Our stay at the Ambrose Lodge was everything we could have expected or hoped for.. Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Spent mornings hiking local trails and afternoons reading by the lake. Evenings sitting on the deck watching the stars. A highlight of the trip was our visit to Green Acres Country Store! Wonderful! A fantastic vacation.. Thank You..
The house is immaculate, the views were amazing. We kayaked and canoed and swam and fished and had campfires, walked to get ice cream every night. The house was huge, the kitchen has every appliance you could ever ask for and all the amenities. We only had to bring food, clothes, and beach towels! The upper deck is perfect for reading a book on. Pam was very communicative and even directed us towards where we could see moose - and we saw two! My kids were delighted! I can not WAIT to come back!
Our stay at the Ambrose Lodge was wonderful. The house is comfortable and well equipped for a relaxing vacation. Pamela is an excellent host, very accommodating and gracious. We hiked, kayaked, and saw several moose and deer in Moose Alley. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the Rainbow Grille, and treated ourselves to yummy ice cream sundaes at Moose Alley Cones! We look forward to our next visit to the Ambrose Lodge!
Beautiful home and property.
Very well appointed, great view, and owner was very thorough
This is a fantastic property for a family get together. Had the grandkids see snow for the first time! Made snowman had a bonfire the place is awesome
This is a beautiful lodge with 2 levels of living in addition to a wonderful outside lawn, beach patio, beach area, dock and fire pit. The key for our perfect vacation property was to be lakefront and this fit the bill perfectly. In addition it was totally private. Beautiful views. We got on the water with kayaks and canoe and hiked a few of the nearby trails. Downside: water was too low for us to get our fishing boat into the lakes, tried several lake boat launches. But that is uncontrollable. We had a wonderful time with our Son and daughter in law and son and girlfriend. Pamela is a great host!
This beautiful house exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed the lake and our time in the great Northwoods. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
Gorgeous property! Every detail has been taken care of, you can just relax and enjoy the Loons singing you to sleep. We have made this an annual destination!
This was are 6th visit to this home, both in winter and summer. We had a great time as usual and the owners are amazing.
Excellent again. 3rd time staying here and looking forward to the next time.
We love the quiet and location of this place. Feels like home when we arrive each year.
Sitting right on the 1st Connecticut Lake with views of the undeveloped lake shoreline the lodge is well equipped with everything you would need. Kayaks, canoes, grill, firepit, outdoor patio, large deck, games, and plenty of bedrooms. Easy check-in process and great communication from owners. Managed to spend time on the lake and nearby rivers along with running into 2 moose during our stay as well.
The property itself was beautiful. The house was amazing &the lake and views were unbeatable. The stars are really clear at night. We saw the Milky Way. We stayed for the 4th and there were fireworks all around us. We took the kayaks to the middle of the lake so we could watch from all angles. The listed stated there were 3 beds in one of the rooms, and photos show bunk beds. That's not accurate, &the kids were a little bummed about not having bunk beds. So, you are down a bed. There is a futon in the common area to make up for the missing bed. This wasn't a big deal for us, as we had more beds than we needed, but for someone staying with a bigger family this may be an issue. The dishes were dirty. We had to rewash alot of the dishes when we got there. Pans with gunked on food, and alot of the plates and cups as well. There was also no toilet paper or paper towels. All the bathroom had 1 roll of toilet paper and that was it. And they were not even new rolls - the bathroom downstairs was almost empty when we got there. We were told all the paper goods were supplied, so I assumed that meant toilet paper. Not a big issue - just maybe something a future guest would want to bring - as the stores over there are expensive. There are a couple small shops around the house. A general store right at the corner, a bakery a few minutes down etc... The staff at these stores were very friendly and helpful. The bakery has some delicious cinnamon rolls. We bought a bunch for my daughters bday. They are HUGE! Definitely shareable. To get groceries you have to venture out a little, which is fine but the staff at LaPerle's IGA are incredibly rude. This has nothing to do with the property itself but a little warning for anyone who may need to go here. We arrived on Sunday and wanted to run to the market to grab food. We arrived a little after 6 and the store closed at 6:30. We knew this and made a plan of running in quick and grabbing food for dinner and breakfast and them come back the next day. As soon as we got out of the car the MGR was outside yelling at us, and anyone who came after us to hurry up because DONT YOU KNOW WE CLOSE AT 630. When we walked in a guest walked out and warned us not to go in there because the MGR Was a D-WORD. He kept yelling at people in the isles and checking out you could hear the cashiers saying anyone who isn't checked out at 630 is SOL. We came back the next day to finish & they were still miserable and rude. Would not recommend
We enjoyed the beautiful and comfortable home and amazing spot on the lake. The home meet and exceeded our expectations. The owner was so great to work and her guided tour of the place and area enhanced our stay. Can’t wait to go back!
