Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House has no AC, meaningless for the winter, but should not be rented in the summer. House was 86 degrees when we got there. Some small fans, could not turn on the main fan to try circulating the air. First floor stayed cool, but not the top 2 floors. Chills off nice in the night but very hot during the day. One of the main window blinds was completely missing, so the sun cooked the house.Kitchen, walls, bathrooms, everything extremely dated. Probably was rockin in the 70s. Carpets smelled, rear deck is rough. Should be completely remodeled to be asking this kind of money.
Plenty of room to put your bikes, coolers etc. There was a group of 9 adults that stayed in the cabin, plenty of room
Loved it, had 11 people total ranging from 77-2 years old plenty of space for everyone to gather and bond. But loved that there was also plenty of space to retreat to relax. Amazing Memorial Day weekend:)
Overall my experience was okay at this cabin. It is very snug for a family of 8 particularly on the main floor and the upper area. There was a weird electric humming which was audible in one of the rooms so it was a little distracting, and lighting was not the best. It’s an older cabin so not really much you can do. Overall a solid 3 star experience.
Needs curtains or blinds in one of the bedrooms.
My family and I had a great time in the King’s Beach area. Big roomy house for all of us and lots of great shops and restaurants near by. Will return for another vacation down the road ?
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family really enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin. The location was great because it was just a few minutes from town and in a cul de sac. It’s very spacious and very well equipped. Keep in mind that the stairs from the first floor to the second floor where the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms are, are very narrow and steep as they curve. I had elderly parents with me I wish I would have known. I highly recommend this home to any fun group or family that’s looking for a rustic cabin in the beautiful woods of Tahoe. The communication with the property manager was great as well:)
This house is perfectly located for those who plan to spend time on Northstar but would also like to enjoy Lake Tahoe beach. It’s kind of an older house, however its design is very thoughtful and creative allowing everyone in even fairly large group to get sufficient privacy. It has several separate common areas which is great for multiple families with kids. Well equipped kitchen, other than the oven (who is old and hopefully would be replaced). One warning for those staying during the winter, the bedding/blankets are a bit odd and heavy.
Stayed over the July 4th holiday. Layout of home is fine for larger families. Kitchen was well supplied. Towels were plentiful. The property is about a 2 mile walk from King's Beach - but be cautious when walking up/down HWY 267, because there is no sidewalk. The property needs some work. They had many toys for both summer and winter, as well as indoor toys. However many of the toys were broken or missing parts. (ie-beach umbrella that was missing the bottom part of the pole, or a lone, broken cue stick.) The house in general needs some cleaning - cobwebs in the rafters, unused TV's and broken chair under the stairwell, many fans that did not work. The bathrooms were recently renovated, so they were great. But the exterior deck and first floor door needs painting/refinishing, as the paint is chipping off. In front, driveway asphalt is broken with large potholes. Also, the first floor door is a fire hazard - it is a key locked deadbolt that is VERY difficult to unlock. In an emergency, you would be struggling to open that door. I have stayed in several VBRO homes, and this was not one of the better ones. I was a little disappointed.
Fortunately and unfortunately, we were able to book the cabin fairly last minute. As we thought this was a great booking based on the description, we jumped immediately to book the property for New Years EVE. Upon arrival, we were not able to enter as the cleaning crew was still vacating the premises. Once we were able to do the first walk though, we noticed that there was atleast 4 feet of snow covering the entire balcony. Because it was a holiday and we had booked based on the ability to access the balcony/patio, we spent the first night of our stay digging and clearing the snow from the patio. We also noticed that there was no toilet paper in either of the three bathrooms. We immediately had to unload our belongings and head directly to the nearest store for paper towels and toilet paper upon arrival. During the first night of stay we had hot water for showers and dishes. The next day, after a long day of activities in the cold snow, we were very disappointed to find that there was no hot water to be used through out the house. The hot water did not return for more than 24 hours. During this time, the property management company was difficult to reach due to holiday hours. Each person was only able to showered one time during the 4 day trip. There is also a sofa bed on the first floor that was completely broken and to the bone. The mattress pad was approximately 3 inches thick while the pull out itself was completely caved in. We also saw that on the first floor it was not well maintained. The cleaning crew had over looked the dirt on the floors and definitely left lots of dust. Along side the issues we encountered, the trash accumulated before check in had occupied the entire bear safe trash bins out front. During our stay, we accumulated trash that had to be placed on the outside of the bins. We were approached by angry neighbors stating that if we didn't remove the bags of trash that bears and raccoons would terrorize the trash that would possibly spread to their property. We made the best out of our trip despite the issues we encountered. On the plus side, it was nice to have 3 floors as sometimes its nice to have some alone time. They did very well with providing board games and they did have wifi. The location was definitely centrally located. It was 5 minutes driving to the lake and 10 minutes driving to North Star where you can ski, snowboard etc.
