We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful townhome just 15 minutes from all of Boston’s greatest hits. There was plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy and the giant parking driveway was so convenient! (Parking in Boston and it’s surroundings is nuts otherwise). Also great proximity to all of Boston’s institutions of higher learning. We would definitely stay again!
Excellent
This house was the perfect location and size for our multi-generational trip to Boston. The house has a ton of space to spread out (3 floors) so no one got in the way of each other. It is in a cute neighborhood with a short walk to grab coffee/tea and to a Trader Joe's for groceries. We loved the overall feel of the house as it was very welcoming and clean. Thank you!
The house was perfect for my family and me. We stayed for a week to attend our daughter’s graduation celebrations from college. We was so happy to be able to bring our dog. The house is spacious and comfortable and the location in Allston is convenient. We really liked the entire vibe of the house and neighborhood. Michelle is a very responsive and helpful host. We would definitely stay again!
Large, modernized townhouse, pet friendly with a small fenced in area and parking! Can’t imagine how we would have managed in the ice storm without the driveway parking!
Michelle and VRBO made the check in process super easy! This home was very convenient for what we needed: going into Boston, Cambridge, and visiting family in Concord. Rooms were spacious enough, and everything was recently redone (including heat and wiring), so even though the house is old it certainly didn’t feel it. My one recommendation to hosts is to update their kitchen supplies; they are obviously not doing too much home cooking. Get a good peeler, grater, liquid measuring cup, and casserole dish. The plates are all mismatched; for 1,000 a night it would nice to have matching glassware and dinnerware. If you’re not planning to cook at home everything else was fantastic!
We were looking for a place close to Harvard for Family Weekend. You can walk to Harvard Yard from the property but the walk takes about 25 minutes so an Uber is more reasonable and they are easy to get. The Harvard (south campus) Alston campus and athletic fields are only about a 10 minute walk from the house. The house is part of a duplex with the owner living next door. We did not feel that having the owner next door inhibited our enjoyment of the property. For the most part we only used the house for sleeping and eating breakfast. Other than that, we spent most of our time away from the property. The house served our purposes. The only drawback we had was that the wooden stairs in the house are a little loud and creaky. If you are a light sleeper, you will likely be woken up at night if anyone in your party goes up or down the stairs. We rented a car so the fact that the house has a driveway to park on was nice because street parking is limited. However, I would recommend not getting a rental car because Ubers are widely available and they avoid the need to find parking when you are out and about in the city. Even if you drive your own car to the property, it is still easier to use Ubers and public transportation to get around most of the popular tourist spots in the city.
No complaints. There are plenty of shopping or eating opportunities a short drive away, but the immediate neighborhood is very quiet. The house was quite comfortable, once we got the heat going, in fact the upper floors became quite warm. It was just what the family needed.
This house was great for our stay. The location was close to our event, close to grocery stores and although a bit of a walk to light rail/subway, we did use both nearby lines, which brought us in downtown easily. The house sleeps 8 comfortably. The kitchen was beautiful-- nicely remodeled with excellent appliances. Back patio was nice. We'd return.
We had a great experience, Michelle made everything very easy. The house is spacious and the off street parking is a huge plus. It’s in a great location: walking distance to restaurants, a grocery store (Trader Joe’s), and the T (about 3/4 of a mile from the Harvard Ave. stop). The house was exactly as advertised and served as a great base for exploring Boston. House was clean and had everything we needed. I highly recommend!
