Compared to other Bach stays, this one requires you to provide your own linens and towels. House hasn't been updated, and had a very rustic feel. Not what we were expecting.

Responsive and friendly host. All the amenities we needed for a long weekend. Great location for the beach (Waipu Cove), or visiting Waipu. Kids loved being close to the river and estuary.

Classic bach which is comfortable and clean. We all slept great! Loved having direct access to the river and the kayaks were a huge plus. We will be back!

Unfortunately, this bach was a disappointment. Although the location was great and the host very responsive, the furniture, carpets and amenities in the property were old, smelly, and visibly stained, giving the whole place a neglected feel. The previous guests did a poor job cleaning after themselves meaning we had to clean on arrival, but beyond that, the house itself is in desperate need of a proper deep clean. There was rusted furniture scattered around the property, which made it feel poorly maintained and unwelcoming. The overall smell of the house was old, musty, and dirty, which made it uncomfortable to stay in. This property does not match expectations and requires significant cleaning and upkeep before it can be considered suitable for guests. We would have cut short our stay if not for the time of year and lack of alternative accom. Less Kiwi bach, more deceased estate vibes.

The location is spectacular. I wish we had a month to stay. It's on a nature reserve and has a magnificent beach 10 minutes away.

Me and my three girl friends (age 20) stayed in the cottage for one night as part of our road trip, it was very homely, clean and welcoming! Very well stocked with cooking facilities, books and tv! We had a lovely stay, would definitely recommend thanks so much!

We had a quick overnight stay had dinner at waipu cove and went to the museum at waipu. We loved the 160 year old tree in the cemetery. I think the museum gave us some context to the location and the history. Needs a few repairs to the deck to keep it safe but other than that a great kiwi Bach experience . stairs creaked a bit which freaked out my friend but overall we had fun. I’d stay again
