Located with easy ski-in/ski-out access off the Texas flats run from Angel Fire Resort, (a short run that turns off of then back onto Heading Home, please see photos for map) this home is the perfect location for those who enjoy the finer things on their vacation.
Designed by architect David Webber, the house was created to be a luxurious family home for the enjoyment of the great outdoors. Sitting on over an acre of green space perched dramatically above the Moreno Valley and offering breathtaking views of Wheeler Peak from 20-foot walls of windows and over 1500 sq feet of multiple-level steel and concrete decks this is a one-of-a kind masterpiece. Four bold fireplace designs by a French artist invite lounging indoors, while a soaring balcony upstairs encourages stargazing.
The Modern Chalet has sleeping capacity for up to 25 people, and features five spacious bedrooms plus two hallway bunk areas, five bathrooms, four designer fireplaces, a well-appointed professional kitchen, a media/game room complete with surround sound, x-box, DVD player, and 65 Inch TV. With three expansive decks that overlook the Moreno Valley and Wheeler Peak, a luxurious hot tub that seats 8 and stunning high-beamed living room that boasts an artistic fireplace, the Modern Chalet is the complete package for the most discerning traveler. Witness a sunset better than an oil painting as you gaze upon the “Angel Fire” from one of our four balconies and decks or seated in the comfort of our 8 person hot tub, with the majestic Wheeler peak in the background.
The Main Level Living offers an open floor plan so that those cooking in the professional kitchen can enjoy the warmth of the wood burning French-designed fireplace and watch the game on the big-screen smart TV. Look upwards to enjoy the massive wood-and-steel beam construction and unwind with a glass of wine in a Williams-Sonoma stemware glass from our wine cabinet as you lounge on brand new Room and Board sofas. Look outwards from the kitchen to the slopes and see for miles to the distant mountain ranges without another home in sight while the serenity of the aspens and pines surround you. Enjoy your favorite tunes by direct streaming them to the Sony soundbar. In summer, open the dual 12-foot glass doors and step out to the three separate steel main-level decks offering spectacular views of the Moreno Valley and Wheeler peak.
The kitchen, conveniently open to both the 8-seating dining table and living room, offers seating for 16 easily, with both a bench and table arrangement and bar seating. Experience top-notch meal preparation on our 48-inch commercial Wolf stove with double ovens and grill, Bosch dishwasher, double sink with pull-down stainless faucet, large-capacity refrigerator with built in water filter and ice-maker, crockpot, roaster, blender, 60-second boil teapot. The lower level is where you can send the kids after dinner, to enjoy watching a movie on the big screen, playing on the wii or xbox 360, or playing ping pong.. Littler ones might enjoy lounging in the library room with their own TV and DVD player. We had an amazing stay at the modern chalet! We had 8 adults and 7 young kids. This property is right off the run… we did have to dig a trench out in the snow to get to the run because we’d had a lot of snow just before we came. You are able to ski right to the house at the end of the day. The house was so spacious- lots of beds and comfortable sleeping arrangements, and love it living space too! The home owners were super helpful throughout our entire stay! Would definitely recommend this with young kids and large groups! What a fun stay!

This ski in ski out property was absolutely amazing! We had 9 adults and 7 kids and plenty more room to be had. Every couple had their own bedroom with bathroom. Lots of room to play games and eat together! We will rent this property again, that’s for sure.

We were lucky enough to grab a short stay here when our other reservation cancelled last minute. The host was super responsive, and very welcoming. The house is at the top of the mountain, but due to the great snow we were able to easily ski out. We cooked most of our meals and the kitchen is really well stocked and the house is neat and well cared for. The TVs were easy to use and internet was super fast for streaming. Would definitely stay again!

This home has a Ring camera inside that was not listed on the description when I made our booking. It is out in the open, on the top of a hutch that faces the front door. The owners sent me a picture of the area that the camera views. The camera is viewing a roughly 4foot by 4 foot area inside the home. I would not have rented this home if I had known there were indoor cameras of any sort. Taking the trash where it is supposed to go is a 30 minute ordeal. It has to be driven in your personal car to the designated trash drop off spot. This is not a pet free home. When I booked this property the listing said no pets. But, pets have definitely been in the home. There was a large dog bed under the King sized bed in the Teal bedroom. We found several dog toys in the home. There was pet carpet cleaner in the laundry room and pet hair in the gold bedroom. The gold bedroom is so tiny. It does not have a closet. The person staying in the gold room will need to store their belongings somewhere outside of the bedroom. The “full size sleeper couch” in the office is small, awkward and uncomfortable. No one over the age of 6 could sleep in it. The Teal bedroom has a window that opens and closes to the main living room. The Red bedroom has a sliding door that opens to the kitchen and a window that opens to the main living room. It should be noted that even when these openings are closed they do not seal out noise. Any noise that is made downstairs can be heard loud and clear by the people in these bedrooms. The cabinets and closets in this home are packed full of stuff. Don’t plan on using a closet to keep your belongings in.

Beautiful and very functional property! Our family loved the ski in/ski out convenience, the backyard sledding, daily visits by deer, wonderful conversation by the fireplace. The view from all the many windows was magnificent and the sunsets were spectacular. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Nice House, but it is not convenient for our group. We had kids from 2 to 13, all mostly new skiers, and were not able to ski out or in from the house. So, we had to haul all of them down to the VERY busy ski area base, that was a 15 min+ drive each day. If your group was older or mostly adept skiers, the house would be great, as you could all ski in/out. The house: Wasn't as big as the pictures made it look. Kitchen area is small. Counters needed to be cleaned and overall just not as clean/nice as it seemed it should have been for the money. Keurig didn't work so had to get coffee. Wood was wet/green so hard to get a fire going and keep it going in the fireplace. Weird strong smell the first day/night in the basement and stairs to basement, it did finally go away though. Kids did love having their own area on bottom floor/basement. They also loved the deer that would come up begging for food. Overall the house was fine, but the location was very inconvenient for the makeup of our group.
