The cabin was wonderful--beautiful and very welcoming environment. It was a pleasure to spend time there!
We love 16 Knoll at Saddleback Lake and Lodge! This is our third visit, and this year we stayed for two weeks. The cabin is immaculate and has plenty of comfortable space across three levels. We were especially grateful for the screened porch this year, as it allowed us to enjoy the view and the sounds of the loons despite all the rain. We also played pool, watched movies via the Roku, and enjoyed swimming and boating when it was dry. And our trip would not have been complete without visits to Quill Hill, the Pine Tree Frosty, and the Outdoor Heritage Museum in Oquossoc. As always, the rental team at Morton and Furbish was helpful and good-natured. Another great stay! PS -- There is now great cell service at SBLL. Three or four bars, on ATT.
We had a ball here with two adults and 4 17 yr. olds, the girls holed up in the subterranean level where they all slept, hung out and watched movies-we had the ground floor and plenty of extra beds on that level and above in the overlooking loft-which the girls enjoyed too! Excellent layout with very well-stocked and organized kitchen! Very clean and nice glow to the cottage w a toasty wood stove which warmed us nicely after coming in from a day of skiing with amazing views of Saddleback Mnt. out the big bay window. Peaceful and overlooking the lake as well. Lots of happy birds and private setting, yet a 10 min. drive to town, grocery store and shops & restaurants. In a nutshell, all you could want in a larger cottage that accommodates a lot of people very comfortably!
The water and boats were farther than expected so we didn't spend a lot of time there the cabin is immaculate that was great there needs to have a few more lites it was hard to do dishes to make sure they were clean . The pool table was a big hit it was a nice place to rest and relax.also there was a mouse in the house.
This was our second vacation at 16 Knoll Lane at Saddleback Lake Lodge. We had another wonderful week enjoying the lake and all it has to offer -- kayaking, swimming, and watching a loon family and a bald eagle from the shared beach. We also enjoyed walking and picking berries on the property. The cabin is immaculate, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Our teens enjoyed the basement, where they could stay up late and sleep in. The adults enjoyed the living room with its open view of the lake and the mountain, along with the screened porch. We were so glad for the picnic table on the porch, as we ate most of our meals there, enjoying the breeze and the beautiful view. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the beds are just right. We hope to come for two weeks next year!
Beautiful view and great location to enjoy Saddleback and Rangeley Lake and downtown. House is well equipped and had good wifi service. The basement with the pool table was great for a family with kids. The beds are a bit stiff snd the pillows are very dense. I encourage people to perhaps being their own. Also the only couch in the home is pretty worn and very small. The living room could be much more cozy as it has a nice little stove to keep you warm and enjoy the view.
Excellent views of Saddleback lake and the ski trails on the mountain right from the living room area. Highly recommend driving up Quill Hill, we even saw a moose on the road going there. The museum in Oquossoc made for a calm afternoon when there were spotty showers one afternoon. We made use of the pool table downstairs many nights and the kids used lots of the games and toys provided. The only thing I could see that would have been nice is putting any size TV downstairs. We brought a Nintendo Switch but didn't want to play it late at night in the living area because others were sleeping. All around great place to stay and relax. 5 stars.
Property and location were great. Lake was good for boating.
The camp is great with everything you could want or need. The view makes it perfect- the lake and Saddleback Mountain right in the front yard!! We could not have been happier here, and didn't want to leave. We'd love to come back someday!
Ok, that title was misleading... It's actually a ski cabin with a pool table, but how great is that? Compact, cozy, with three floors of living space. I stayed there alone very comfortably, but it could certainly accommodate one or two families instead (note: two full bathrooms). The view out the front is Saddleback in all her glory and the expanse of Saddleback lake, inviting you to ski or trudge across it. You are close to town, close to the mountain, but feel like you're deep in a woodland enclave. My only serious complaint, and this is not the fault of the homeowners or anyone else, is that the cell service is non-existent. Fix that and it would be perfect. The Dish TV and wifi work pretty flawlessly, but for those of us who use their phones to communicate and stay informed, it is worth knowing about the lack of cell service. It was not a terrible deprivation once you get used to it, but that's why I gave it only 4 stars.
