The whole time we was there, the owner didnโt call or text to see how we were doing or need help with anything.
Property was the perfect size for 9 people (2 families). Kitchen was stocked with your essentials to cook a family meal. The private pool was perfect for family fun after an all day adventure in the surrounding areas. The backyard had plenty of space to sit and enjoy. The neighborhood was nice and peaceful. Property management was responsive and answered all the questions. Location was great. We flew into John Wayne Airport which was about 20 minutes from the property. Spent most of our time in Newport Beach which was about 20 minutes away. It's an hour drive to LA and or Santa Monica Pier. Great place!
We took a chance on this house since it had no reviews yet. I would say that we were probably the first renters which brought some positives and negatives. The Good...The house has recently been renovated inside and they have done a very nice job. The bathrooms are great. Bedrooms are good sized and the house itself is really quite large. Plenty of towels, bedding, dishes, and the kitchen seemed pretty well stocked. Many of the dishes and glasses still had stickers on them. Nice that they are new, but annoying to have to clean everything. Plenty of parking and the location was perfect for us. We did Disney a couple of days and it's an easy drive to the park. Quick drive to the beach too. If you plan on going to L.A., that's a bit of a trek, but we expected that. The Not So Good....When I booked the house, I asked if the pool was heated. A lot of places ask for extra money to heat the pool and since we were using the house at the end of March, I was willing to pay. I emailed twice and did not receive a response until a couple days before our trip. The pool is not heated. We were ok with that since the house said it had a hot tub. When we got there, the hot tub was completely cold and honestly, a bit scary. It looks like it has been there a very long time. I asked our house contact for directions on getting it up and running and she gave me some vague directions which we tried to no avail. The pool was also quite dirty. Lots of leaves, dirt, and debris on the bottom. I then asked if it would be possible to have someone come over to start the hot tub and clean the pool. No response at all. Nothing. I'm still waiting for a response on that one. So, two of the main reasons that we booked the house, the pool and hot tub, were completely unusable for the entire trip. My recommendation would be to get rid of the hot tub altogether, have some written directions for your guests, and up your communication skills a bit. Overall, the inside of the house is great and worked very well for us. However, the outside area really needs some improvement.
