Awesome location for a wedding at the Whitney inn
This home is rustic indeed. We booked this for 2 nights for our annual girls trip and ended up checking out early, only staying one night. We arrived after dark and there were no lights, motion sensor or otherwise, making it difficult to see. We ended up using the flashlight feature on our phones to open the lockbox. The door has a single deadbolt lock which did not appear to be working properly and left us feeling unsafe. The sliding door leading to the deck was also not secured, only locked by the lever on the handle. The next morning we discovered another door on the back of the house, at ground level, that was unsecured. We are not sure where that door led, possibly a cellar? There are no overhead lights inside the house. Several of the lamps did not work, especially upstairs. The home does not have a/c. This is probably not an issue of renting in the winter however it was rather warm when we were there and the home was hot and stuffy. There are no fans either. We opened windows in the bedrooms with hope of getting airflow but that was unsuccessful. The first bedroom at the top of the stairs has a window without a screen and opens up to the roof which had a ladder on it. There are little to no window coverings particularly in the kitchen/dining room and bathroom. The washer and dryer both have issues. The washer makes an awful loud banging noise and the dryer had to be run several times to get clothes dry. We are fairly certain someone was staying in the attached
