Me and my husband stayed here to explore Colorado for our 1 year wedding anniversary. South Fork is an adorable town and is beautifully and conveniently located. The Goat Cabin was roomy and comfortable for us and our 30lb dog. It was also very well stocked. The property is very quiet, we saw mule deer right outside the cabin every evening. We spent most of our time exploring the surrounding areas. Dollar General is also walking distance.
The cabin was clean when we arrived, hot tub was used by my children and was clean and toasty! Spacious cabin worked out great for our family of 6. Thankful there was a crockpot for use because I forgot mine? We did have some trouble with the Wi-Fi when we arrived but we called management and someone came out the next morning, as we arrived very late, the problem wasn’t quite fixed so another call got someone out immediately and resolved our issue so we could watch tv. There was a DVD player so bring some along just in case? Location is great with conveniences if you aren’t wanting to be out away from it all. The malt shoppe in town has some great malts!! We will use this cabin again when we come back!
Nice and roomy. Place is 50:50, space and general atmosphere great… kitchen and bathrooms need some TLC, but we were there to ride ATVs, we were not wanting to drag our campers this time and the lodge was perfect as far as location and having most amenities, and frankly for the price it met the need. I would stay again, knowing I needed to maybe pack a few more things.
When we arrived we found a pile of poo in the master potty and some of the silverware was dirty. This made me hesitant to stay. VACASA offered to have house keeping return and clean again, but I declined. The rest of the condo was spotless! I washed all the dishes I thought we would use in the dishwasher before we used them, just as a precaution. The evening we arrived we had great internet. The next morning we had nothing. After contacting VACASA they contacted local workers to fix the situation. The people who worked on it were great! They worked hard on it for several days but were unable to fix it. Apparently the antenna was damaged. So no wi-if for the rest of the week. The cabin is very spacious but out-dated as the pictures indicate. It does have a very nice living area and mud room area.
The day we arrived we did not have WiFi or TV service. I called and was told it would be fixed. They did not fix the wifi or tv service until the day before we left. We had the cabin booked for 5 nights. I I’ll never book here again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Goat cabin and four other units. They were a great rustic choice for our Family Hiking Camp. The units were clean and the common areas were great for the kids. As mentioned by previous guests, we had difficulty getting in, as the entry codes were missing and/or erroneous. We finally were able to get correct codes long distance, but it would have been nice to have a local person help us. The WIFi was spotty. We were there during unseasonably hot weather. There were lots of fans on the properties, but some screens were missing in some of the windows. Thanks for a nice stay!
We had a wonderful time the Rodeao and fireworks were right across the street so that was a nice surprise. The cabin was REALLY clean. It would have been nice to have windows that opened but we would stay here again
This is an excellent place to stay if you have a larger family/group. It’s close to Wolf Creek ski resort. Easy check in and out. The only things that could improve is the WiFi isn’t good so you can’t really watch anything on the tv and the hot tub isn’t very hot. So my kids and I were bummed that we couldn’t sit in the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The restaurants Mountain Pizza & Taproom is walking distance with yummy pizza/wings & Ramon’s Mexican was pretty good. There’s a Dollar General right down the road that has milk and simple groceries. Overall great place to stay!
Very spacious and clean We loved the wood burning stove. There were 2 problems we had. Only 1 of the 4 burners worked on range and with some wiggling we got a 2nd burner to work and the oven is just possessed. Other than that it was PERFECT.
This cabin was perfect for our family. The heating unit kept us very warm. Close proximity to Wolf Creek. We will stay here again in the future.
The goat cabin is a great place to stay. There are a couple issues that should be addressed. 1st The internet connection was terrible, it would only connect for about 15 seconds then drop. The GM did restart the router but it didn't seem to help. 2nd, the water pressure and volume in the rear shower is pathetic. almost impossible to get shampoo out of your hair.
We had a great time here. We had many age ranges and we all were comfortable and enjoyed it. We will stay here again!
