Stayed Oct 23, 2025Everything was clean, well maintained and delightful. 3 full stories and the view from the top deck was outstanding. Had one incident that the management company didn’t return my call on, so we handled it. Stayed 5 nights, close to several restaurants within walking distance and an area you can walk on the beach or along the water close to the restaurants.

Stayed Dec 15, 2024The property is well maintained, great communications, easy to checkin using downstairs entry pad, nice view of the waterfront from the third floor. This is a great location for those who can navigate narrow stairways up and down from the main floor. Front door access pad needs to be fixed along with washer. The biggest issue for us was the lack of lighting in the home - no acceptable reading lights near seating or at bedside. An easy fix to improve the experience. The experience would be greatly improved during a summer stay when you can take advantage of the beach, views, outdoor space.

Stayed Jun 14, 2025House is very clean but basement very musty. Biggest complaint is no bathroom on main floor. For someone with knee issues, and that has to use the facilities often, very tough to keep going up the narrow stairs (that dont have railings the full length) or down to the basement (again without railings) multiple times. Also air conditioners were not in windows and it was very warm uptairs and difficult to sleep. Other than that lovely house, great views, but would not pick that house on our next trip to visit our family.

Stayed Oct 14, 2024We came to the North Shore to experience all things scary in Salem. Salem was enjoyable, but very crowded. It was amazing to have this home away the tourists. Walking distance to a wonderful restaurant Mission on the Bay and great shopping in Marblehead. Would love to come back and enjoy the patio during the warmer summer months.

Stayed Oct 20, 2023The bottom floor of this home was completely unlivable. It had a VERY extreme mildew smell and there was clear mold in the bathroom. The property was advertised having a queen bed, but we were unable to use it as anticipated due to it being located in the basement. Another one of the beds was just a small chair folded out. 2 of our guests had to unexpectedly sleep on the couch on the top floor. In addition, we were forced to come through the basement door any time we entered or left the home due to that being the door with the keypad lock. It would have made much more sense (and would have been more healthy) to have the keypad on the main door. We ended up holding our breath anytime we had to enter and exit the home through the basement. It was extremely disappointing and we felt very misled by the advertisement. The rental property (iTrip) was not helpful and just argued back and forth via email and refused to give a partial refund for the extreme inconvenience.

Stayed Oct 15, 2023I have nothing to gain from this review (the company wouldn't take our feedback seriously), other than to alert other people not to stay here. First, there is no key or code to the house. You have to go around, down an exterior stairwell, and in through the laundry room and then up to get in the house every time you enter. Good luck if it's raining or dark. The main living room lights don't work so you walk into darkness every time. A few blinds don't work, and there are bug traps throughout. Hand soap is provided, but thats it as far as amenities go. The upstairs twin bed is really a futon. There is no mattress. It's just couch pads with sheets on top. It's not comfortable, and there are no pillows in the house, but there are extra comforters that we used to make padding so it was somewhat doable. The king bed in primary room is fine. The bed downstairs; however, is the photo of the white couch you see and is really a pull out couch. The company will tell you it has a full size mattress so it's a true bed. Sure, but at the end of the day, it's a pull out couch and downstairs is stale and musty and hard to access with narrow, steep stairs. Regarding the smell, the company will tell you this is typical in older homes (note: we live in a 1910 home in Seattle and both my partner and I are in real estate for a combined 40+ years). The only concession we were offered was to stay at another property an hour north which was not feasible.
