Secluded Modern Home on 132 Acres, 2 Miles to Purgatory Ski Area

An amazing bright escape from the city. Tucked away near Purgatory Ski Resort, this property was just what we needed. We got to escape from the busy life in Austin, TX to relax with our dogs in the silent home that this property offered. The host was extremely helpful when we realized we would be getting in town a bit earlier than expected and helped us check in a little earlier than initially expected. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a little time away from their busy lives.

This cabin was the perfect basecamp for a couple of days of skiing at Purgatory. Completely private and just minutes from the resort, it’s ideally located between Durango and Silverton.The cabin was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The wood-burning fireplace was a wonderful bonus and made evenings especially cozy after a day on the mountain.We brought our two dogs, and they absolutely loved exploring the surrounding woods and we enjoyed taking in the beautiful mountain views.We’ve already recommended this place to friends who plan to visit the area next summer. We loved this place! It’s just the right about of seclusion. It’s got great access to trails and the ski resort if you’re there during winter. It’s a great size for a family of four and very well equipped for cooking. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks!

Sean’s property is absolutely a gem. His efforts to create a green self sustainable lifestyle is very impressive, the fact he openly shares with others, speaks volumes of his kindness. His attention to detail is incredible, the greenhouse was built with wisdom and space for a vast variety of vegetation. The cabins are very well thought out with quality windows, bug screens and solar power. The serenity of being spaced out and immersed in nature is priceless. The views up top overlooking the southern lakes are stunning and his view of Engineer mountain and the northern peaks is phenomenal. My dogs loved being able to explore the property and say hi to sky. One day we hiked from the cabin down to the confluence where the train runs through the purgatory flat trail and back, his property backs up to the gorge that trail runs through. Highly recommended, cleanliness and attention to detail are on display. Thank you Sean!

Sean's cabins are perfect if you prefer a secluded cabin getaway, but something still very close to the mountain. The surroundings are stunning, and the cabin itself is better classified at a luxury mountain dwelling.

Definitely a good idea to have 4x4 or chains! But worth the effort! The beauty of the land radiates throughout the building. Incredible craftsmanship and detail! Thank you!

Beautiful scenery and secluded location. Great place to walk the dog. The house had everything we needed.

This house truly was a home!!! With incredible views and an insane level of privacy around the home, my family loved it!! We brought our dog as well which was absolutely wonderful as he got to walk around and explore without having to go far from home. Very cozy fireplace made our experience even better! The house was also VERY clean and all the necessary appliances were well unkept and easy to use!

Lovely Property, cabin is as described with everything we needed to enjoy 10 days in the mountains. With a well equipped kitchen we enjoyed cooking in, to a great deck to sit an read, watch wildlife (deer) and BBQ. We walked on the property and enjoyed the view of Electra Lake. A few day Trips to Durango and Ouray/Silverton. Communication with Sean was great, he was very helpful when we wants to add a few days prior to arrival. The instructions and directions given before arrival were clear so we had no issues finding the Cabin. Thank you Sean, we wil see you next year.

We loved our stay at this cozy cabin. Every morning we would watch wildlife out of the windows all along the front of the house!We Love how secluded it feels! My kids favorite part was going down to the greenhouse and picking fresh berries, sitting on the chair lift swing and walking up to the lake view point. Cabin has everything we needed And beds were comfortable! Would definitely stay here again!!

Loved the place!

The property is very clean, roomy, quiet, and was a perfect location for my family of four. The cabin is well stocked with just about anything you can ask for. Sean responded quickly to a question we had about the shades. He is a very good host and very nice guy. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay.

As described, quiet and close to Purgatory resort. Enjoyed the porch and the super quiet forest. Owner offered fruits and vegetables! Talk to him when you go !
