Refuge at the Lake is the ideal place to escape from your busy and hectic everyday life! The house is perfect for families or friends to connect, have fun, relax, and explore! Take it all in and refresh both mind and body while enjoying all the amenities you'd expect and some you didn't even know you needed!
While still close to many local attractions and events for when you feel like getting out, the property is quiet and serene enough to make you feel as though you're hours away from the city.
We are not able to allow events, parties, weddings, any more than 12 guests at anytime.
We had a great trip, our stay was fabulous. I had no complaints. It was no need to contact the host at all during our stay. I did contact her prior to our stay and she was very prompt. House looks just like the photos. The kitchen had everything you could think of. Beds comfortable and ample space throughout the entire property. It was 8 of us and no issues with sharing 2 bathrooms. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.
Beautiful setting and the house has lots of room!
Our family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving at this beautiful property! The amenities and special touches were thoughtful and appreciated. Thank you for providing the perfect location for our special family gathering!
We really enjoyed our stay- the outdoor space is perfect for morning coffee and meals and we enjoyed watching the deer wander by each day. The house had everything we needed. Location is a bit off the beaten path but grocery stores, etc are just a few miles away. We also visited the alpaca farm down the road which was super fun!
This was the PERFECT place to host our friends for a bachelorette weekend! There was so much space for all of us, we loved spending time outside and we really couldnโt have asked for a better spot. Stephanne was super responsive before, during and even after our stay when someone realized they left some shoes behind. I think some of the girls booked for other times while we were there too! Thank you so much for the hospitality!
The house has great potential to be a five star. The accommodations, floor plan, and location is fabulous. It is close to Twin Cove Lake and restaurants. The decor was modern and simple which was perfect for our girl's weekend. I would suggest that details are given to cleaning all areas of the home. It was too hot for us to use the screen-in porch, but it was very dirty with cob webs and gnats. It didn't look like the rest of the home. The door frames to enter the home needed cleaning as well. I would suggest investing in more wash cloths. I think we only had a total of four. There were plenty of bath towels and beach towels which was nice for our trip to the lake. I would also suggest lining the kitchen drawers and removing rusted pans etc. Lastly, the house was stuffy. I had to add plug-ins and burn candles upon the arrival of the others. I feel this is something the housekeepers should be aware of. The house didn't remain stuffy for our stay. As there wasn't anything going on with the vents. The beds were very comfortable and the furniture was in great condition. The wooden staircase is beautiful, which adds to the aesthetics of the home. We loved the location of the home. Waking up to a pack of roaming deer and wild turkeys was awesome! There's plenty of patio furniture as well. There are so many fabulous qualities about the home which makes for a great stay.
Very much enjoyed the home and the lake -- very secluded and quiet. Home was very spacious and enjoyable. The owner communicated very well -- can't wait to come back!
Refuge at the Lake is a fantastic house, spotlessly clean, artistically decorated with style and comfort. The downstairs king room has a great living room with large window overlooking the lake , deck, hot tub, oak trees, and wildlife viewing. Deer come each evening, bunnies hop by, hawks, heron, all in our 3 night visit. The swing hanging from the tree is wonderful. Comfortable, ample seating on the deck. A quick 2 minute walk takes you to the shore and small beach fit to launch the kayaks. The kitchen is huge, well appointed with whatever you need. Coffee station really nice. There are two pack n plays if you have babies. Lots of games provided in the game room. Lots of towels and beach towels. Even a guitar ! Double check the grill before buying and planning to grill- it was broken but owner very attentive , personally called to assist, and concerned , so Iโm sure itโll be fixed. Stephanne is host and answers any questions immediately and patiently. There were some A/C issues upstairs. The nest thermostat wasnโt holding a charge, but again, Iโm sure that will be corrected. The bottom A/C is arctic. There is also a mini split in the downstairs living/king bed room. Refuge at the Lake is a fabulous get away , feels out in the country, great property to explore with all the comforts you need.
It was great!
The house itself was great with plenty of space and outside just as good. Right off the lake with a perfect view for the sunset.
We had a ministry retreat at the property and it was perfect. We were very happy with the home and enjoyed the view of the lake and access to talking trails along the water.
The house was amazing. Completely blew us away, the pictures online donโt do it justice how big it is. It had everything anyone would need to stay there. Only thing I would watch out for is the grass outside has very very sharp stickers in them. So donโt walk on the grass barefoot! Other than that we loved everything about the property.
My only hesitancy was only having 2 bathrooms for 12 people. That wasnโt ideal but never ended up being as big of a problem as I thought it might be. The remodel is absolutely beautiful and we spent one day/evening enjoying the beautiful view in the back yard. It has a wonderful outdoor hang out area. Overall a great place and great for our group.
I stayed at this property with a group of girlfriends -- there were 6 of us in total. We are all age 60+ and most are from the east coast. We have done an annual December trip to New York and for this, our 15th year, decided to spend a weekend exploring Grapevine and the surrounding area. We couldn't have been happier with this property. The space was excellent, clean, and very well appointed. The property manager was very responsive to any questions we had and help we needed. I highly recommend this property.
It had everything we needed and more! The close proximity to the events we planned was a bonus! I highly recommend itโ
Our group enjoyed our stay and we couldnโt ask for a better view. The communication was excellent! The kitchen had everything that we needed and the bonus was the deer that played on the lawn every day. It was delightful!
We had 9 girls. Location was great. House was great. We were worried about only having 2 bathrooms but it all worked out fine.
This property was absolutely gorgeous!! We had a group of 9 girls for a relaxing Bachelorette party/weekend get away. All of the girls were so amazed and impressed with the house and how cutely decorated it was. The property owners had the house filled with everything you could want or need. We had the best time and created so many fun memories. All of us want to book here again in the winter to use the hot tub and fire pit!!
Property was great! Had a couples trip for Memorial weekend. Property accommodated everything we needed, plenty of seating, great patio and screened in porch, amazing kitchen and lounge areas.
The property is in a excellent location, quiet neighborhood. Everything was amazing. The property manager is very responsive. I will come back again.
The property was beautiful. The house was clean and well kept. The host was very responsive and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in this location. Five stars!
