Franklin, Tennessee
Modest ranch house (4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom) in magnificent pristine valley. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of meadow, forest, and stream. No neighbors. Dark star-filled sky. Horse trails galore. Because of the many antiques present in and around the house, children are not permitted on premises. Hot tub. Old fashioned working well (Don't fall down!). Scary tornado shelter in the hillside. Long hiking trails start here. Best view of the valley.
Master bedroom: Queen bed, en-suite full bathroom.
Bedroom 2: Queen bed (shares bathroom with room 3).
Bedroom 3: Queen bed (shares bathroom with room 2).
Bedroom 4: Full Bed (access through hall to half bath); opens to kitchen; curtain but no door between bed and kitchen.
Large living room and kitchen.
Large front and back porches; hot tub; many trails.
If you do not LOVE nature, please do not come. We are surrounded by nature and sometime it even walks into the house on 2, 4, 6, or 8 legs!
THE BASE PRICE IS FOR FOUR (4) PERSONS. There is a $40/person/night additional charge for the number of persons over four.
The house is set back from the road down a rural lane surrounded by fields and woods which were beautiful even in December. The ranch style home was good for the 6 of us. The bookshelves and cupboards are loaded with items from the 50s and are interesting to explore. The kitchen is equipped with a flat top stove, 2 ovens, microwave, and a dishwasher with plenty of glassware and dishes. We were glad to have brought our own knives, baking dishes, coffee equipment, and large skillet. Internet was available but did not reach well to the rear areas of the house. We brought our own Fire stick for the TV. Supermarkets are available in Franklin, 5 miles away. The property manager was available by text and phone and very responsive although a notebook that is typically available at rental homes was not present. The backyard had a great hot tub and fire pit with adirondack chairs. Deer were present in the front field on most mornings. Coyotes howled up and down the valley one evening. The Conservancy property was great to explore with wide mown paths available to explore both on flat land and up into the hills. The Conservancy farm is 1 mile down the road. We plan to go back and try one of their properties with a larger group.
