Stanardsville, Virginia
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway with beautiful mountain views. Enjoy watching the horses framed by scenic mountains from this private mountain home located only 13 miles from the Shenandoah National Park Swift Run Gap entrance. The front porch with rocking chairs, the deck with a barbecue, and the large yard with a stone firepit makes the outdoor enjoyment even better. The road up to the house is a gravel winding mountain road. If there is snow you will need 4-wheel drive. We consider this place a getaway so there is no Wi-fi or tv plan. You can use a cell phone and set up a hot spot for fast internet and smart tv.
It had everything we needed. We did manage to get a little bit of a signal but be prepared with some downloaded stuff. It was cool to wake up and look out and see horses out the window.
The stay at Brian's place is worth the drive up the dirt road to get there. I am glad we got there the first day before dark. The property and house were a pleasant surprise, given the location. We had everything we needed to cook meals there and have restful sleeps. We hiked Rose River Loop trail and White Oak Lower Falls trail on Brian's suggestion. Both reasonable driving distance and both great ways to experience Shenandoah.
We had a great stay! The view was spectacular and seeing the horses with our 2 year old was a hit. The cabin was clean, spacious and adequately stocked with kitchen supplies. The drive was easy and it was close to Shenandoah National Park. We will definitely stay again if we’re in the area!
We were very thankful for this place! Very clean & had everything you would need.
Very clean property. All rooms suited just what we needed. We used the home as a place to come back to at the end of the day spent fishing. Everything we needed was there. Coffee pot, hot shower, comfortable beds, and some space to stretch out.
Our stay was perfect!
We had a great weekend in this pretty little wooden house, nestled in the forest, on top of a hill. The house is comfortable, with all amenities. The view of the landscape is very beautiful. The entrance to Shenandoah Park is a 20 minute drive away. It is definitely a very good address in the area !
This place had a great view
Brian's guest house in the mountains of Stanardsville was by far one of the best VRBO properties I've stayed at. The home was clean and had many amenities. The kitchen was amazing! Many times, a rental property will have a few odds and ends of pots and pans and maybe a spice or two. This property had wonderful new cookware, knives, utensils, and dinnerware, and many spices to cook with. Also, plenty of soap, sponges, and cleaning supplies. The washer and dryer were also an unexpected nice amenity. The location is great, very quiet with beautiful views off the porch and deck. It was fun to watch the horses in the nearby paddock. This was a wonderful property and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
A great getaway away from everything! The house had everything we needed, it was clean with nice outdoor spaces and Brian was great with communicating!
Great spot to stay to enjoy the area and hike in Shenandoah!
We enjoyed our stay.Property and location beyond the expectation.
This was a newer build, clean & modern. It was near hiking and that's why we chose it! I have stayed at many other air B&Bs but this one was the most well stocked! Owner provided linens, TP & paper towels, soaps, firewood, free sodas, etc. Owner was also a great communicator. Great experience in a nice QUIET home.
Beautiful, clean and spacious house with a stunning mountain view. Plentiful amenities. My only complaint is that is was a tad hard to get to, but overall a wonderful experience.
Beautiful place and lovely time!
