Five of us came out for a North Fork wine weekend. This house is nicer than mine and by far the nicest I’ve rented on the North Fork. Easy keyless check in, very clean. There are three bedrooms upstairs. I slept downstairs in the private sun room on the single daybed and it was really nice; everyone else slept upstairs with no complaints. Two bathrooms. There is central air. Fully equipped kitchen & dining room with big table was great for our group. We used the fire pit both nights. Rode the bikes into town, about a mile, flat and easy. 67 Steps beach is within walking distance. We actually drove the quarter mile to drop the stuff off then returned on foot. Stony beach but great for a swim and not crowded. Sunset was gorgeous. Kontokosta winery also within walking distance; drove to the rest. To see a variety of wineries try One Woman, Sparkling Pointe and Mattabella; all are a short drive from the house.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cheryl's beautiful, well-appointed home! Cheryl was responsive and accommodating while making our (last-minute) reservation, and her instructions for checking in were clear and easy. We found the house immaculate, yet warm, inviting, and full of artful touches that made it feel unique and special. The temperature was easy to control via the thermostat, and the rooms were lovely and comfortable. For those of you with a lot of hair, there was the perfect amount of water pressure in the shower and plenty of shampoo, etc. While we only cooked a little at the house, everything we needed was easy to find - including the necessary coffee/tea accoutrements. And her instructions for using the Apple TV were spot-on, too - I would have been lost without them. The house is in an ideal location, not far from Greenport Village with its restaurants and shops, et al., and walking distance from a winery overlooking the ocean and 67 Steps Beach (which you can't park at without a permit.) Cheryl also provides helpful information on what to do in the area as well as clear expectations regarding the house. Like the first reviewer, we also went to the Catapano Goat Farm, an adorable - and delicious - place to visit, followed by a tasting at Sannino's Vineyard a few minutes away. We loved the The Frisky Oyster as well as Brix and Rye, Aldo's Café, and the friendly locals everywhere - including at the local gas station! Little Creek Oyster Farm was hosting a Croteaux Rosé tasting pop-up, perfectly situated by the scenic marina. I recommend staying at Cheryl's if you visit the North Fork. The home she created contributed to my truly unwinding and enjoying a brief respite from the city. I'm definitely going back (for longer next time.) Oh, and I loved the little garden of herbs she is growing, too!
My boyfriend and I stayed at this house for a couple days in the beautiful town of Greenport. The house itself is wonderful - a fantastic blend of classic, colonial colors and modern decor. The location is even better - we were a 5 minute walk from a breathtaking view experienced at a local winery (Kontokosta), and a 10 minute walk from the quaint, yet busy streets of downtown Greenport. We didn’t have a car during our trip, but it was not a problem because the owner let us use her bikes to get around town! Lobster rolls, souvenir shops, fresh fish markets, docks, local breweries, and delicious brunch spots were all within reach. Greenport is truly an amazing coastal town, and coming back from drinks and lobster rolls to a beautiful, inviting home like this was the perfect compliment to our getaway. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We spent 3 nights at Cheryl's lovely home located conveniently across from Kontokosta winery. Her home is gorgeous, charming, and immaculately clean with every amenity needed for the perfect getaway. We were there during a heat wave so greatly appreciated the central AC and fans throughout. The rooms are airy and bright with the perfect amount of sunlight. Bonus! The location. It's close to all North Fork has to offer. We went to several beaches and even went digging for clams nearby. Our favorite adventure was visiting the baby goats at Catapano Dairy Farm. The goat cheese was delicious and perfectly paired with wines from the local vineyards (which we enjoyed in the shade of the backyard!). I wish I could share photos!
