This house was perfect for us! We were on a weekend trip with me, my husband, our 6 week old, plus another couple with their 2 and 4 year olds. We had everything we needed to cook and plenty of beds for everyone- including a pack and play for our baby. The place isn’t fancy but it’s clean and very practical!
The location was peaceful, beautiful scenery and close to shopping fuel etc.
Quiet little area and town. We came to ski at Canaan Valley and had a great visit. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. The location was perfect for what we wanted.
Lots of room for the kids to play
My sister, niece and I got away for a girls weekend. We found the home quiet and comfortable with all amenities and a well equipped kitchen.
The only reason I don’t give it a 5 star ⭐️ is because it’s sooo close to the highway on a curve and people were flying by. Furniture is kinda dated but it was large and just what we needed with 2 of our grandsons and my mother.
My family and my best friend's family rented this property together for a week. The home is nestled in a beautiful area next to a river, and the décor is adorable with a vintage flare. It felt like we went back in time. The property owners were very accommodating and provided cleaning supplies, toiletries, games, as well as maps and brochures for local adventures. We spent every morning and evening on the porch, talking, planning our days, and admiring the fireflies. We were surprised to find the house stocked with games, and we enjoyed having a Connect 4 and Battleship tournament. I lost miserably, but it was still a lot of fun. We really enjoyed having our own privacy, the homey atmosphere, and reading over the previous guests' experiences in the guest book. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and didn't get to add our own this time, but we've all agreed that we're looking forward to staying here again next year. The only thing I would say that could be improved upon is the comfort of the beds. However, for the price, a little discomfort is acceptable for us. We highly recommend staying at this home to anyone who is looking for an affordable and adorable place to stay in West Virginia.
My Family and I traveled to WV for a fishing trip. We chose this house for the access to the river. Unfortunately the pictures in the listing make it seem as if you have access right out your door, that was not the case. The home it self is a nice older home. Some cool vintage furniture and nice layout. The house sits 20 feet from a 2 lane road that seem to be a raceway for the community.when sitting on the porch you hear cars and side by sides racing up and down the road all through the night. The river access is down in the campground about 1/4 miles or you have to walk the busy 2 lane road and go down under the bridge. Over all the house was truly nice and i enjoyed the house alot. The only downside is it wasnt as i expected when we got there.
Perfect for a family on a strict budget.
The owners of the property are honest and up front about it: This is not a luxury mansion on the top of a hill with a gorgeous vista. Instead, it's a clean, perfectly comfortable home base for any number of excursions in the area. Whether you are there to fish, to hunt, to hike, or for a stop along the way it's close enough to Elkins to give you access to amenities, and it's a decent and quiet hangout. We'd use it again. Trust me. You'll appreciate it.
It was absolutely amazing ? we had the best time ever!! Thank you all so much! ☺️
We came to ride our motorcycle and the property was not important. It was as the description said. The only things I would have liked was a little weed-eating, the front deck washed off and the back porch swept and dusted. Otherwise we relaxed when we were there, everything worked, we slept great and enjoyed cooking in.
We enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is close to tons of hiking and fishing locations. Kitchen is well stocked.
Great place to stay. Easy access for 5 grandpaps. 4 grandsons under 10 joined us for one day. We would like to do it again next year. Maybe let grandsons stay one night with us.
Everyone was very pleased with our trip. Upon our arrival though, we found we would be short on paper towels and toilet paper for our stay. But by contacting Tish, situation was quickly resolved. ??
The Bridge House was a perfect stay for our trip. It was clean, adequately supplied and the view of the river was fantastic. Tisha was great to work with and answer questions. Thanks for a great place we will be back!
Super easy process and a great place to stay !
Nice getaway with family!
Great experience!!!!
House was clean but dated, host says updates are coming . Excellent service and communication, would stay here again
Property is rustic, perfect for our weekend plans bedrooms were nice, kitchen was equipped for cooking. Great coffee and tea bar. Thank you!!
We came down for a lumberjack competition at the college and although it was dark when we got there and left, the short time we were there, we were very satisfied with the place. Had everything you could need for your stay. We just wished we could have enjoyed the view.
It was clean loved have kitchen like half of bathroom plus full bath like being by creek to fish will come back or let other know about it loved West Virginia
Our stay was wonderful and my family has decided that this is the house we want to stay at next year when we come for our annual family reunion. We loved the house and location’. My granddaughter didn’t want to leave the house, so we have to come back
Even though property is located next to the road, it was very quiet. The property was great to relax, would have made it to Black Water Falls (which isn't too far away) but rained pretty much the whole time. The only recommendation to improve the property for future stays, would be to update/replace the living room furniture to something a little more comfortable.
Great layout for family of 4 to 6! Would recommend this place
We loved the home. It was the perfect size for all of us. The house was clean when we got there.
Perfect spot to launch a fishing trip
