A truly unique stay in the heart of Harpers Ferry--a luxurious home converted from a decommissioned historic church. Beautiful decor drawing on church features and original wood floors & paneling. 1 King bedroom suite, 2 Queen bedrooms, 1 loft with 2 Twins, 1 rollaway bed. 2 full bathrooms, 2 powder rooms. 75-inch TV. Full kitchen. Laundry room. Up to 2 dogs ok.

This building was the former St. John's Episcopal Church, built in 1895, and converted to a spacious home in summer 2025. Located in the Harpers Ferry residential Historic District, it creatively honors the building's origins while incorporating modern style and luxurious amenities.

Enjoy an amazing primary suite with King bed and zen-style en suite bathroom.

Additional guests can choose from 2 Queen bedrooms: one with an English Cottage vibe, the other filled with Tuscan Villa romance. A sweet loft with skylights offers two twin beds and a tv monitor for gaming.

You'll find a full elevated kitchen, with an original stained-glass window and an island fashioned from former church furnishings. The kitchen includes a range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, beverage fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, immersion blender, and French press.

The large open-concept former sanctuary includes a dining table for 8, 2 skylights, ceiling fans, a leather couch, 2 recliners and additional comfy seating for the whole family.

Two beautiful full bathrooms and 2 powder rooms.

A total of 3 Roku TVs for your favorite streaming apps plus some live TV options. Games and books are available for rainy or chilly days when you're stuck inside.

On warmer days, enjoy the covered back deck where you can relax and watch the deer in the woods (fan included). Just off the parking lot, there's also a propane griddle for outdoor cooking, and a firepit for making S'mores.

There's free off-street parking in back of the building.

Your retreat is located two doors away from a great bakery and within a block of a new coffee and ice cream shop. It's also in walking distance from restaurants, shops, the Harpers Ferry National Park, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Headquarters, and the C&O Canal Towpath Trail.
You'll be an easy drive to river rafting and tubing, as well as other great historic sites and numerous wineries and breweries.

FOR AN ACCURATE COST QUOTE, PLEASE ENTER THE CORRECT NUMBER OF GUESTS AND DECLARE ANY DOGS YOU'LL BRING. PET FEES APPLY AND NIGHTLY EXTRA FEES FOR EACH GUEST OVER 4.

BUGS:
This home is in close proximity to the Potomac River bordering a wooded area, which means you'll see mostly harmless bugs (gnats, ladybugs, box elder bugs, etc.) common to rural environments (sometimes wven spiders) -- some that swarm the area randomly without warning. Even if guests are careful, some of those bugs may enter the house and are attracted to lights. The best way to minimize bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Even then, the building is 130 years old and not totally airtight.
By booking the property, guests acknowledge that encounters with insects or wildlife are possible and are not grounds for refunds or cancellations.
You'll also want to clear the kitchen each night and securely package all food.
If you need help removing any bugs that may appear, don't hesitate to contact the hosts.

My husband and I stayed during January and did not run out of wonder - between the charming town, walkable restaurants, the perfect cappuccino at the Snail, the bonus basement lounge in the property we did not know of until arrival, the well-stocked amenities, and the attention to detail and guest comfort throughout the property. We had the perfect getaway and are recommending the property to our friends. You won’t regret staying in this converted church! The pictures don’t do it justice.

Awesome location, great hosts! We will stay here again for sure. Parking was easy, very comfortable beds, and the renovation is amazing, while still having many elements of the history and charm. Fantastic experience.

The home was great. The owners did a fantastic job of maintaining the historical character while adding fantastic modern amenities. Plus, the communications with the owners were seamless, making the arrival, stay, and departure as easy as could be.

Amazing home! High-end bathroom features, stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, super cool basement cellar—truly a unique experience with personal touches throughout! Host was very responsive as well. Only thing that I would add is an additional safety measure at historic front door.

Very well-appointed property, nicely decorated and comfortable for the five of us. The historic aspect of the building was interesting and the renovation was thoughtful and respectful of the space. The walk into town wasn't bad for us younger folk, but a bit much for our elder parents...they made it down the hill ok, but we had to drive down for a pick up at the end of the day! Parking is VERY limited in town so having the option to walk from the house was a big plus. Also convenient walking distance to a few places in Bolivar. The step up into the kitchen could be awkward for anyone with mobility issues, but otherwise we thought this place was perfect.
