This home is stunning with over 5000 square feet. It is nestled in the woods away from neighbors. It has a beautiful big pond you may fish in or use the owners paddle boat. Each of the 5 bedrooms has an adjoining bathroom. The beds were clean and comfortable. There were plenty of towels and linen. The kitchen is well equipped however not much space in the refrigerator for a large group of people. We had to rewash pots and pans before using them due to greasy residue left on them. The refrigerator was very dirty and had leftover food in it. As we departed, we threw away all the leftover foods left by other renters. The large bathtub in the master on the main floor did not hold water therefore it was useless. The house keeping needs to improve. The floors look as if they have not been swept or mopped in a long time. There was a lot of hair on the floor in the bathrooms. Several lightbulbs were burned out throughout the house. The landscaping needs attention. We could not locate the remote control for the garage doors. The 3-car garage was nice. The tires on all the bicycles were flat and the fishing poles broken. The property manager notified us to make sure all trash was in the dumpster as trash day was Thursday. That being thanksgiving we didn’t figure it would be picked up until Friday. As of checkout Sunday it still had not been picked up. Although the house was not up to my standards for cleanliness, the overall stay was very pleasant.
The property was beautiful, spacious and very clean. There was plenty of room for our family and plenty more if needed. We cooked multiple meals and the home had everything we needed for our meals. We usually like to grill outside but the flat top inside worked just fine.
Beautiful house with nice updates.
House was beautiful. Perfect space and the lake was gorgeous. Good fishing. Pictures online is not how house inside is set up. Was still sufficient but, definitely different. Range oven did not work. wall oven was sufficient. Garbage disposal did not work. We managed, had to use knife to keep drain clear. table clothe had food on it. Plenty of clean towels/ sheets. big plus. Also no kitchen aid mixer in kitchen as pictured. Had to buy a mixer. communication was great. All in all we had a great time. family loved the home. The small negatives is easily fixed. only bowls and cups, no dinner plates. we just bought disposable ones.refrigerator was not clean either. My husband cleaned patio and front porch. Blower in garage and push broom. well supplied with cleaning stuff. Paddle boat was awesome. Our family time was amazing and house was perfect size. This is a very peaceful place to be. Thank you for letting us use your home.
It was exactly what we needed for our girls trip. The size of the house fit us perfectly, and we loved the piano. Only feedback I would give is it looked like a few areas of the house had not been dusted in a few months. We also ran into a little issue with the fridge being smaller and having a place to put our food we had brought for 3 days.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and immense home. There was ample room for the six of us. The home sits by itself on land near a lake - we saw turkeys and deer. Loved the baby grand player piano. It is not far from Oliver Winery, Butler Winery and Bloomington University. Nashville, IN is about 30 minutes away, but had to travel winding roads to get there. Thanks for sharing your home with us - I will tell other about it.
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake house. Well appointed, comfortable and clean with plenty of room for a larger family or group to spread out. Thank you also for the very quick and clear communication throughout booking and our stay.
We REALLY enjoyed our stay, the house was as beautiful as the pictures show! And the grounds also gorgeous. Plenty of room for our 8 adults and 6 kids between couples, all under the age of 7. The kids had a blast out in the backyard and down by the lake. Beds were comfy and towels nice. Definitely a great stay!
The property had plenty of room to gather together or spread out for quiet time. Owner even had more silverware and place settings sent to property to accommodate our group. Would definitely stay here again
We get together every summer. The Bloomington area is a convenient meeting place. This property was comfortable and certainly met our needs. We enjoyed the large den/kitchen, large bedrooms and adequate parking. There was room for us to set up a pickle ball court and we spent the afternoons out at the small lake-fishing, floating and riding in the paddle boat. The host was available via email to answer our many questions. We hope to come back again next summer!
This is a perfect place for family reunions and other large gatherings. The house is beautiful and situated in picturesque setting with hills, hiking trails and a small lake. Everyone loved the paddle boat and the fishing was good. The owner answered all of our questions immediately and was very helpful. The back yard was large enough to accommodate our badminton, croquet and corn hole games. We had a fabulous time and highly recommended this place.
We had high expectations coming to this stay — and they were exceeded! We had a group of 14 (8 adults and 6 younger kids) and there was plenty of room. The house is gorgeous and well-equipped with even a player (mini-grand) piano. Walk-in closets in each bedroom are all large enough to house a porta-crib. Even though the house sits in a cleared area within a 110-acre woods, there were no varmints or bugs — although my understanding is that the owner has secured a monthly pest control service just in case. Outside was awesome with a large flat backyard for play and a 7-acre lake with swimming and a paddle boat for four. The fishing may have been the best we ever had with 40 fish caught in a four-hour span with just two dads. Small natural 10- minute trail leads to a friendly working monastery. Pictures and drone video were accurate. Host was super engaged and helpful.
The house is HUGE, beautiful, and amazing. It really is. It is located deep in the woods, so therefore it does come with the problems of houses in the woods. Ticks, spiders, hornets, and mice. You could also tell that the property hadn't seemed to have been kept up as much as it could have. Tall grass, over grown garden beds and ivy. There were supposed to be paths but you could hardly find them as they were very overgrown. Even the path down to the lake was non-existent. You just had to walk through the woods to get down there. Tons of ticks. You can tell that somebody knows it's a problem because there was lots of tick spray for equipment and people stashed away in cabinets. There were many hornets nests by the back door and deck. We also did encounter a mouse. They had traps there already that we found and used one of those. The house really is drop dead gorgeous though. Tons of room for the family and gatherings. Lots of things provided. The presentation of the house was great. Just needs a little bit more upkeep. So if you're ok with the things that come with a house in the middle of the woods. Then this is the place for you. *Disclaimer: everybody kept up on their bug spray and nobody got bit or stung by anything. Not trying to scare anybody. Just want to let you know what you're getting into.
Yale’s VRBO worked well for our family during our son's graduation from IU, and the place was very spacious! It’s a beautiful place and we enjoyed the piano/player piano, and also sitting on the porch and down by the pond. It was a bit out of town, and thus it was very peaceful. We could see fish in the pond, so if you’re a good fisherman, you might catch some good sized fish! The place would be awesome for a large group, as the house is spacious with plenty of beds and bathrooms, and the backyard would be great for gathering and for yard games, etc. Yale was very quick to respond to my messages when I asked questions. Definitely recommend for a large (or small) gathering!
