Location near Weaverville, sweet little town. Private backyard with deck where we enjoyed breakfast in the shade. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable living room. To sum up, for the price it is a good value.
My daughter and I went for a girls birthday trip. Really enjoyed our weekend away and the location was great! Very clean and kitchen was well stocked with dishes. Mattress in the master was a bit too hard for me and the internet went out a few times but host was very responsive. Great value and we had a great time.
The property was what we needed for our stay. Loved that we could have our dogs with us. It was a beautiful setting and was convenient to everywhere we went. Thanks for the hospitality.
Pictures are old, property has run down. Beds need new mattresses. Some electric outlets are not functional. Property is clean.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again soon! The only improvement we would recommend is a better investment towards the mattress/bed in the master bedroom. With long travel, hiking and sleeping in another bed for a week, our backs were really hurting. Otherwise and with each day passing, this property felt more and more like home and we LOVED everything about Weaverville. The sunrises in the backyard were our favorite. We also saw tons of Bluejays, Cardinals and a rabbit.
We LOVED this place! Me and my boyfriend stayed 5 days with our dog Duke and would 10000% stay again. Very nice large front yard and a pretty nicely sized back yard as well. If you have a dog that likes to wonder I’d recommend a long leash because there’s not a full fence but the yard was well taken care of. The inside was very clean, and extremely nice, though we did notice part of the bed frame in the master is broken. (Still comfortable though!) You are very close to many stores and different places to eat (CA’s diner for breakfast is amazing) and only around 20 minutes from the city of Asheville. We spent most our time driving on the parkway (which was only a 5-10 minute drive from the place) and experienced breathtaking mountain views. The owners were very nice and responsive to any questions I had before arriving. If you’re looking for a nice little quiet place that gives you both city AND rural options this is definitely the place. Horseback riding through the mountains and then shopping in a big city on the first day was definitely an experience I won’t forget. I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!! ps.. the walk to the creek is TOTALLY worth it, so pretty.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay overall. We were in town for a reunion of ourselves with all our kids/grandkids, some of whom live in the area. The home has a nice covered front porch perfect for some porch sitting time. Lots of birds singing, beautiful view of the mountain across the way, even saw a deer or two running across the open field on the side of the mountain. Just a few minor drawbacks. The tub in the master bath is very deep, has the jacuzzi jets, but my husband tried it out and said they did not work to his satisfaction. The depth of the tub meant that we had to be very careful stepping in and out to shower, due to the height. Not a big deal for most, but we are both 60+, so not always so easy, and there are no handrails available. The front steps are a little uneven, so we had to be careful going up and down, helps that there is railing on both sides. The doorknob on the half bath in the second bedroom was not working properly, and my husband got stuck in there once for a bit due to inability to open the door. And some of the outlets didn't match well with the two-pronged plugs for my laptop and my CPAP machine...they seemed to be loose, and the plugs would fall out of the outlet, or at least not connect tightly. However, on the positive side of things, besides the porch I loved, was that the interior overall was very clean, we had basically all the supplies we needed to function there, and the interior has been well maintained overall. I would absolutely rent this place again for any future trip to the area. Many thanks for making this sweet place available!
The best thing about this property is the proximity to the Blueridge Parkway. We were there to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary and remake some important photos. During our honeymoon, we got two puppies and took them with us when we visited Mt. Mitchell. Twelve years later, we wanted to remake some of those photos we took. We were very happy to not only find a place near Mt. Mitchell but one that was mere minutes away from the parkway. A few days before we were to go on our vacation, one of the dogs died. The hosts were kind enough to refund us one of the pet fees since we were suddenly only bringing one animal. The house was easy to find. The exterior of the home needed a little TLC but the interior of the home was very clean and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. There was some confusion over check out time. The listing said 11 am but the home manual said 10 am. However, when I reached out to one of the hosts, he quickly corrected the mistake. It didn't really affect our plans on the day we left. I only bring this up to explain why I gave four stars for accuracy of the listing. The only caution I'll give is about the front concrete steps. I don't think they're completely even in height. There are railings, though, so be sure to use them.
The location was great, and the view was great for sunrise and sunset. We loved the walk to the bridge over the stream. It would be helpful to confirm from the neighbors if we were allowed to walk on the paths that ran along the stream on both sides of the road. That would have been a big plus to know if we could walk or sit and relax by a mountain stream away from the road.
Had a great time would recommend others enjoying it also
