fun 5 minute drive. The public beaches are marked well and most of them allow parking for a car or a golf cart on the side of the road As far as the house is concerned, i’ll start with the positives: The highlight of this house is definitely the outdoor area. The pool is a good size, and a good shape, with lots of spots to sit in the water to read or lounge. The area around the pool is nice with newer lounge chairs. It’s fenced in and you can get from the upper sun decks to the pool without going outside of the fence. That’s convenient if you are bringing your dog. The hot tub is old, the jets barely work, and there are no head rests, but it’s good for a soak. Multiple outdoor showers. The decks don’t offer a view of the ocean or a clear path to the sunrise or sunset but the view of the night sky and stars is fantastic. There are an about 6 Adirondack chairs spread out on the decks. The grill works and the propane was full. The kitchen is large with lots of room for cooking and eating. There were a lot of dishes and pots/pans. (One of the stove burners didn’t work.) There are two refrigerators including one off the swimming pool in the game room, as well as a sink, which was really convenient. The AC works well and we were never hot. Now for the negatives of the house: The set up of the house is good but it needs some MAJOR TLC. Most of the needed updates wouldn’t be expensive and would make a big difference. For example each bedroom has a sliding glass door leading to a deck or sun porch. The curtains they have over the sliding doors are hideous, filthy, and cheap. It would cost very little to replace these with clean basic curtains and it would look SO much better! Lots of little things could use fixing, cleaning, or replacing. For example the of the cabinets were missing some knobs. The furniture is old, and the house could use a good deep cleaning. (Not the weekly cleaning but a BIG There are TV’s in every room but only the TV in the game room is a Smart TV. Bring your fire stick or the like. Most of the TV’s are small and old but they do have HDMI plugs. The beds are old and noisy but comfortable enough for a week or two. (I’m not sure if this is true for the single beds.) There is a pool table in the game room although it’s very beat up, held together in spots with tape. One pool stick has a tip, but there are pool balls so it’s playable. The kitchen faucet broke while we were there (fixed and broke again). The sliding glass door in the living room to the front deck that has no stair access to the street, doesn’t lock. We reported it but I’m sure this was an old
Great house to host our two families. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and close location to the beach. It’s a well used house at the beach so it isn’t expected to be perfect, but it suited our needs very well. There are boardwalks close to the house that make the beach trip less than 10 minutes on foot. All in all a good place to stay!
Great place to stay. Close to beach and nice to swim the private pool afterwards. Overall great vacation!
House is big, but definitely needs little maintenance.. also furniture is old.. couches need to be replaced
Our first encounter was trying to get in to the house. It took over 2 hours and the access code was never fixed during the entire stay. Each time we exited we hoped no one would break in. Some suggestions would be to add a table lamp in the den, Also I was under the impression that the house was on the ocean side. You might want to clarify it is not. A guest book would have been helpful. TV channels and TV operations would have been helpful. A list of local restaurants would be good. But overall we had a great experience sharing a week with family. The pool was wonderful after being on the beach!!
The stove needed repair and sometimes the burners worked and then they did not- Guy came but was sent away due to dog being at house The hot tub stopped working The downstairs shower did not work There were no sheets for the master bedroom and we had to purchase them and the blanket did not fit the bed Vaccumn cleaner did not work Trash bins were overflowing when we arrived the bannisters were very dirty required cleaning when we arrived there was a boxed TV in the pool table room sitting in the floor - we did not touch it There was mold on wall and trim by the sliding doors in living room
Our little family of 3 (2 adults, 1 2 yo, 1 dog) stayed here for 3 nights 5/2-5/5. The house was nice but there was a few issues. Our check in time all of a sudden changed from 4pm to 6pm on the day we were scheduled to arrive. The biggest issue we had with the house was using the stove, maybe it just heats up extremely extremely slow idk but thank goodness for the grill. A lot of the remotes for the TVs had dead batteries, almost dead, died while we were there or had no batteries at all so we did purchase a small pack of batteries. I wish there was another kitchen trash can in the game room, there was also no trash can in the bathroom on game room floor. There was no trash can at the pool area or downstairs anywhere except the outside large dumpsters. So make sure you bring extra plastic shopping bags for trash or a few extra trash bags. The house had most stuff you would need such as dish soap, new dish sponge, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent (no dryer sheets), towels, linens, handsoap. No pool or beach towels, bring those. We did bring our dog with us and there was some old dog poops on the properly (in the fenced in area & outside yard). I cleaned up after my own dog and even picked up some of the old poop too.. gross. There was 2 wooden boards that were coming off the fence and like hanging crooked, my dog actually got his head stuck through it being nosey and I had to help him get out. If you have a smaller dog it’s possible your dog could get underneath the house from the back pool area (There’s a gap between the lattice and the ground where dog could go under if small enough or wanted to squeeze through) or out through the 2 crooked boards on the fence so be careful. We had a great trip and really enjoyed the area. The weather was perfect! We did enjoy the house a lot and the things I’ve noted are just things I noticed while staying. Our 2yo son especially loved running all the stairs, the bunk beds, playing with the hose & going swimming. We are a small family who stayed at this large house just for fun and to have the private pool & hot tub. Our home is small with no stairs except the porch steps. We would not stay here again unless there was more people with us, it was too much steps for us and hard to chase a 2yo around the house. Our legs were sore just from bringing everything in from the car the first night we got there lmao add the beach and I think this may be the first vacation I lost some weight.
