Riverwood: South Haven Retreat on 10 Acres

This was our family’s third time staying at Riverwood for the holidays. The house is great for families and kids, it’s exceptionally clean, the kitchen is well stocked and perfect for cooking. We had a great time!

Fantastic home with great layout, plenty of room and awesome decor. The bedrooms are so pretty! Short drive into town or grab a ride share. Would stay again!

The best VRBO we’ve ever experienced. Décor was creative, not simply artwork massively produced. No worded signs anywhere. It was as if we stepped into someone’s home that was decorated with care and attention to details. They discreetly labeled drawers and cabinets on its contents. There was even an emergency drawer (I had to scope it out) filled and organized for different needs. The owners thought of everything. On the lower level, entertainment was provided for different ages in games, puzzles, huge collection of DVDs, foosball, and air hockey. Upstairs provided three binoculars and a telescope for day and nighttime outdoor viewing. It truly felt like we stepped into a home that provided care and kindness for our weekend stay. My favorite bedroom is downstairs. It has four twin beds all lined up across the wall, inviting the little girl in me to squeal. A dream room for a group of kids. Our dog, Bailey, squealed her own delight as she sprinted along the wooded paths surrounding the home. The river encouraged exploring and the campfire brought contemplation. Thank you to the owners for sharing a thoughtful and enjoyable retreat. Can you tell we had a great time?

We rented this house for a family getaway from Chicago, and couldn't be happier. The house is spacious, comfortable, well-stocked, and best of all, peaceful. We were easily able to have people hanging out upstairs, downstairs, and out at the fire pit. Getting into South Haven was a 5-10 minute drive, so it's the perfect combination of having a serene home setting while being close to public activities. I can't wait until I have another excuse to come back.

We had a wonderful time! Plenty of space for everyone. House was very clean and stocked well with towel, cookware, etc. A very peaceful outdoor area.

Plenty to do for all ages. Beds were cozy, kitchen was well stocked. Beautiful views. Nicely decorated. Nice amenities. The only cons we're having to purchase a baby gate for the top of the stairs and the property not having city water. Regardless, we had a fantastic summer vacation and highly recommend this properywater.

We stayed here for 4 nights due to a family wedding weekend. The house was beautiful with lots of room to spread out. Game room with air hockey table and foosball along with an entire wall of board games. Outdoor games -crochet-giant jenga. Very comfy bedrooms and beds. Three full baths. Made gettting ready for the wedding very easy would highly recommend.

This home is so well set up it makes it a real pleasure to stay there. The property has an amazing array of wildlife. We spent hours sitting on the deck watching the river flow by, and were treated to seeing a river otter! The bird life is also great. The house is so well suited to pending time with friends and family. It is really a special place.
