Woodstock, New York
Our extremely popular economy room for solo guests, features a twin memory foam bed in a bright and quiet back corner of the property, with double exposure windows, writing desk, reading chair, and painted wide plank floors. Serviced by shared, but private, hall baths.
Twin Gables was established as a Boutique Hotel in 1926, when artists Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Daibler purchased the 19th-century house at the height of Woodstock's first flowering as a center for creative people. It was an unprecedented time in Woodstock’s history— the beginning of the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony, which served as a Utopian artists’ community, attracting free-spirits and bohemians from around the world.
This charming Hotel has an established reputation as one of the most favored places to stay in Woodstock for nearly a century. Renowned for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and charming ambiance, this Catskill Mountains’ inn, set in the stunning Hudson Valley, is in walking distance to most shops, galleries and restaurants of the Woodstock village.
All rooms, as well as the common parlor area for sitting and relaxing, are decorated with period furnishings and boast original art work from local and global artists. And, for the modern convenience of its guests, WiFi is available throughout the accommodations for those traveling with their mobile devices. Organic coffee, tea, and filtered water is available at all times at the coffee & tea station located off the parlor.
Twin Gables is devoted to minimizing its ecological footprint on the planet. Our amenities – soaps, shampoos, hair conditioners -- are completely natural, environmentally friendly and biodegradable – including the bottles themselves! We also minimize our water use and only use top-of-the-line natural cleaning products.
Visitors come from all over the world to explore this “most famous little town in the world” to experience its arts scene, enjoy its restaurants, attend events, and enjoy its charm and tranquility. And a stay at Twin Gables, the oldest guesthouse in Woodstock, is an integral and gratifying part of that experience.
I really liked the personality of the property with the special painted spaces and eclectic furnishings. It was an inviting space and what I wanted for my stay in Woodstock.
Beautiful and clean and funky and fun! Every detail was thought of and executed.
The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, with nice amenities, a friendly staff, and an unbeatable central location.
I liked the interior design ,my room, the bed was so comfortable! The kitchen and the breakfast and also the coffee was great.I used the studio at the 3rd floor for stretching exercises. Everything was perfect. I will come again.
My bed was comfortable, and I love going into the middle room to relax. One suggesting for the bathroom downstairs is to put a hook up for a towel next to the shower. This place is one of the best place to stay at.
Great common and private rooms, wonderful innkeeper, and a great all-around experience. I would happily stay here again.
Beautiful, well maintained building centrally located
