We just returned from a relaxing anniversary getaway at this incredible property, and I honestly don't know where to begin.From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the privacy—this home feels like your own secluded retreat, tucked away yet remarkably close to everything. We could drive a short distance to restaurants, shops, hiking trails, and attractions in minutes, but once we pulled into the driveway, it felt like we had the world to ourselves. That rare combination of convenience and total seclusion was exactly what we were looking for.The welcome materials were phenomenal: an incredibly organized digital platform packed with thoughtful local recommendations, maps, restaurant guides, and insider tips that we referred to often. Inside, the house was spotless and so cozy—tastefully decorated, comfortable furniture, and every detail attended to. But what truly set this place apart was how exceptionally well-stocked it was. Quality sheets, plenty of towels, a fully equipped kitchen with as much cookware and gadgets as we have at home, coffee and tea selections, spices, pantry basics, bathroom amenities, board games, books, extra fuzzy blankets... it was genuinely like staying in a loved one's perfectly prepared home. We came back from a long day shopping and had a movie night with the popcorn they provided. We never once felt like we were missing anything.The location was the cherry on top. We have been coming to Galena since before we were married, so about 40 years. We have stayed at many properties, and my family agreed that this is our favorite. Clean, nice size kitchen, and a lovely filtered view if the lake. Really nice.

Everything was great. Special bonus was the large basement area w/pool table where our three teenage boys could hang out. Would certainly rent this house again.

We had the best time at the hidden forest retreat in Galena. Kitchen was fully stocked- we especially loved using the grill! The location was perfect- private and secluded but still close to town and amenities. We can't wait to come back next time we visit Galena!

Fantastic property, amazing accommodations, extraordinary host! An idyllic setting, with all the natural beauty, amenities, and comforts one would want. Nestled beautifully in the woods, with close proximity to the lake and the owner's club, with all the recreational options it has to offer.The strongest selling point, however, may be the communication by the host. The information in the guide book sent upon reservation is extraordinarily thorough and exceptionally helpful, and the check-in/check-out process couldn't be easier. Additionally, the host was very accessible when a need to contact them arose during our stay. Truly a wonderful visit. We will be back!

We needed a quick getaway to destress and this was the perfect haven. Nestled in the trees and very cozy.We came in the dead of winter and was amazed by the view of the lake, which is probably a bit more challenging to see if the trees have their leaves.

This was a beautiful house with a really amazing view of the lake. The house was very well stocked and the owner was responsive and helpful. The place was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to stay in Galena.

We had an amazing three days staying in this well appointed home nestled in the woods. Communication was smooth and effortless from start to finish, as well as check in and out. The layout of the home is perfect for three couples or a family with three Bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Their are so many gathering spaces with two outdoor decks as well as a screened in porch with ample seating and fire feature. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of dishes, pans, utensils, Ziploc bags, Keurig pods, spices, etc. Nice family entertainment area in lower level with pool table, fireplace, tv, fridge, microwave, popcorn station, etc. They even supply laundry detergent and beach towels to use with pool passes. Hot tub looked amazing as well, but we didn't get a chance to use it. We did go kayaking just a short distance away and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool facilities are top notch as well and a great amenity. We would highly recommend this home to any couples or families and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when in the Galena area. bedroomsbedroobedrooms

We enjoyed the lake home in a serene location. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Quiet and peaceful. Loved the quick access to hiking, marina, and more.

We enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our little summer vacation. Galena is a beautiful little town. And who knew that so many generals have had ties to Galena!
