This cozy cabin is located on 5 1/2 shaded, totally private acres, in a quiet cove on Lake Sam Rayburn. The cabin sits back on the lot so there is a limited lake view; however, it is only a short walk down the wooded path to the lake. The cabins exterior, siding, windows, doors, flooring and paint were all completely updated again in December 2020. Amenities include Wifi, flat screen TV's with Dish Network in the living room and every bedroom, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and s'moresas well as games such as badminton, horseshoes, washers, and ladders. Guests also have access to a 3 man canoe and a kayak for fishing in the cove. For the fisherman, there is a stainless steel fish cleaning station next to the cabin. While we do offer the cabin to those hunting in the Angelina Forest, no hunting or target practice is allowed on the property. If you bring your boat, you can conveniently launch it at Powell Park Marina which is located only a couple of miles away. After a fun filled day pulling skiers/tubes or fishing, you can tie up your boat to the property (providing lake level is at or above 160 elevation). PLEASE check lake levels online for planning as the water levels are controlled by the Corps Of Engineers. If you do not bring a boat, you can easily rent one at Powell Park Marina. Powell Park also rents tubes, skis, knee boards, etc. as well as jet skis. The marina also has a sandy beach and an Aqua Park that can be used by day visitors who pay a fee. If no boat, you can also grab a rod and reel (bring your own bait and tackle) off the rack in the dining room and fish from the floating dock, kayak or from the canoe! OR just grab a book and hang out in the hammocks, on the rockers on the screened-in porch or the chairs around the fire pit and do nothing but relax!

When the water level is down, Powell Park marina is less than 2 miles away and on a deep cove. They offer covered boat slips for daily rental fee. Powell Park Marina also sells fuel both on land and on the water. Powell Park also has a convenience store and café that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please call owners if you have any questions.

The lake was down beyond the point I expected. No reasonable access to the water. Floating dock was on land tied to a tree. If you're looking for a cabin in the woods its perfect barring medicore cleanliness. You expect bugs but there was nothing done to get rid of nats! Communication was confusing. I was given 3 different codes to a gated entrance and wifi is very spotty so I had to go to Powell park to see what the additional codes were. Thankfully its only 2 miles away.I was disappointed with the cleanliness, communication and didn't find any update stating the lake was down 7.5 feet! It didn't feel like the place was 'made ready' for guests. Shame really it had the potential of being really good.

After a long drive, we arrived to find out we had the incorrect code to get in which was sent to us by the owner and on the Vrbo site, then the owner did not answer the phone so we had to wait and finally reached a customer service rep with Vrbo who was able to get us the right code. To top it off, the AC was not on so the house was hot and smelled stale. The listing shows a floating dock which was actually sitting on the grass and there was zero water to be seen. This was information that should have been noted prior to arrival as it is advertised at perfect for anglers. The shower barely let any water out of the shower head and mostly came out the faucet underneath. If you’re going with expectations like you see in the pictures, you will be sadly disappointed so ask before booking.

The house/cabin sits pretty far off the road. The driveway is not very well maintained. Much like an old logging rd. Initially I thought we were in the wrong place. Once we navigated the driveway to the house I realized it was going to be very difficult to turn around with a truck and boat attached. If you are bringing a boat, be sure you have some serious driving skills. The cabin/house was OK but just OK.

Such a nice little cabin tucked off in the trees. Loved how we were able to walk down to the lake and fish off the dock. Also being only 5 minutes away from Powell Park was a huge plus being we brought our boat with us.

Nice secluded property. Clean. Issues with fish cleaning station and outdoor lighting, likely just poor timing from the storm that came through. Thanks again for a great weekend.

Perfect secluded quiet getaway. Kids could play in the screened in area while meals were being prepared. Or just be loud and play outside whenever we were at the cabin. Loved the short drive to Powell park for when I didn’t feel like cooking. Overall, we had a great time!

When we arrived at check in time we had no power due to storms that had knocked the power out and without electricity there was little to no water pressure so we stayed the one night without power hoping it would come back on the next day but that didn’t happen so we came home a day early. When I talked to the one of the owners he said they could maybe give us a partial refund and they gave me back $125. But we payed over $600 for the weekend so we should have at least received half to be fair since we didn’t use any power at all and I understand it’s nobody’s fault about the power but we did pay alot of money to sit in the dark with no water.

The cabin is hard to find and has no reception for most in the area. Road to cabin is very rough on a vehicle. Very common to lose power in a storm. Very far from any gas station or food
