This one level home is ideal for a long vacation, or quick weekend getaway with family or close friends. The house sits on a two-acre forested lot and is situated at the back of the property, away from the road and noise. The home is located at the edge of the Deschutes National Forest and is very close to the Deschutes, Little Deschutes and Fall rivers, and the area we are in is known as “Three Rivers”. The house has a covered hot tub along with many separate sitting areas for viewing the plentiful wildlife, or quiet time reading a book. Sunriver Village is only a ten-minute drive away, with shopping, restaurants, and a small grocery store. There is a local elk herd that visits the property often and they are a site to see with about 30 to 40 in the group. There are also plenty of deer, rabbits, squirrels, racoons, chipmunks, and birds to keep you company, depending on the season.
The large master bedroom has its own full bathroom and a separate entrance. The second bedroom has a queen bed that sleeps two and the third bedroom has a single bed that can easily be converted to a king that also sleeps two people. The bunk room has two full size bunk beds (full size beds, top and bottom bunks) with single trundle beds on the bottom that can be pulled out, sleeping up to six people comfortably. The bunk room has a pool table, a 55-inch television, a small couch, and is a perfect place for the kids to hang out. The living room has a queen couch hide-a-bed that sleeps two. All bedrooms, the living room, and the bunk room have televisions, 5 televisions in all. There is an 85-inch television in the living room for family viewing (or football). There is a see-through propane fireplace in the living room that is see through to entrance nook, along with electric wall heaters in every room. There is a propane fire pit and propane Weber grill on the deck to enhance your stay. Wi-Fi is available and is on a satellite service. The service is not bad, but it does have bandwidth limitations if too many people log on at the same time.
We purchased this house while looking for a vacation home for our family in the Sunriver area. We love that our house is on a two-acre lot and that it is set at the back of the property. Our neighbors’ houses directly at the back of the property are set toward the road on their side, so there is a lot of space between the houses. There is also an empty forested lot on one side of the property and a recreational lot on the other side. It is very quiet and peaceful most of the time. There are two ponds, one on each side of the property and they fill with water in the spring. They make good sledding hills in the winter and usually dry out by mid-summer. The wildlife uses them for drinking in the spring and the water eventually ends up in our well reservoir. The house has a septic system, and the well water is primarily used for showering and doing dishes. The water from the well contains a lot of iron and we have a water treatment system that removes it with salt, so the water tastes a little salty. We have a service that provides large format bottles of drinking water along with a dispenser. The water from the well is safe to drink but we don’t like the salty taste very much.
There is so much to do while on vacation here. Depending on the season, you can site see, enjoy Sunriver resort, boat, visit the volcanic caldera, fish, kayak, hike, hunt, ski, snowboard, snowmobile, watch wildlife, relax, hot tub, dine out, barbeque, star gaze, play pool, etc. This house is the perfect “homebase” for a terrific family vacation. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do and treat it as if it was your own home. We will do our best to make sure your vacation is the best it can be.
