Stayed Apr 18, 2025This property has well water and doesn’t get used often so when you use the water hot or cold it smells line rotten eggs the whole time water is being used The water was clean but had a strong odor of iron and rotten eggs. We was there 2 nights and it never got better. It was 90 degree on the Saturday we was there and the owner said we wouldn’t need the ac because the nights were still getting down to 40 so she said to leave it on heat 50 but boy that was a terrible mistake when the weather spiked to 93 and inside the house was 91. Over all stay was very good. The property is right along the road. Would not recommend if kids are going to be with you. The owner very nice And property is clean.

Stayed Oct 3, 2024We very much enjoyed our stay which was booked for the Mountain State Forest Festival. It’s just a short drive to Elkins, so the house was conveniently located and the hosts provide a fully stocked kitchen, linens, and even a few games to play. Host was very accommodating. If you aren’t accustomed to sleeping on a bamboo pillow, you might consider bringing your own. This was a wonderful place stay - highly recommended!

Stayed Oct 23, 2021Even though we spent most of our time sight seeing, the morning views of the creek were fantastic and easy access to go down onto the river itself. The property manager was very pleasant to speak with and gave us great suggestions on where to explore. The property was very clean and comfy, and we found the RGB lights to be a fun touch to the rental. Reccomend staying here to anyone!

Stayed Oct 14, 2021The house is very cute inside. Plenty of towels and washcloths if you can stand taking a shower in sulfur smelling water. I suggest picking up a few gallons of water at the Kroger in Elkins. Plenty of warm blankets on chilly evenings. We missed having our own pillows as the pillows provided were very full. The 8 page lease was off putting and unexpected. Checkout was easy enough.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We were very happy with this property. It was clean and well kept. However, we were traveling with our 5 year old granddaughter and were a little nervous when we discovered that the house was right on the road. We didn't realize that until we arrived. Also, we didn't find any coffee pods or cream and the rugs were very slippery. The back deck was great! We were able to sit out there and watch a deer across the river. My husband also enjoyed some fishing from the river bank. Overall, it was a great place to stay but would prefer being a little further in the woods and away from the main road.
