The house was cute, comfortable, and had everything we could want in it. The king size bed in the master bedroom was really comfortable. A previous review suggested a window covering on the master bedroom window, and that has been taken care of. The only downside was that both bedrooms were on the second floor, and the only bathroom was on the first floor. If you get up a lot at night or have small children, this would not be an ideal situation. We loved sitting out on the front porch at night, but you could hear and see the heavy traffic on the busy road in front of the house. The biggest negative, though, was the driveway! I had read a previous review talking about the driveway, so I was forewarned. However, it was worse than I thought! We were in a full-size pickup truck and could not make the sharp (more than 90 degree) turn in the driveway without backing up every time--coming in or driving out. It was also very tight on either side of the truck as we passed by the trees. The worst part, though, was the first 25 fee or so of the driveway. Coming out, we were actually looking up at the sky because the incline is so steep. Making a right turn out of the driveway was dangerous because there are curves in the road on both side of the driveway and you are looking up at the sky. The turning radius on the truck when leaving the property was such that we were in all three lanes of traffic just to make that righthand turn out of there.
We enjoyed the stay there, the decor is eclectic and interesting. The grounds are beautiful. Not much in the way of extras but had all the kitchenware and towels needed. Three things though: the driveway is insanely steep and scary, there is no bathroom upstairs where the bedrooms are-I slept on the couch (it was ok), and there were a significant amount of cobwebs at eye level. Otherwise it was fine.
Will be booking again soon. Just mind the drive way it’s a doozy.
We enjoyed our stay. It had everything we needed and close to our planned Jeep rides. It could honestly use a blind or something to block the security light from shining in the master bedroom. The driveway takes some getting use to when leaving out.
A very dangerous driveway twenty to twenty two percent drop with a 90 The great turn at the bottom.. To exit you are seeing the sky only and entering a highway in a Curve. Very Difficult to find signs are very small.
It was so peaceful and we enjoyed it so much. Love how the cabin is decorated and all the attention to detail. I felt at home without the stress!
We had a pleasant time here. Everything was clean, tidy and working properly. Nice peaceful and secluded yard area.
We had a great stay at this cabin that has plenty of room. I thought it was bigger than what the pictures show, which is very nice. Blairsville is a 10 minute drive away and Helen is 30 minutes away (highly recommend going to Helen) so while we were away from a lot we were close enough for any of our needs. The driveway can be intimidating the first time you use it (coming in and going out) but it gets better with experience. Large deck, large yard, babbling creek - great time!
As a medic, I have not had a getaway since the pandemic started, this was GREAT!! Nestled away from everything but mountains, streams and wildlife. It was a great opportunity to enjoy what life is really all about. The staff bent over backwards to make our accommodations enjoyable. Had the opportunity to meet the owner and he was above the standard of hospitality. We will do it again!!
We absolutely loved our stay at this charming cabin, communication was amazing , perfectly clean. Simply and amazing stay we will definitely return
Really fun decor, beautiful location, very clean.
We loved Odells place! 15 minutes max from everything Blairsville has to offer. I will say they have a steep driveway for the nonmuntain folk out there but the creek by the house is adorable!
Had problems getting into driveway! Had to try several times with code to get in ! Was not happy about bathroom being down stairs! Not happy no windows to see out side! NO WiFI!! There was ladybugs everywhere! No instructions on how to turn on heater!
This is the scary part: When Waze told us that our destination was on the right, we could see the house, but could not find the driveway; the driveway was about 50 yards or more past the house on the right. When we barred right unto the top of driveway, we couldn’t see any more of the driveway UNTIL we both got out of the car to access the situation, and what a surprise; it was a straight downward slope with a solid concrete wall to the left and to the right was a drop off. In a panic, I texted the office to see if there was another way in; they didn’t text right back right, so we decided to bite the bullet and take our chances. So, we got back into the car and down the concrete slope we went and made it to the bottom, and then had to make a sharp right turn in hopes not to fall off into the brook that is now on the left side. It was definitely a scary situation, but please do not let this comment detour your from visiting this AWESOME place. We just wanted to make you aware about the driveway. So, with that, we would recommend that whoever is driving is a good driver; you have EXECELLENT brakes, AND you haven’t hit the hooch (beer, wine, etc..) before going down this driveway or you won’t make it. On the brighter side, we finally got used to it after the 2nd day. :-) Now for the good part: When we finally made it to the house and then enter, we ABSOLUTLEY LOVED IT!! It was like being in a cool museum, or cool man cave. There were all kinds of stuff to see and talk about, and the upstairs was nicely decorated for us ladies! The bed was comfortable and had great pillows! The ONLY problem was that the bathroom was on the main floor, and if you are like us and must visit the facility during the night, going down and back up the stairs wasn't something I wanted to do especially when I'm half asleep. :-) SOOOOO, for the last two nights we slept on the couch. But we didn't mind, the couch was comfortable, and the bathroom was a few steps away. IN SPITE OF those two things (driveway & stairs down to the bathroom), we ABSOLUTELY LOVED the place...inside and out!! And we highly recommend you stay there. It was a fun adventure, one that won’t be forgotten. But as I said in the beginning, you better be a good driver! :-) Angela
This is a wonderful place to go and relax, you are just minutes away from anything you need or that you want to do.
This was a very cute 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin with 2 levels. There were only the 2 of us staying but would have been plenty of room for four. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was fully furnished, also had grill, nice deck with sitting area and fire pit. We were there to attend a wedding so it was conveniently located across from the Enotah Event Center and only 10 mins from downtown Blairsville. We were fortunate enough to to meet the owners who were very nice and hospitable. We would definitely stay here again and at any of their other properties. Thank you!!
