This was our second stay with the Lees! This is by far the best property we have stayed in! Their home is a perfect property for our family. From the fully stocked kitchen (spices included!) to the many toys available for use it's a vacation paradise. The home is beautifully decorated and comfortable. We hope to continue to visit for many years. Thank you Lees for sharing your home!
We had a great time, we were relaxed the entire time. We did not need to drive anywhere. All the stores/restaurants are 2 blocks away. The beach is even closer and all the items you need are provided in the home. Marina Park is 2 blocks away and a great place to take the kids. I would highly recommend this property.
We rented this property for the week of Thanksgiving so that our Tennessee and California family could all be together. I can't say enough about how wonderful and comfortable this house is! I cooked quite a bit and the kitchen was beautifully equipped. I loved the fact that the kitchen/dining area was open into the living area so that while I cooked I wasn't separated from the rest of the family. Fenced in back yard with swing set for the granddaughters was perfect for them to run in and out without worry! Plenty of games, toys, crayons to keep them happy and busy! The location is perfect - a short walk to the beach and honestly not far from anything you might need. I also liked the fact that their was a door separating the bedrooms from the living area so that early risers did not disturb those wanting to sleep later! This is a great house for a family gathering!
This house has a lot of great reviews, and they are well deserved. If I were you, I would stop looking and book this house. You will only be disappointed that you did not stay longer! The house if very nicely decorated and furnished, but still comfortable and family friendly. We had 7 people ages 2 to 87. The kids had a lot of fun boogie boarding, playing in the sand, and visiting the pirate playground. It was very easy to load up the wagon with chairs, boogie boards, and sand toys and walk to the beach. There were life jackets for the kids too. The house was close enough to take an early morning walk, watch the sunset, go see the stars, and run home if you forgot something. The outdoor shower with hot water made clean-up easy. We were mostly in California to visit family, but we flew in and out of Orange County so we visited Disneyland at the beginning at end of our trip (we thought California Adventure Park was a lot more fun than Disneyland.) From Ventura, we went to the Ronald Reagan Library and Universal Studios. We hope to come back again in a few years and would definitely recommend this home to others. If we would have had a few more days, we would have loved to have visited the Channel Islands National Park. We went to the visitor’s center which is about a 5 minute drive from this house, but we did not have time to visit the islands which are about an hour boat ride away. On the islands you can go hiking, diving, and kayaking, and see sea lions, whales, and all sorts of marine wildlife. All the basic supplies are furnished – soap, garbage bags, and basic spices which is nice especially is you are flying rather than driving. The grocery store was within walking distance, so we didn’t go out to eat. The freeway was also close which made getting places easier. The owner was very nice, responsive, and easy to work with.
We loved this house. Comfortable for a family vacation with extended family, whimsically decorated, and walking distance to the beach and canals. We cooked in, BBQ'ed, walked to local restaurants, biked to the Farmer's Market in addition to boogie boarding, paddle boarding, surfing and more. this house has all the play equipment you'd need and a warm outdoor shower! We would definitely reccommend this house and area. We loved Pierpont Beach and Ventura.
My family came to Ventura 1 week before my daughter's beach wedding. We prepared for the wedding at this beautiful beach house with a lot of amenities. We made time to use the boogie boards, surfboards, and ride bicycles that are provided and enjoy the ocean breeze which is walking distance from this beautiful home the home owners were more than gracious and helpful at any request. we got everything together for the wedding at the house and it was the most wonderful time in our lives we are so blessed to have been able to use this house I would recommend it to anyone.. added bonus was that the neighbor Julie was also wonderful so it made it feel like home...
We absolutely loved staying in this home! The home is beautifully appointed and well maintained. We loved all the extras! The paddle boards, boogie boards, and bikes were put to good use. The kitchen is very well stocked for a VRBO home. There where many, many spices and a large variety of cooking and serving ware. We slept our family of 6 extremely comfortably and could have accommodated an overnight guest or two comfortably. We hosted a BBQ for about 40 people and never felt crowded using both the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The Beach House restaurant and taco stand are fantastic! They are a short drive by car or a great bike ride away! We loved the location of the home. There is a Vons literally around the corner as well as a Starbucks and yummy little donut shop. Susan and Jimmy have thought of everything to make your stay just about perfect right down to the goo-be-gone to get the beach tar off your feet. Thank you Lees for making our vacation superb! It felt like home. We hope to come again!
We had a fabulous stay in Ventura. The home is just as the picture describe. Amazing location. Very clean. We loved the outside shower to wash off after the beach. Just like being at home on vacation. We used the bikes and beach toys they have available at the home. Can't wait to come back again.
Even though we live in CT now, my parents grew up in the little town of Los Alamos about an hour north of Ventura so I am very familiar with the area. This is the perfect family beach house getaway. We have stayed in 3 different HomeAway homes in Ventura and this one is far and away the best. There are bikes to ride, boogie boards, surfboards to use, and the beach is only few minutes walk. The house was immaculately designed and comfortable for our family of 4. The grocery store Vons and Starbucks are only one block away which is very convenient. We made several day trips to Santa Barbara which has an awesome zoo for kids and our favorite Mexican restaurant, Los Agaves. We also went to our favorite beach, Refugio State Beach, about 45 minutes north. The house has everything you need including washer/dryer, BBQ, plenty of cooking supplies, etc... The beds and furniture are very comfortable and the nights were very quiet for sleeping. Neighbors were also friendly. Owners were very responsive and provided all necessary information we needed for fantastic vacation.
We rented this well-appointed, cozy beach home over New Years week with several friends (ages 27-32) and our 1 year-old son. Everyone agreed that of the dozens of places we looked at for the week, we landed in the perfect spot. I highly recommend it. Rent this place and you'll feel like a local. The home is nestled in a lovely neighborhood with an easy walk to the beach, restaurants and parks. At the beach we felt like neighbors, not tourists. The home is well-appointed and feels lived in (books, games, spices, etc) -- not sterile like some vacation home rentals. The hosts communicated well and were very accommodating - they went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed for our infant (a crib, a high chair) and even lined up some babysitting options for us if we wanted it. Prompt in returning our security deposit, too. The accommodations for children (including the playground, bunk beds, children's books and games) make this home incredibly well suited for family travel, but our friends without kids loved it just as much. I don't know the area that well (traveled in from Ohio), but the neighborhood seemed perfect to us and also got the thumbs up from one of our guests who is a lifelong resident of the area. He felt this was a great spot for a vacation rental. To offer a balanced opinion: the only challenges we had were 1) moderating the temperature in the house -- couldn't quite get the thermostat to keep a comfortable warmth on the cool nights (goldilocks syndrome - too hot or too cold) and 2) the dishwashing machine actually made the dishes dirtier at times (I think maybe a water pressure or hard water issue? They seemed to be aware of it and provided a pre-wash rinse of some sort). But these were very minor inconveniences in an otherwise great stay. I'm in the midst of booking another trip (to another location right now) and I know how exhausting it can be to sort through VRBO listings. If this one is in your price range, you're interested in Ventura/Ventura Keys area, and a cozy craftsman home (family friendly) a couple of blocks off of the beach sounds good to you, don't drive yourself crazy searching for more options, just go with this one. I think you'll be glad you did.
