We loved the solitude and quiet of the Anchor. It was all that I love about camping with a fire pit in the backyard and forest surrounding the property. The house was well-stocked, perfectly clean, and very comfortable. We will come again.
Check-in was easy, property was very clean and just what we needed. Property was secluded and very quiet but within 20 minute drive of Bar harbor, great golf courses and Acadia hiking spots. Beautiful fire pit outside and star gazing was great!
Great location and very private. This cabin had everything we needed and more. Close to the park and Bar Harbor.
Cute cabin in the woods. Very private. Close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. This cabin is comfy for 3, the couch can be slept on for an extra person. Roomy bathroom with laundry. Loved the cabin and amenities but we did have a bad experience on check in. We arrived to the property in the evening to find that the door had no lock. The cabin was left unlocked, the keypad that was supposed to be on the door wasn't there and we weren't given a key for the lock that was there. Spent 5+ hours on the phone with the Vacasa help people. Kept being promised that someone was coming with a key so I waited up until the very early hours of the morning (after 3 am). Was basically told to lock the cabin with out belongings in it and to trust that they would send someone to let us back in the next day (trust after I waited up all night with the promise that someone was coming and they never did). I lost an entire night of sleep needing to leave early AM for a tour. They did have someone come replace the lock while we were out and they refunded me one night of the stay but this definitely ruined 2 days of our trip. The property is awesome but this management company is sub-par at best. If you don't have any issues you'll love the cabin but best of luck if you need help.
We loved the charming decor of the cabin. It had all we needed for the kitchen. The 4th person slept on the couch but we found plenty of bedding. The backyard is natural yet well-landscaped…a peaceful well-furnished getaway.
Adorably quaint, private cabin perfectly situated on MDI. A quick 15 minute drive puts you in downtown Bar Harbor, the Hulls Cove entrance to Acadia National Park is even closer. The house and property is well cared for; the interior is thoughtfully, and appropriately decorated with antiques. 10/10, would definitely return!
We loved the hammock, even though the rain and bugs kept us from using it very much. We especially loved the bunnies that we saw hopping through the lawn, stopping to munch on grass. We also loved that the house was well stocked with everything you need from toiletries to laundry and dish soap. We enjoyed the remote setting particularly after the crowds in downtown Bar Harbor and the cozy area in the loft. We did wish there was a remote for the television in addition to the roku because with the lack of lighting up there it was a little hard to find the right buttons for volume, on/off, etc. The kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, baking dishes and most importantly a tea kettle! The only things I couldn't find were a pairing knife and a colander. The bathroom was lacking a hair dryer but was well supplied with towels. We missed having any clothes hangers and/or a rod to hang things on. The only two things we really longed for were heat (it was in the low 50s when we arrived and colder at night) and darker curtains in the bedroom- it's daylight around 4am so bring your sleep masks and flannel PJs and you'll have a great stay.
We really enjoyed our week-long stay while visiting Acadia National Park. The cabin was comfortable, nicely decorated and well appointed with a well-stocked kitchen, washer, dryer, grill and fire pit. It was nice to have such a quiet, peaceful home base for our trip. Even though it feels remote there is a great brewery that makes delicious BBQ only 5 minutes away and Bar Harbor is less than a 15 minute drive. I would definitely recommend this cabin to a family looking for a clean, cozy and relaxing vacation home.
Our family had a blast! Very nice, clean, and well kept cabin with a great backyard!
