An awesome stay! The secret path to Main Street was perfect. Accommodations were very nice. Garage was a plus when the tornado weather arrived.

We loved how close this property was to downtown. Although it is not an easy walk, we did it multiple times during our stay. It was great exercise. :) The communication was excellent and the house was very clean. We also enjoyed using the fire pit. Expectations were very clear.

The wrap around porch is great, and we loved cooking dinner there on the grill one night. Would be nice if travel bars of soap were left in the bathrooms but that's obviously minor. Keep in mind the walk into town has a large # of concrete steps. As long as you are mobile, not an issue.

Fun stay for Oktoberfest and the walk to town was much better thank we anticipated. It was a charming short walk and you right downtown.

Excellent location easily walkable to the town. Private yard, great porch, fire pit, grill, kitchen etc.Wish there was extra sheets for the couches / spare mattress. Listing said bring your own but we were flying in and didn’t have room to bring bed sheets.

This home was clean and had plenty of room. The car charger was such a convenience and a definite plus for us. It is a short distance to get to town using the “secret” passage. Just be aware that the passage has steps but is a lovely stroll. We sat on the porch in the morning and later in the day and watched the deer come right up the driveway toward us. We enjoyed our stay.

The house was better than the listing! The secret path downtown was especially helpful. We didnt move our car the entire stay.

Home stairs plus steep driveway & there are 88 stairs from Harrison to Jail Hill Inn...we counted! Used fire pit every night...plenty of wood on porch but no kindling. Beautiful home & had everything we needed...very private & peaceful. Suggest extra towel hooks in upper bathroom. Light sleepers...train can be heard at various times during night & home humidifier has a constant hum that can be heard in lower bedroom (automatically kicks on/off)...ear plugs helped. Key box is a little tricky - suggest keyless entry. Home rules/instructions near entrance was very detailed & helpful. Enjoyed our stay & will be back again!

House was nice, well kept, clean. Locatation was fantastic. The walk to the main road where the stores and resturaunts are is really not bad, just involves some steps. The house really has a country feel to it, even though you have neighbors close by. The surrounding woods give you the rural feeling and we saw so many deer on and around the property. I really had no communication with the property manager so I cant comment of that but did not need to, everything was perfect. Only issue I took note of are the pictures on the site can be misleading. The house sits on a hill (like most of the town) but the driveway is quite steep. Wife refused to back out of it. Also, the master bedroom is huge but it is an open loft concept, so you can hear what people are doing in the living room downstairs, so if privacy is a concern this is an issue. I still would rent here again in a heartbeat and look forward to comming back soon.

Loved the location and the walk to town including the 88 steps each way. Setting was awesome and our dog enjoyed the stay as well. We were able to use both the outdoor fire pit and indoor wood burning fireplace one evening. We had some miscommunication with the property manager over the time of a city inspection, but worked out ok. As others wrote it is tricky to warm up the lowest level and balance with the rest of the house. Some of the pots and pans could do to be replaced.So yes a couple items could have been slightly better, but when we reflect on the stay and the property the important items far outweighed anything to be picky about.Galena itself was great too!

We wanted a place to stay within walking distance to downtown Galena with at least 2 bathrooms. The Harrisson house fit the bill! We were able to enjoy our homemade breakfast then off to downtown for shopping, the historic blacksmith shop & living Christmas windows!

The house was spotless and the vibe was relaxing and cozy. We loved that there were little sitting areas in all different areas of the house so everyone had a place to go to have some alone time. The location was perfect. A 1 minute drive to the downtown or you could walk on the “secret path”. If you have knee problems the short drive might be better as it is a steep walk. We would definitely stay here again!

Had a great stay and enjoyed being walking distance from town. Only negative is the EV charger did not work, which is 75% of the reason I chose this house. That was a bummer but we made it work.

Stayed for a girls weekend and loved the location to downtown (walkable), it was very clean! We loved waking up, having coffee on the porch and watching the deer, foxes, and other wildlife while we enjoyed a slower morning!

My family loved this property. The house is in town but secluded - surrounded by trees on three sides and set downhill from the road. The feel of being 'one with nature' was enhanced by a family of deer visiting us each morning. The house is uniquely designed - allowing easy visiting, but also space for those who prefer solitude. While we did get out and about everyday, we found ourselves simply enjoying sitting on the porch and around the firepit. In regards to the firepit - plenty of wood provided, but no fire starter or matches could be found. If you plan on cooking - as stated in the description, the kitchen is minimally stocked with cookware and bakeware and not much more than salt and pepper.

We visit the area often because I grew up in the area. We have two dogs who come with us because the cost of boarding in our area is so high. It also feels more like home to bring them along.We love the location since it is walking distance to downtown, but remote enough to feel as though you are in the Northern Wisconsin woods. The home is very clean and up to date. The bedrooms are on separate floors, so you can have privacy if you bring guests.My primary love is the wrap around porch. I grew up in a house with such a porch, so I wax nostaligic whenever I can sit on this porch and take in the sound of crickets. There are also many deer in the area, as well as wild turkeys. The use of a garage is a major plus, too.We are already booked for another stay. It is definitely our home away from home in the Galena area.

Property location was great for the proximity to Main St and downtown Galena. The house was nice, clean, and very well kept. The only downside to my wife and I as a protective parents was the separation of the two bedrooms. We all end up staying in the master bedroom, which was still nice. We brought our Dog, who stayed in the main floor, and he didn't felt left alone with the open ceiling to the master bedroom. Overall... We definitley enjoy our stay and visit to Galena and plan on coming back. Thank you!
