The unit was very nice and clean. We had plenty of room for 10 people. The property was great. 2 negative issues were: 1. The pool was closed all week. 2. We were allowed only 1 access card and it didn’t allow access to the fitness center.
Our family had such a wonderful week in Perdido Key. This townhome is super nice - great layout and location. Having chairs and umbrellas available at the beach was amazing. The people who make this happen work super hard, so if you are able, remember to pack some cash to tip them daily for their efforts. A few things that could have been better: 1. Wifi - the townhome had a super nice screened-in deck. It was located about 8 feet from the wifi router. However, the minute you stepped onto the deck, you were disconnected from the wifi. This really doesn't make sense as it's a secured network. Why not make it possible for guests to be able to be on wifi while out there? 2. Check-in process - We arrived about 7 pm. It took 20-25 minutes waiting in line at the gate for access. We received a hang-tag for our rear view mirror and went on our way. The email and the portal tell you there will be a welcome packet in the townhome with a key card. There is no welcome packet nor were given a key card. I called SVR and asked where the packet and key card were. The person was nice, but sent me on a scavenger hunt - look under the master bed, look above the microwave, look in the other cabinets - there was nothing. They said they would check & get back to me. I got a text letting me know there was no welcome packet and that we didn't get a key card - just the tag for the rearview mirror. This meant every time we entered the property instead of by-passing any queue of cars we would have to wait. On day two we decided to head to the community pool. Guess what? You can only enter with a key card. So we headed to the beach club. Guess what? You can only enter and get a chair with a key card. I called back and got a little snippy on-call two about not having this card. It took a few hours, but it was finally provided. You get only one card no matter how many of you are staying, so you will need to plan out your day - half to the pool and half to the beach is doable with a plan. 3. The guest portal - soooo much information missing. The shuttle has a phone number and a route. Calling for a shuttle means you'll know when it will arrive and if there's room for you. The walk to the beach takes 10 min. The shuttle can take 20-25 minutes as we're first on, last off. Coming from the beach, you're first off, so that can be quicker if you time it correctly. The beach club is only open Thursday through Sunday. While closed, you can still access the pool and beach chairs.
Great location for adults who appreciate home over hotel/condo. Great location, pool, and gym. Adjacent to beach with nice club house but small pool. Long walk to beach or use shuttle. No playground…not great for younger kiddos. We worked remotely and enjoyed every minute!!!
I was nervous about not being directly on the beach but I will say staying in a house/Condo is definitely the way to go. The only thing that would have made it better is the house/condo being directly on the beach. I have nothing bad to say about this property at all, super clean, full of everything you could ever need in the kitchen and there was even a crockpot! (WIN WIN) There was 9 of us and we all slept comfortably and would go back and stay again. The shuttle was definitely a game changer…loved being able to call and say we would like to go to the beach and we had a bus there in 15 minutes or less to get us. Not sure that we loved the perdido, Pensacola, Gulf Shores area as much as others we’ve stayed at but it was an AMAZING vacation.
Our family really enjoyed the townhouse we rented at Lost Key during our weeks vacation. The only complaint our family had was that the garbage can inside the garage was full (it was so full that the lid couldn’t even close) and it smelled horrible! It was so bad that we had to put it outside. We arrived on a Saturday and the garbage was not picked up until Wednesday and it still smelled awful after being picked up. There was also two long black hairs in the bathtub upstairs upon arrival that I had to remove from the bathtub. Other than that the place was very nice and we enjoyed the community pool and the beach was never crowded.
