Do not rent this property. I have attempted contact the property host to seek a refund for one night stay and the cleaning fee. The property was filthy and the home has been unmaintained. Please see photos.

My family wanted to be under the same roof for a couple of days for puzzle time, cooking and eating together, etc. The kitchen needs some TLC in particular. For example, ice maker didn't work, things were not clean, kitchen supplies in the cabinets and drawers were a mess. It wouldn't take much but this place was $1800 per night! and for that, you expect cleanliness.

First of all, we were grateful that we could check in 1 day early at a discounted rate. This house was listed as big and we needed the space because our daughter was getting married. Unfortunately our early check in turned into us having to clean the entire house. There was trash left everywhere. The bathrooms were utterly disgusting. One of the toilets actually had fecal matter on the seat. Both kitchen counters were wiped down with dirty rags. The mirrors were smudged and the one in the entry had a kiss imprint on it. The closets in all the rooms had the owners personal items in them including a 100 gal. dirty fish tank, bags of trash and medical records. On the third night we were watching tv and my son opened a box on the table. To our surprise there was a pair of dirty panties and an inmates picture inside. We contacted the property manager immediately, she apologized and said that they were firing the cleaning crew. She also said we could expect a partial refund for our trouble. We took pictures of everything and sent them to her. She seemed sincere and extremely concerned but never offered to come get the box or reclean the house. When we checked out we were told again that we would expect a partial refund they were just waiting to speak with the owner. Three days later a message through VRBO stated that since we got a discounted rate for early check in they thought a $50 refund would be enough. Really? Not even the cleaning fee? Wish we could submit pictures
