Cute cabin that worked perfectly for our group of parents, grandparents and one child. Lots of apples on the property, which we enjoyed.
We chose Dovetail for our annual Girls Fall Fest Weekend and we were so happy we did! We did have one very minor setback...the morning of our arrival, Terry went to make sure everything was ready for us and discovered that the furnace had quit. He did everything he could to get it fixed but was unable to get parts. He called me right away to let me know what was going on and gave me some options: he could install space heaters or we could cancel and he'd refund us. We weren't about to miss Fall Fest and our much-needed Girl Time, so we opted for space heaters. We were perfectly comfortable the entire weekend! (Well, I was chilly one morning because I forgot to turn the heater on in my bedroom LOL) The cabin and grounds are beautiful! We watched a trio of deer munching on apples while we drank our morning coffee, wrapped up in cozy blankets on the sun porch to read and have a glass of wine, enjoyed a fire in the back yard fire pit, slept in SUPER comfy beds and overall had a fantastic time. I loved the claw foot tub! And with 5 women, it was great to have two bathrooms and mirrors in the bedrooms! On behalf of my aunts, cousins and myself, THANK YOU Terry for sharing this wonderful place with us! We can't wait to come back!
It was our first time visiting Door County. Staying at your rental added to our experience.
This was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Just a few minutes away from downtown, beaches and fishing, it is the perfect location to stay. The house was complete with everything we needed, including a Weber grill on the deck and a fire pit in the yard. A true hidden gem in Sister Bay.
We loved the Little House on the Prairie log cabin home with all of the comforts. Perfect location and private with beautiful grounds. Terry responded immediately with any of our questions. We will definitely be back!
Clean neat and conveniently located close to downtown Sister Bay
Nice place, very clean
It was cool in many ways. The temps, the cabin, things to see & do and good friends,
Delighted to discover this cabin! The location is convenient, yet still tucked away to provide privacy with peace and quiet. We will be returning to this property!
We've stayed here multiple times, and love everything about this house, and the property! The location is perfect as well, 1 mile from downtown Sister Bay! We'll definitely attempt to stay here again in our next trip to Door County! Certainly recommend this property!
Absolutely fantastic place! Stayed here mid-May for our annual Girl's Weekend. There were a few snafus beyond Terry's control before we arrived but he went above and beyond and the trip came off without a hitch. The house was secluded yet such a short drive to everything we wanted. It was clean and well stocked. I think this was the first trip in over 20 years that we didn't even think about turning on the tv. We played games and cards at the table and hung out on the porch and decks. Another first - my 82 year-old Mom was extremely pleased with having multiple lamps bright enough and placed correctly to read by! Probably another reason the tv wasn't used. The stairs are a bit steep but if you take them slow it's fine. We will be booking for next year for sure. Thank you Terry and Linda!
We so enjoyed the rustic beauty, peace and quiet of this home, which is also just 2 miles or so to Sister Bay. An easy drive or bike to a fish boil, to Chop and Lure for dinners, to church, down to Bjorklunden and Dunes State Park, up to Ellisons & Rowleys, pecan rolls at Gramma's Bakers, this secluded true log cabin is equidistant to it all in DC. Thank you, Terry for your eye for design, craftsmanship, and this gift you are sharing with us.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming log home. We were so cozy and comfy - they had thought of absolutely everything. Would love to go back!!
Had a great time, close to a lot of places.
My family enjoyed our annual Door County vacation at this beautiful cabin. The property is quiet and serene. Thank you for the hospitality.
Very nice. Large enough to have space for everyone. Screened in porch was very nice. Owners were very easy to work with.
Owner very responsive to our needs.
Perfect for a landing spot st the end of the day. Enjoyed watching hummingbirds from the two decks & playing games on the screened porch. Fire pit was great for roasting marshmallows.
The description doesn’t do this home enough justice! Beautifully decorated, bright, airy, relaxing…just a few of the many words I would add. And while it’s in a quiet meadow surrounded by woods, the hustle and bustle of Sister Bay fun is just minutes away. It’s so lovely we’ve already planned a return for next year.
We absolutely loved this property. The house is adorable inside and out, surrounded by amazing trees/nature. We sat out on the deck almost every morning, drinking our coffee and listening the birds sing. The 'sunroom' was great in the evening, where you can still enjoy the fresh air but not get eaten by bugs. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my parents who were older and have some difficultly with stairs. We also love how you decorated the house - every piece of decoration was well suited to the house. The property is also in a great location - very near Sister Bay, Ephraim and Fish Creek. The owner, Terry, was very helpful and easy to reach. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Very cute and had the feeling of being secluded!
This beautiful log cabin was perfect as a launch point for our family’s Door County adventures. Although close to Sister Bay, you feel like you are miles away due to the peaceful, quiet setting. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed to enjoy breakfast and to pack a lunch before heading out for the day. It was great to know that after the “busyness” of the day we could come back to a quiet place where the six of us could spread out and relax. Thanks for the great stay!
