The home provided a wonderful getaway for our family and the location was excellent! We were close to trails and the ocean. The ocean views were also amazing!
This home was in every way perfect for our stay! The huge family room with the beautiful ocean view made this home. The wildlife throughout the community was a bonus. There is an empty lot across the street that the deer enjoyed grazing and lazing on. To be able to take a picture (all in one frame) of my granddaughter on the balcony, the deer in the lot across the street and the ocean in the background was icing on the cake. We were there mostly to tour Hearst Castle but enjoyed the quaint town of Cambria. All within a short drive. Overall, a fabulous home especially if you have a group!
Wonderful place to stay in Cambria! Close to the beach walking trail and close drive to Shamel Park and Moonstone Beach Beautiful view from the living room. Lots of stairs but no problem. Cute back yard area Family really enjoyed it and how quiet. Great eating dinnhbgvarea for our large family.
The location is ideal, within a short walk to a fantastic nature preserve that has multiple beach access points and a short drive to Moonstone Beach. There are great ocean views in the front, which we enjoyed. It worked well for our extended family's stay (4 adult couples and 1 toddler for 6 nights). Overall, the house could benefit from some updates, such as a new dishwasher. But you get what you pay for and the house was a bargain for its location. The host has a lot of rules, so guests should be aware that they will need to stay on top of that.
This is a beautiful home for family and friends to make memories. The view is beautiful and the house is roomie and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
This property worked out well for our extended family, all appeared to be very clean until we noticed the windows out to the front deck were not as sparkling as they might be, and when someone accidentally spilled water on the floor and wiped it up, the hard surface flooring was not clean Also, the shower door in the master suite needs some work on the hinges since it doesn't close properly. Overall, very well stocked and plenty of seating and gathering areas.
Beautiful home lots of bed rooms Host was always available We had a great timr
We loved being able to walk to the beach! House was clean. Be prepared for lots of stairs. Front driveway is not easy to park in, very steep. Beds were comfortable except pull out in loft had a bent frame. Overall wonderful vacation :)
Everything went smoothly and as advertised. My only complaint was that the carpet was filthy if we went bare foot our feet filthy and black we quickly realized we had so at wear socks.
We stayed here for three days with our siblings - everyone in their 70s and 80s from all parts of the United States. Cambria is beautiful and the location of this property is perfect for long level walks viewing the world-class scenery, esp the coastline. Lots of deer roaming around which we found charming. You will definitely need a car to go into town to the many wonderful restaurants as well as Moonstone Beach but this property location is grand. There are many stairs in the house itself and up to the front door which can be a problem for the elderly. The loft bedroom offers very little privacy and no bathroom. A teen or pre teen will be fine up there but not a senior. Lots of baby equipment for younger families however. It would be better if the garage was open to the guests so they would have access to the 3 bedrooms/ 2 bathrooms on the ground floor without walking upstairs to the front door then downstairs to the bedroom area when arriving. We didn’t have the key code when arriving and my cell coverage didn’t work (AT&T) - other cell coverage companies did work however. Once a neighbor helped us call Christy we got right in and had a memorable visit. Just be sure to contact Christy earlier to get the key code. The kitchen was well supplied and very clean.
It was a surprise to arrive at the house and find every bedroom had been used by the previous guests and beds were still unmade, dirty bath towels on floors in bathrooms, even the loft bedroom had been crammed with 2 mattresses, unmade, you couldn't access the patio up there. No garbages had been emptied, food crumbs on the floor, you name it. We contacted the homeowner who was perplexed why the cleaning person hadn't come. She was more worried about that than how to solve the situation. She did not immediately apologize or offer anything for our inconvenience. She said she was going to find out what happened to her. In the meantime, we had a car full of our things and could not unload until the house had been cleaned up. We waited 30 mins and called her again for an update. she again said how perplexed she was wondering what happened. I said we have to move on from that, how are you going to fix this? Are you coming over to clean our house? She said no, I am 4 hours away. It was also Memorial Day and she started to say it would be hard to find someone to come clean at 5pm on Memorial Day (the time it had come to be). I said well you have to find someone or give us the key codes to the linen closets and we will make beds ourselves. 20 mins later, she called that she had found someone, stressing how lucky we were that she did. Her stance was interesting. She has a ring camera entry that she states she uses to see how many people are actually coming and going during your stay, she knew she had a party of 13 there that had checked out at 11am and she never checked her ring camera to see if cleaning person had come in or had a system with her cleaning staff to text her when they arrive or leave? She said the new gal would be there in 30 mins. I said we were going to take a walk as we couldn't unpack. I said there should be some adjustment to our rate as technically, we are not checked in, we wouldn't be able to until after dinner, at 9pm. She made no comment. We had 6;30 dinner reservations as well. we came back from our walk, a nice cleaning gal was there cleaning the 2 bedrooms we said we weren't using (she was told to only clean the ones we were). Her reasoning was she wanted the whole house clean, she said it was going to take her 4 hours. So...still not able to unpack, we went to dinner. we came back, the place was sufficiently clean. I have waited over a month to see a discount. Nothing. Nice house though, good locale
Pro’s: Location is wonderful, gorgeous sunsets from the house and just a few minutes walk to several beach spots. Owner made some great improvements from our first year of renting to this time. House was clean, spacious and well stocked, very comfortable. Con’s : owner/prop manager was difficult to deal with. In the end my complaints were taken care of but because of the difficulty in communicating w her and SO much time spent trying to get a solution, we will not be returning.
If you are looking to give your teenagers a little space and yourself some quiet, then this home is a wonderful option. Kitchen, formal dining and family room are wonderful spaces and allow for a coastal view. The home is a 3-5 minute walk to tide pools and nature trails. Kitchen and pantry are well stocked and all appliances are the perfect match for a busy mom of 3 on vacation. Neighbors are a delight and everyone we encountered were an absolute delight. The bottom floor where master bedroom is was suprisngly quiet for being on the ground level. With window shades opened the entire home is bright and airy. Teenagers....wow this is a struggle but not in this tri-level home. My younger boys loved the 3rd floor with thier own balcony access and large arched window to view the beautiful trees and ocean. Teenage daughter had enough privacy from her brothers and still felt connected by utilizing the second floor bedroom as her domain. I am looking forward to booking this home again and bringing my mother in law and parents.
