Sleek Mountain Luxury Home w/ Dock Slip & Fire Pit

Property was nice for a family holiday get away, but some details were missed. Master suite was quite cold and the space heater provided did not function properly. Several light bubs were out. Bathrooms other than the master were cramped and awkward (especially the tub/shower serving the bedrooms over the kitchen. The was dog poop on the deck, despite this being advertised as a pet free property. Also, garbage was left around the fire ring that we ended up cleaning up. Finally, the proprerty manager was very lean on supplies--half rolls of single ply TP were available on arrival plus a single roll of paper towels. No hand soap available on arrival either. None of these were show stopping issues, but we did expect a bit more care given our prior VRBO experiences.

Overall: fun

If you are going to book, do NOT book through VRBO. This house rental is managed by Railey Vacations in Deep Creek and you will be paying 2 ‘service fees’ when booking, several hundred dollars to VRBO and then whatever Railey charges, so save yourself money and book direct through Railey. The house layout is nice but lacking in general maintenance. Little things throughout the house are broken, the ‘game room’ isn’t functional (no ping pong net, all the paddles were damaged anyway, the pool table is child size, and the fuse ball handles are all broken off), and while the house says it will accommodate 13 guests with beds, in no way is the current plumbing system able to keep up. Had to stagger showers hours apart due to no water pressure, no hot water, or no water in general.

We really enjoyed this home. Someone mentioned how it looked like an hgtv dream home and it did! The three fireplaces were wonderful as we had some cold weather during our stay. We had some great family time with the hot tub, foosball and pool. A few minor things - there was not enough propane in the tank to grill. The propane was turned all the way in the on position when we arrived so maybe that’s why. That was a little disappointing since we’d planned on grilling. One way we think the house could be improved a little is to provide some staples that we have always found in rentals: salt and pepper, at least one hand soap, some tin foil, plastic wrap, maybe some cleaning spray for the counters, those kind of things. We were caught flat footed on that and for the price and quality of this home would have expected some of those little extras. Otherwise a perfect stay and would definitely come back here if in the area again!

It was beautifully decorated, situated in a great location (less than a mile from the boat dock), clean and maintained very well, wonderful games/pingpong table/hot tub, etc. We had a fun time boating, hiking at the local state park, and lounging in the house. The only thing I would have liked was extra special items (i.e., dish soap, laundry detergent, dish washing pods, etc.) since we came from very far out of town, and it's easy to forget those things, but definitely not a setback. I would highly recommend this house to anyone, and we hope to come back! Just beautiful!
