This small town, located north of New Orleans, is filled with wonderful locally owned restaurants, festivals of all sorts, live music, city block parties, and is an outdoor paradise with the Bogue Falaya River running through it. There are kayak rentals to spend the day on the river or rent a bike and ride the Tammany Trace, which connects to surrounding towns on the Northshore. For families, you can visit Global Wildlife in nearby Folsom, LA where you’ll encounter ~3,500 exotic animals from all around the world! Gator life not your thing Then be sure to visit the Bogue Falaya park with meandering paths along the river, a kayak launch, and a community-built playground for the kids to play on. But first stop by Butter Krisp Donuts and load up on these deliciously dangerous treats! Some of our favorite eateries are sprinkled throughout the town. Pizza Man serves hand-tossed pizzas! Be sure to dine-in and let the kids watch the tossing show through the glass window, with the jukebox playing old tunes. Coffee Rani has something for everyone from pastas, to sandwiches, to outstanding salads. You’ll enjoy the dessert case options as well…be sure not to pass on the coconut cake! Get a real sense of what life in the bayou is like by eating at Chimes restaurant on the Bogue Falaya River. Boardwalks lead to the river where you can head out on a river adventure in a kayak rental. If finer dining is more your forte, Del Porto, Lola, or Dakota will please your tastebuds. Abita Roasting or Matina Bella will begin your days with a fantastic breakfast! Too many restaurants to name them all. Trust us, you won’t starve!
But if that’s not enough for you to explore, you can visit New Orleans just 40 miles south of Covington. You’ll use the 24-mile long bridge to cross Lake Pontchartrain to get to the southshore. There you can continue your exploration of the unique culture of south Louisiana. Enjoy beignets at the historic, iconic Cafe Du Monde, and stroll the streets of the French Quarter where you’ll find unique art, street performers, and uniquely New Orleans shops. Be sure to visit the St Louis Cathedral. Dine in some of the finest restaurants in the world, or take a walk along the mighty Mississippi River. We really enjoyed our visit. The home was very spacious for our family of four. The bedrooms were large, the kitchen had ample space, and the living room was a great gathering area. Overall, the home was very comfortable with good supplies. The location was convenient and quiet. And, Jennifer was very responsive. We look forward to another visit in the future.
This property was exactly what we needed to house our guests for 10 days. They were so impressed and loved the property. They loved how close it was to downtown. The owners are wonderful and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this place for your next vacation.
We stayed in the home for 9 nights. The purpose of our stay was to have a quiet, comfortable place for our 19 year old daughter to recover after a very complex inner ear surgery that required her to be on complete bedrest for 5 days post surgery. We couldn't have asked for a better home. It is spacious, very clean and well furnished. Communications with the owner were easy and responses were prompt. Should we ever need to return to the area again, we will absolutely stay here again. Both the owner and the home made what could have easily be a stressful experience as pleasant as it could possibly be.
My parents, husband, sister and I stayed for 5 days to visit my father's brother & sister who live nearby; the house was a wonderful home base for us, with plenty of room for all of us and very comfortable bedrooms. The neighborhood is a mix of renovated homes and some that still need work, but it was very quiet and felt safe. Single-level living was ideal for my elderly parents as well!
Great location to take in all Old Covington has to offer Trace, restaurants, shops, music, street fairs, river landing. Spacious house and as advertised. Perfect for our extended family!
Clean and roomy. We had a family reunion to visit family in covington and had other relatives rented other places around covington and this by far is the best one. Everyone wanted to stay at this one. Lots of room, clean, and quiet safe neighborhood. Next time everyone will be fighting to rent this place. This will be our first option if we visit back to covington.
I arrived to the property and was pleasantly surprised with the exterior of the home. Once I went inside, I was immediately apparent that the pictures did not do justice to the home. All of the rooms including the living room, kitchen and dining room were much will it be larger than I expected. Everything was very clean and the communication with the host was perfect. One of my best friends lives in the area and when I go back, I will see if this property is available. Had a really great experience and look forward to another trip to New Orleans.
Quiet neighborhood and great location. Very roomy and very comfortable beds. We will visit again.
Older home very thoughtfully updated. Squeaky clean. Host is great.
This home was the best I've stayed in with all my work/vacation trips. It is very spacious, clean, updated, convenient, and comfortable. The location was perfect for the three of us who were working nearby for the week. The beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood adorable. THANK YOU!
Everything was great. We loved the house, kitchen, beds, baths and the neighborhood.
Spotless and comfortable with everything we needed. Great host.
We truly found this home to be everything that we had hoped for! It was within walking distance to restaurants, shops, churches and grocery stores! There are lots of things to do and see and it allowed us to be near to our son. And family for great visits! The owner helped us with a minor problem immediately and was extremely pleasant! We loved the spaciousness and the beds were super comfy! We’ll be back!
BeauxTree Cottage was a great place to stay, and it accommodated our 6 adult/1 child family perfectly. My communications with the host were all done prior to our stay, and they were always handled efficiently. Everything was in order, clean, and looked exactly like the photos. The location was great and we shopped, visited restaurants and returned daily to a comfortable place after a long day. The best of all were the comfortable top of the line bedding! Great mattresses, pillows and bed linens! New appliances, adequate towels, and everything you need. We used the sunroom as a 4th bedroom, and even the daybed was comfortable for sleeping. There were 3 perfectly decorated bathrooms which is so great for a large group. The kitchen was also newly designed and served us well. We made sure to put the garbage out on Wednesday just as requested. The only thing I missed from this place is having televisions in the bedrooms, but that’s my personal preference though. To top it off, BeauxTree Cottage was reasonably priced and gave superior value for its cost. We will stay again when traveling to Louisiana. I recommend you won’t regret staying if you select BeauxTree Cottage.
Would definitely recommend this bungalow. Lots of space and well maintained. Quiet neighborhood. Plenty of parking space area and has a back yard to enjoy. Great central location. Has everything you need to have a memorable stay.
