Woodstock, New York
Our most sought after generously sized 2nd-story suite features a memory foam king bed, writing desk, twin day bed with trundle, private bath with tub and shower, and three full-height windows with sweeping views of lively Tinker Street and the mountain beyond.
Twin Gables was established as a Boutique Hotel in 1926, when artists Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Daibler purchased the 19th-century house at the height of Woodstock's first flowering as a center for creative people. It was an unprecedented time in Woodstock’s history— the beginning of the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony, which served as a Utopian artists’ community, attracting free-spirits and bohemians from around the world.
This charming Hotel has an established reputation as one of the most favored places to stay in Woodstock for nearly a century. Renowned for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and charming ambiance, this Catskill Mountains’ inn, set in the stunning Hudson Valley, is in walking distance to most shops, galleries and restaurants of the Woodstock village.
All rooms, as well as the common parlor area for sitting and relaxing, are decorated with period furnishings and boast original art work from local and global artists. And, for the modern convenience of its guests, WiFi is available throughout the accommodations for those traveling with their mobile devices. Organic coffee, tea, and filtered water is available at all times at the coffee & tea station located off the parlor.
Twin Gables is devoted to minimizing its ecological footprint on the planet. Our amenities – soaps, shampoos, hair conditioners -- are completely natural, environmentally friendly and biodegradable – including the bottles themselves! We also minimize our water use and only use top-of-the-line natural cleaning products.
Visitors come from all over the world to explore this “most famous little town in the world” to experience its arts scene, enjoy its restaurants, attend events, and enjoy its charm and tranquility. And a stay at Twin Gables, the oldest guesthouse in Woodstock, is an integral and gratifying part of that experience.
I stayed here with 2 friends for 2 nights to get away for a few days. We loved Twin Gables - the property was nice and super convenient - right on the main street and walking distance to everything. Our room was so cute and the breakfast was lovely (yogurt, berries, croissants, muffins, etc). Would strongly recommend!
My boyfriend and I arrived late on Friday evening. Check in was seamless and the room and hotel surpassed initial expectations. The location of Twin Gables is perfect - right in the middle of town. We were able to walk to pick up coffees in the morning, to see live music in the afternoon, and to grab some dinner in the evening. Twin Gables truly is a hidden gem. We are planning another trip back in the fall.
We stayed in a lovely room which was very clean. I can't say any flaw about our room or the hotel in general. We wish we'd have a better breakfast but it was all great as it in terms of the capacity of the hotel. The staff was so helpful and friendly too. The entry of the hotel (little lobby) has a great atmosphere to spend time.
We stayed for 2 nights for my wife’s birthday. We loved the room and the atmosphere/decor of the hotel.
Overall, it felt as comfortable as staying in someone's cozy home! The faculty was very hospitable, especially during this tough pandemic & economic times. The breakfast selection was excellent, and I appreciated the coffee/tea nook next to the communal (living room) area.
Room 1, we wanted to stay longer !
A great getaway ...
We were on college visits and stayed overnight in Woodstock. Lovely house - nice big room. Some things need updating-i.e. plumbing fixtures- but a lot of charm makes up for it.
It was a beautiful old home right on tinker street. Our room was the perfect mix of beautiful and woodstock quirky. Bed was very comfortable.
We had a lovely stay, the only negative comment I would offer is that the breakfast was a disappointment.
Stayed three days to work on a book I am writing. The House manager could not have been more accommodating.
We came to Woodstock for a leisurely getaway. Twin Gables met all of our expectations. It has a fun hippie vibe and decor, with all the comforts of a topnotch B&B. We chose a room with a private bath. Some rooms shared a bath which would not have worked for us. The king size bed was so comfortable, we slept like babies! Everything was spotless and beautiful!
Our room was clean and comfortable and the in suite bath was great and worth the additional expense. LeAnn welcomed me when I first arrived and showed me around the B&B - where the coffee bar was located, the common area, kitchen for breakfast in the morning and the common area out back. Our room was easy to access and spacious. The location was perfect for walking around downtown Woodstock.
The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable and the host was very welcoming. We will be back again!!
Cute spot to stay close to restaurants and stores!
