Great location! Easy access to local sites like Helen and Brasstown bald. There are a few small reasons it’s not 5/5 - is the beds need to be changed, the queen upstairs beds all three have slopes. The floors upstairs creak so badly it wakes the people up on the ground floor. The water pressure in the upstairs shower was very low, hard to rinse shampoo. One thing about the directions, it’s very hard to find at night. There are no address numbers at the road. You can’t see the first three cabins in the subdivision at night, it’s completely black. No streetlights. So describing it as the 8th cabin is futile if you can’t count the cabin number. Simple reflective paint at the drive way near the road with the house number would remedy. But folks seriously, these are very minor things. We had elderly folks with us on the ground floor, and they enjoyed walks at the river. Short drive to shopping and to Helen. The place was well stocked, everything you need. Easy access to town and the river. We loved it. Thank you.
We will definitely come back. Perfect cabin with great views.
I live in South Georgia 15 miles from the Florida line. When I was searching for a place to take my wife on a much needed retreat, I was looking more in the Helen area.. Somehow I found this property and it was perfect. In fact we chose to spend more time around the Hiawassee area than we did at Helen. My wife even said, we have this beautiful cabin that we need to spend ore time at. Whether you choose to sit on the back porch and take in the gorgeous mountain veiws or take a short walk down to the stream behind the property and sit in the adirondack chairs by the stream and enjoy the breeze, you can't go wrong. The house is set up for ten or more guest, but the downstairs was cozy and comfortable for just the two of us. Great Place, I will go back with family
Beautiful house
The location couldn’t be better, only 8 min to town. It was fully stocked with everything you would need including spices, sugar, coffee filters, garbage bags, and even serving platters. Note: no extra toliet paper or paper towels provided. Unfortunately, the fruit flies and ants made cooking challenging. We had to keep everything in the fridge to keep the ants off it. While cooking, ants were crawling all over the counters and fruit flies were buzzing by constantly. I contacted the hosts and they responded right away and apologized, but just said there are any traps set, but all the cabins have them on the River. The grill took about 15 minutes of heavy smoke to burn off all the remnants getting ashes on the chairs. It was fine after that initial burn off. The upstairs beds are miserably uncomfortable. One makes so much noise every time you turn (and you will turn a lot to try and get comfortable) that it wakes up the other person all night. Bed in room with twins is also uncomfortable. By the end of the 4 days my back was killing me. PROS: -location was perfect -hosts communication was quick and responsive -tubes and kayaks provided, although nothing to blow them up CONS: -Ants all over the kitchen -massive infestation of fruit flies -upstairs beds were miserably uncomfortable. If you are expecting a 5 star property based on previous reviews, you should set your expectations appropriately and expect more of a glamping experience. I would not rent again.
The cabin was clean, we love the location and we are happy with the overall setup. Thanks! Communication with property manager was none. I think it was the App’s glitch, I sent the reply, no response returned.
Our family really enjoyed staying at this property. The views were incredible! Every morning we woke up with deer in the back yard. The kids had fun kayaking in the river as well as skipping rocks. The house was a short drive away from downtown and had easy access to nearby tourist areas (Helen, Babyland, hiking adventures). We will definitely stay again!!
Peaceful, relaxing and quiet.
For the size and price, this house was perfect for us. The owners were very responsive and helpful. We didn't use the tubes or go into the creek but they were available and looked nice. The house was nice and clean except for the kitchen cabinets and closets, with the dishes/cups sort of thrown in and the towels/extra sheets somewhat disorganized and all over the place. There was also a slight ant problem in the kitchen, but nothing too bad for the summer in the south. We just kept our food in the fridge to avoid issues. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could and would stay there again.
We had a great time at the cabin! Caught lots of fish and took a lazy ride down the river on tubes and kayaks provided. The cabin looks better in person than the pictures.
This cabin was perfect for our family! The decor, amenities, location, and peacefulness was exactly how we wanted to spend our time together. Kelly was a wonderful host and replied to all questions very fast. The porch view of the mountains and the sun setting was absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this property and we hope to return again next year! Definitely a 5 star vacation to us!
Our family met up at this beautiful home to celebrate the life of my father whom we just lost to cancer. We had such a memorable time together. The cabin was definitely the perfect setting for us to relax and reminisce. There was something for all of us to enjoy! Pool... beautiful river for fishing, kayaking and tubing.... back porch for relaxing and soaking up the view!!... plenty of space outside for the family to play...The house was very clean, set up comfortably for our family of 8 ranging of ages 16 months to 53 years. We were not disappointed.
Close to Helen, near grocery stores and restaurants, kayaks and tubes ready to be used on property. House is beautiful and the porch is relaxing with an amazing view
This is the second time we have stayed in this beautiful cabin, first was Nov 2018. Second visit was just as outstanding as the first. Our adult children and one teen took the tubes on the river from the cabin to a close by campground. They had quite the adventure! Cabin is close to some beautiful hikes. We enjoyed High Shoals Falls and Brasstown Bald (able to do both hikes in one day). Cabin itself is perfect for the 6 of us, everyone had plenty of space. We enjoyed daily visits from beavers on the bank out the back door. Spent a perfect day lounging and reading on the back porch. Owners are very responsive and extremely helpful!!! Really can’t say enough great things. Grocery store conveniently located within minutes.
