Riverside cottage, minutes from historic Harpers Ferry! Private river access!

Although I never met my hostess, the cottage stay was easy to book and just as advertised. Fantastic views, well stocked kitchen, and a personal greeting on wet board. Gas fireplace was warm and cozy.

We really enjoyed the cottage and it was perfect for our extended weekend getaway. Very clean and stocked with everything we could need. The deck was ideal for morning coffee and evening bird watching on the Potomac River. We also found it ideally situated for places worth visiting close by i.e. Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield, and Shepherdstown. Hosts are wonderful and super responsive.

Everything that we needed was there and easily found. The host promptly took care of any concerns.

This this is a sweet little cottage that shows pride of ownership down to every detail. We had a nice stay with our adult children and enjoyed exploring the Harpers Ferry area and Maryland Heights.

There were plenty of great food options nearby, which made everything very convenient.This trip meant a lot to us — I even got engaged during our stay! Our family spent Christmas at this wonderful home, and it was the perfect holiday getaway. The house itself is incredibly cozy, but the real highlights were the magnificent views and the easy river access—which the anglers in our group loved for some holiday fishing! We spent our evenings staying warm around the fire pit, soaking in the atmosphere. The hosts were excellent and made us feel right at home. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful, cozy retreat!!

This rental is minutes from Harpers Ferry and Shepardstown. The balcony has comfortable furniture with a lovely view of the Potomac. Saw tons of deer. Well stocked kitchen and toiletries provided. The steps are a bit steep, but then we're all in our 70's and 80's. Great stay!

We had a very nice stay. There were a lot of bugs on the floors. Could have used some baking dishes. We left flour in fridge. There needed to have sugar, flour and things that people would need. When we have gone to other B&Bs places they would have things like that for people.Tried to log in on tv to use our account to you tube tv but didn’t have a code for Roku. Better access to the river from the house. People have a hard time going up and down.

Excellent, quiet location with one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. Close to hiking and national park activities that we did. I would liked to have had a table on the upstairs level for a computer or work area; I was downstairs a lot when my spouse was upstairs. Thanks for having us!

We loved our stay. This was the cleanest most well presented VRBO that we have ever rented. When we walked in, there was a personalized welcome sign and snacks! The neighborhood was very quiet and the owners were very responsive. We would absolutely rent here again.

Four of us stayed in the Riverside Cottage for four nights and loved it! Our host, Scott, was so attentive and prompt in answering our questions or requests, we felt pampered. But we never felt that he was intruding on our privacy, and we actually never met him face to face. We biked, kayaked, fished, played cornhole down by the edge of the Potomac, and hiked into Harper's Ferry. It was a great time!

Great little cottage situated at a gorgeous location overlooking the Patomic. Great location for exploring Harper’s Ferry and the surrounding area. Amenities were great and the rooms were comfortable. Check-in and check-out were very easy and the owner was readily when needed but gave us plenty of space. We hope to come back someday and stay longer!

We had such an amazing time! Great location close to many amenities. We loved the owners recommendations for food and fun things to do. We loved hiking the Maryland heights trail and exploring Harper’s ferry. It was our 10 year wedding anniversary and we love the outdoors and history. We can’t wait to come back!

The cottage was very nice and clean. Our plan was to fish since it was advertised as private river access. When I see private river access, I think a dock or at least bank access. We soon found out that the only access was the boat launch. We had 2 teenagers with us who were looking forward to fishing, but there really wasn't much room to fish at the boat launch. The owner did some research and let us know some places near by we could fish, which was very nice. It was just disappointing to find out we couldn't fish from the property we rented. It was very close to Harpers Ferry National Park which was convenient. Overall, we made the best of it. The house had what we needed and the gas grill was utilized daily, which was great. The owners were easy to communicate with. The beds were also comfortable. If you are looking for a place to stay near Harpers Ferry and all it has to offer, then I recommend this cottage. It just wasn't an ideal fishing location.

Property has limited views of the Potomac. The house itself was in good condition and the host paid a lot t of attention to small details. The property itself is about a 15 minute drive to historic Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown. Guests should be aware that parking for large vehicles can be a challenge but is doable. This is due to the design of the driveway and vehicles parked on neighboring properties, which is beyond the host's control.The only complaint we had were the beds. They were some of the most uncomfortable we have every slept in.

Awesome scenery nice and clean Very accommodating

The house was perfect for 4 of us for two nights! It was close by to the national parks. The house was very clean, had lots of towels and the view of the river was very pretty. It was further from the river than we originally thought but that did not impact our stay. The host responded immediately when we requested to build a campfire. He put chairs out for us and set it up by the river.

We had an awesome stay for our family vacation. Easy distance to everything Harper’s Ferry. It very cozy and clean. Our toddlers had fun playing with their toys in the spacious living room. We had coffee on the deck watching the sun rise. Everything inside very organized and lots of information about the surrounding areas. Kids liked playing on the little playground and kayaking on the river. Overall a very good stay. Highly recommend.

The property was a home away from home for my family. plenty of room for four adults a full kitchen in the lower section and two full bathrooms. Clean and neat interior, great view from the deck and great parking as well. A great place to stay close to Harper's Ferry.

We spent 2 days at Harper's Ferry. 1 day in Shepherds town and 1 day at Antietam and visited a toy train museum. All was within 20 miles so we were centrally located. The most humbling of these were the Battle at Antietam. We learned so much. The house was very clean had everything we needed. Highly recommend

Perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the river view from the deck. The cottage was spacious and well appointed . We spent time learning about the history of Harpers Ferry and hiking in the region. Our adult son came in from Baltimore for one day visit.

The Riverside Cottage was a lovely little place on the river. Great reviews from the back deck. The place was very tidy and had just what we needed for a change of pace. Very easy drive into Shepherdstown. The hosts provided a nice binder of information and recommendations and made everything very easy. They responded right away when we inquired about a cooking sheet to use in the oven.

I booked the cottage for my parents. Scott was excellent to work with. Communication was great and also had great recommendations. The cottage was in a good potato with a short drive to multiple attractions/ shopping.

We had great time fishing, canoeing and sightseeing. We visited Charles Town and went on the night time Ghost Tour. This area is loaded with Civil war history.The fish were hiding but the weather was perfect.Scott was a great host.

1st time visiting the East Coast and our stay in this beautiful, quaint home was perfect! We felt the warm welcome as soon as we walked in and enjoyed the thoughtful complimentary items. The house was close to Harper’s Ferry & neighboring cities, lots to do in close proximity. Enjoyed the porch on our last night as we sat and listened to the rain and the sound of the river. Host was very attentive & prompt. Definitely recommend as a place to stay for a small family!

The property was exactly as presented, charming, well-situated and very clean. As a believer in details making a difference, I was impressed by the thoughtfulness of the owners. I only wish we had had more time to truly enjoy all 22 Briar Patch Lane had to offer. The lovely Potomac beckoned, but it was too chilly to spend an evening beside the river. I hope another time.

Me and a couple buddies were passing through Harper's Ferry and at the last minute decided to stay the night. I found this beautiful home on VRBO and wow, it was perfect. The house had been nicely updated and has a great view of the river . . . but what impressed us the most was how clean it was. From the floors, to the bedding, to the bathrooms . . . exceptionally neat and clean! Only a few minutes from downtown Harper's Ferry this place is a gem - highly recommend. Thank you!

Driving up to the property we were all struck by the beauty of the surroundings. The house was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and several comfortable areas to relax in. The balcony overlooking the river was a lovely place to soak in the beauty! Highlights of the local area for us included hiking around Antietam and enjoying mulled wine and music at a local winery.

What a lovely cabin! The neighborhood is quiet; the beds are comfortable; and there is plenty of hot water. Just minutes from Harper’s Ferry Nat’l Park and within 20 minutes of Antietam Battlefield, this is a great location - especially considering you are along the banks of the Potomac River. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location and not far from Harpers Ferry and Harpers Ferry National Park. There are so many hiking trails and historical sites in the area. After a day of hiking we enjoyed a glass of wine on the upper porch of this cute cottage overlooking the Potomac river. The lane the cottage is on is quiet and peaceful. I would return again!

This home is in a great location for visiting all of the historic areas and excellent wineries. It has all of the comforts of home AND with an amazing view. The home is picture perfect - warm and welcoming and wonderfully decorated. We look forward to returning again.

My sisters and I had the privilege of staying here for a weekend to visit and share some memories of our mother. She passed in May and was a collector of cookie cutters (3 totes worth). We sorted and took turns choosing ones that spoke to us. Taking time in between to sit on the balcony, down by the river, going in to Shepherdstown and Harper's Ferry to shop and dine. Only complain we had was the Internet was very spotty which made communicating with our families a little difficult at times. Thanks for a wonderful place to help out hearts heal.

We enjoyed our stay at the river cottage. It was close to all the sites we had planned to visit. Cottage was clean and well equipped.

Thoughtful was our first impressions of our hosts. They had some nice touches that showed they care about the little things to make your stay easier. We only stayed a night but got to enjoy the short walk down to the Potomac and the short drive into Harper's Ferry with abundant deer sightings. Great location and wonderfully responsive hosts. We had a very short stay but would stat longer. Very clean, comfortable beds and pleasant overall. Quiet area close to river! Kids appreciated the snacks. I appreciated the nightlights in strategic places and the electric kettle!

Nice little house, very clean. Easy access to the river and also the C&O trail. We enjoyed the deck and the living room for relaxing. Lots of bird activity and we also saw deer each day from the house.

2 adults and 3 teens stayed here and it was a good fit. The hill down to the river was more steep than we expected but the kids had no problem with it. The house was clean, had basic necessities. Communication with the owners was good. We would definitely stay here again!
