There are extra linens, beach towels, air mattresses, comforter sets in the closet in the laundry room if needed. Towels can also be found in the upstairs bathroom closet. All the sheets and beds are clean, and ready to use. The dresser downstairs has games and puzzles in it that can all be used (My family likes to get into the wine and play catchphrase!). The Tv runs off the internet, but you can get almost anything, if you find there is something you can’t, let me knows for I can try to walk you through it. The little Roku remote is all u need to operate the tv, (volume is on the side). The water there is on a well and tested very well. We ask that you please please help to protect the septic system, by flushing nothing but toilet paper down the toilets, and no oil butter grease, or food down the sinks. All of that can be put in the trash. As far as trash goes, Sunapee doesn’t have to pick it up, and we have to bring it to the dump there. If you would kindly help separate any recycling that would be very helpful, as they are very strict. There are bins in the closet when you first walk in for cardboard glass cans etc. All trash can be left on the front Porch when you leave.
The WiFi is Lakeview, and the password is Lakeview1.
The closest grocery store is Shaw’s in Newport. Hannafords in new London is also close by (and has a liquor store next door the one next to Shaw’s is closed due to Covid).
We own all the land from the main road to the point, so you are free to roam around. My kids love to sit out on the rocks at the point.
There is a shared fire pit out by the point you are welcome to use, and also a portable metal pit next to the grill, we usually move down to the beach.
If you like pizza, You must try Ziggys pizza at the top of the road.. Is amazing. I highly suggest the Big Macnamara... It tastes like a Big Mac and is incredible!
If you are interested in walking if you go through ziggy's parking lot and all the way down Hamel road there are some really pretty trails that go around the lake back there. It is a nice easy relatively flat hike.
The key will be in the lockbox on the left side of the front door. The code is 5168. Please put the key back in the lockbox when leaving.
Please if you have any questions, or there is anything I have left out, or you are looking for something and wondering if I have, please do not hesitate to ask. Please make yourselves at home and enjoy the lake! Hoping you get some beautiful weather! Cheers—- Nick
Beautiful spot on Mountainview lake with lovely beach and easy water access. We kayaked every single day and water was clear and clean. Lake Sunapee State park beach 5 minutes away for a day at the beach. Kitchen well equipped and with seating for a crowd. We also enjoyed taking our dogs on hikes on Mount Sunapee and morning walks on trails on opposite side of the lake. Not a great option for working remotely- poor AT&T service (though apparently Verizon better) and no chair/desk or tables near outlets except one corner of the kitchen. Which maybe forced us to relax and get outside more than we planned!
My family and I stayed at this property the last week of July. Check in process was extremely easy. The home was very clean and well equipped with all the necessities. The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out every morning. My family brought their fishing poles and were able to catch some fish right off the private dock. I enjoyed my time sitting on the outdoor patio and reading a good book and enjoying the beautiful views. If you have the chance swing by Sanctuary Dairy Farm for some delicious ice cream! All in all we enjoyed our time on the lake and had a very relaxing week!
What can I say about this place? The pictures don’t do the beauty justice. Waking up and looking out on the lake every morning was such a treat. Nick was an amazing host, and readily available for anything you would need. We ran out of propane and Nick had someone come drop some off the next day. The house is very well kept, cozy but spacious. We enjoyed family meals (8 of us) at the large dining table in the kitchen. I would highly recommend this property to everyone who reads this. 10/10! Can’t wait to come back.
Dog friendly- we set up a little fence for 1 door so they could relax too. Kitchen was spacious & well stocked. Bedroom was comfy. Very relaxing vacation. Beach area is very nice. A small fire pit. It has a BBQ grill outside. We brought pop up to put over the exterior table to get out of rain. Great location.
Very clean and beautiful home on small lake. Enjoyed the paddleboards and the beach. Host was quick to respond.
